communion-2

I will be pointing out several points on the power of communion. The main power of communion for me is that God created me in His mind and heart and developed a whole plan to make me His child. He humiliated Himself and came down from His grandeur, majesty and gloriousness to offer us eternal life through Emanuel. Jesus was horribly murdered so He could put us right with God. It had to be a blood sacrifice for the reconciliation of our spirit back to God. Jesus lovingly did this for us and the power behind His act of kindness is so powerful that every time I celebrate communion I want it to really soak into my mind, soul and spirit. There is so much power in the blood that it can deeply change a person’s entire future. Jesus blood is miraculous!!!!!

communion

1 Corinthians 11:23-26  For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, communion-1that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

The bread represents the body of Jesus which was broken just for us. The wine represents the New Covenant which is His blood that was shed just for us. God requested Jesus to sacrifice Himself so that we can be set free from the law. A blood sacrifice was needed to atone for our sin and Jesus was that sacrifice taking on our sin in His own body and shedding His blood on our behalf because we were spiritually dead.

Let’s remember that:

“GOD HAD A PLAN TO CREATE US, satan HAS A PLAN TO DESTROY US AND JESUS HAD A PLAN TO REDEEM US!!!!!!!!”

 quote by Tanya Nemley

                                       THE PLAN:

[Acts 2:22-28 Fellow Israelites, listen carefully to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man thoroughly accredited by God to you—the miracles and wonders and signs that God did through him are common knowledge—this Jesus, following the deliberate and well-thought-out plan of God, was betrayed by men who took the law into their own hands, and was handed over to you. And you pinned him to a cross and killed him. But God untied the death ropes and raised him up. Death was no match for him…]

What Jesus did was going to be so difficult that His soul was overwhelmed and He was in deep grief over this. Jesus was emotionally shaken!! Jesus was human and had real emotions.

Nobody can see God who is holy so Jesus would have to bear humanities sin/unholiness on Himself. I guess you can say that Jesus was scared to death to have to face bearing our sin  by baring them in His own body.  He also had to deal with the mysterious separation of Himself from His Father.   Since Jesus is God only He and God would know exactly what happened in that moment in time to make Him so sorrowful and later ask why God had forsaken Him. Matthew 26:38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me. This was an excruciatingly painful and a very difficult task that Jesus accomplished for our benefit.communion-3

  1. Jesus bore all our sin on Himself to the extent that He had to scream out in agony because of the separation from God that was happening to Him. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”Matthew 27:46)  What god could or would do that for us?
  2. Jesus completed His incredibly compassionate mission for our soul’s earthly and eternal welfare and He announced this to the world…When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30 Now we all can reap the reward of this glorious gift.

Please read this description  below that was written hundreds of years before Jesus was even born. It tells of just how bad Jesus was going to be attacked, severely beaten and maimed even before the horror of His brutal crucifixion.

communion-4

Psalms 22:12-18 TLB

I am surrounded by fearsome enemies, strong as the giant bulls from Bashan. 13 They come at me with open jaws, like roaring lions attacking their prey. 14 My strength has drained away like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart melts like wax; 15 my strength has dried up like sun-baked clay; my tongue sticks to my mouth, for you have laid me in the dust of death. 16 The enemy, this gang of evil men, circles me like a pack of dogs; they have pierced my hands and feet. 17 I can count every bone in my body. See these men of evil gloat and stare; 18 they divide my clothes among themselves by a toss of the dice.

Jesus was safe, secure and lived in a glorified state and He gave all that up for 31 years to be a human just to put us right with God!!!!  He has commanded that we remember His act of extreme sacrifice until He comes back for us or we go to Him.

Philippians 2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death– even death on a cross! Jesus stepped away from His majestic position in heaven to be used by God to redeem us. This was an incredible thing for Jesus to do!!!!

Then Jesus needed to get back His glory after He humbled Himself by becoming human to save us. John 17:5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. Jesus lived without his glory for 31 for me!

Another reason for the importance and the power of communion is the cleansing it provides. What Jesus accomplished on the cross is like spiritual kidney dialysis! Dialysis is a medical machine that removes waste and impurities from the blood so that a person can live. Jesus blood can cleanse us when we ask for forgiveness. Hebrews 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. THIS IS THE REAL POWER OF COMMUNION!!!! Romans 5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. We must realize that we were enemies of God because of our unholiness/our unrighteousness and because of Jesus BLOOD we have been reconciled to God. THE POWER OF COMMUNION IS KNOWING THAT WE HAVE BEEN RECONCILLED TO GOD!!!!!

[Reconciled means: to restore to friendship or harmony, to bring into agreement, reestablish a close relationship between.]

communion-5

We celebrate communion in church as a body of Christ…but I like to celebrate communion at home by myself.  I celebrate it about twice a week. At home I can spend more time searching my heart for any unrepented sins and I can take time to really meditate on the significance of the meaning of why I’m celebrating communion. This is something that I like to do and I’m not telling anyone else to do this. This is what I feel led to do.

A lot of people have “I will never forget” signs on their cars for various reasons but I have this phrase engraved in my heart because I will never forget as long as I live the sacrifice Jesus made for me.

communion-6

JESUS I’LL NEVER FORGET

Jesus I’ll never forget, what you’ve done for me Jesus I’ll never forget, how you set me free Jesus I’ll never forget, how you brought me out Jesus I’ll never forget, nooo nev-er

THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD

Would you be free from the burden of sin? There’s power in the blood, power in the blood Would you o’er evil a victory win? There’s wonderful power in the blood

There is power, power, wonder-working power In the blood of the Lamb There is power, power, wonder-working power In the precious blood of the Lamb
