Exodus 20:7 

NIV-“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

KJV – Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Deuteronomy 5:11                                         
“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

If you are not praying or honoring God in some way….stop using His name haphazardly!

If I hear one more person using God’s name because they are surprised at something or using it like a slang term……….

I watch HGTV a lot because it’s clean TV entertainment with no sexual content and no vulgarity at all but….whenever someone is shown their makeover room or house they all say….”oh my god”

Why do people say that… when they say that with their lips but don’t really mean it in their heart?  Award shows are the worse with many people saying they give honor to god and then get up and perform something barely dressed or they use very suggestive lyrics….comes on now…don’t dishonor God like that.  If someone said something to dishonor their mother they would be ready to throw down!!  Isn’t God so much more?  Should I be ready to…throw down?….but thank God… I’m a Christian woman and I don’t throw down anymore!

Either you are God’s real child or not.  If you REALLY are following Him and serving and obeying Him… you would not dishonor Him with your actions and dishonor Him with your lips.

One day everyone will utter the name of the Lord….and it will be for the right reason whether you want to or not…..

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

But for now….even though the world will always be saying….”oh my God” and “Jesus Christ”….When I hear it…I’ll ask God to forgive them and have mercy on them….and my prayer will be that they will one day say it with passionate sincerity because they have repented, believed in Jesus and have been redeemed.
