Psalm 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

In  A.W. Tozer’s book “The pursuit of God” he makes this statement…

“Complacency is a deadly foe of spiritual growth.  Acute desire must be present or there will be no manifestation of Christ to His people.  He waits to be wanted.”

When I read this I said…this is what I have tried to say throughout my blogs.  We have to hunger after God as if our very breath depends on Him.  We have to dwell on Him daily.  Without this….we will not see much of His beautiful Shekinah Glory or The Holy Spirit pouring out the presence of God on us.  Our relationship with God will just be kinda general and unemotional.

God has emotions and feelings.  He desires to connect with us intimately.

Look around you in the room you’re in right now…take a pencil with an eraser and in your mind… erase everything around you….now erase your things, family and valuables.  What do you have?  Nothing!  That’s right you really have nothing… but God.  You came into this world with nothing and you will leave with nothing.  All we really have is…..God.

It’s not that the things around you mean nothing…it’s that God is everything!!!!  He made you….He loves you so much.  He doesn’t need you to worship the ground He walks on because God doesn’t NEED anything or anybody… but I believe He loves it when you’re thinking of Him throughout your day.  He loves when you talk to Him.  He loves when you do everything in your power to be kind to others.  He loves for you to tell others about Him.  He loves your faithfulness and obedience.

We can’t be cheap with our worship and homage to our God.  We need to act like He’s the greatest Father God in our lives… if this is what we are professing.

Don’t love God in a human way…a general way…when you feel like bothering with Him way, in an uninterested way…but love Him passionately and intimately!  Love Him with deep feelings.  You can’t do this at all if you don’t know Him.

Are you thinking… how do I get to know Him?

There are 3 ways that I know of:

  1. Pray
  2. Read and study the bible
  3. With Help from the Holy Spirit

You have to be determined to know God.  I have been on a diet for 3 years and have lost 90 lbs.  It has been very hard because of my health issues.    I can’t do a lot of exercising….but I was so determined.  Nobody could do it for me or make me do it.  I had to want to do it for myself.

To know God more….you must be determined to know Him.  You have to make it up in your mind that you want to know God in a deeper way and then make an effort to do it.

When you succeed at this… God will reward you with His presence!!!!  Your reward will also be a change in you because you will develop an acute desire for God as A.W.Tozer stated that we need in order to see a manifestation of Christ.  ………As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. Psalms 41:1

Everybody is talking about revival, revival.  Revival will come when we desire God in such a way that His presence will fall on us like rain and our hungry and God thirsty soul will be filled with Him.

This is the time for us…God’s creations to run after Him.  We need to show Him our love and appreciation for all He’s done for us.  We need to get out of our own way and beat a path to our God.  We need to set up tabernacles in our heart and mind and get on our faces before our Holy and Sovereign God and worship Him.  Humility goes a long way with God.

The place to be is with God!  We have the ability to connect with God this way because of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross and because of the fulfilled promise of the Holy Spirit.

I’m telling everyone that things have changed in this world but God has not changed or taken back any of His promises.  His love for us hasn’t changed.  It’s the same powerful love that He has always had for us.  But have we changed.  We have downplayed our need for Him.  Have we downplayed His importance in our daily lives and pushed Him into a few hours on Sunday morning?

aw tozer big view

It’s ok to enjoy this beautiful world He gave us to live in.  It’s ok to enjoy things.  But we must keep a balance.  It’s not that hard to put God in the forefront of our lives.  It’s not difficult to talk to Him throughout our day.  I have had my share of distractions that try to eat up my time in which I can give more of to the Lord.  I’ll tell on myself here…..TV, internet surfing, shopping on Ebay to name a few.  It just sucks me right in and I repent and make a new effort to commit myself more to the things of God.  There are no excuses.  I’m determined to know God and walk with Him.  I KNOW this pleases Him!!!

I’m hungry for God and I want to remain hungry because I want God’s attention and I KNOW when I worship Him….I’ve got His direct attention and I know He will react to it.  I need reaction….my life is a challenge. I need as much of God’s direct presence as I can get.  Now God’s always watching over me so I know I’m good there….but I want that extra anointing, blessing and touch that God has for those who put their full devotion and trust in Him.  I feel very weak when I get “distracted” from my worship and time with the Lord.

I know this is a long blog today and I hope you’ve hung in there with me….but I feel very led to share this with you.  This is what God is pouring into my spirit for me….and you know I share all with you.  God bless you all…..God bless you!!!!!

OH GOD!!!!!

Oh God
