As a singer who has sung some of Whitney Houston’s gospel music….I’m saddened this morning of not only her loss…but also that her gift is silent forever. Whitney was raised up in church and I’m sure that as God has promised in His word that nothing will separate us from His love….she is safe in His arms.
Many people are bringing up her mistakes and I thought of this scripture that Paul said…1 Corinthians 4:3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
I just want to say that it’s amazing…the gifts of talent and skill that some people have and Whitney’s voice was just that…an amazing gift.
This morning is my Sunday to sing a solo in church and while I’m no Whitney Houston…I’ll use my gift to sing….It is well with my soul. Many of you know I wrote a blog about that last week. Whitney Huston tried hard to regain a well soul and it’s something that can be difficult for all of us at one time or another. David in the Psalms asked God to help him with this…
Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
How can it be well with your soul?
- Put God first.
- Talk to Him all day every day.
- Study and know your bible.
- Ask Jesus to wash you clean…to forgive your sins.
- Trust Him for everything.
Message for today: Let’s keep Whitney’s daughter and family in prayer. Today let’s make sure all is well with our soul and pray for those who are struggling with their’s.

From what little I know about you, and the brief but fruitful times we’ve had to work together on music, my impression of you has always been one of respect and admiration. After reading a few of your blogs, I can truly say that my respect and admiration have grown considerably. I count it a privilege to know both you and your husband. Grace and peace, my dear sister!
