Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Last weekend my husband, son and I went to the Vanderbilt Planetarium. The show was amazing and it opened my eyes to just how insignificant plant earth is in contrast to the whole universe. There is no oxygen in the universe so how our planet is so full of life and so stable has to be a God thing. When you read Genesis 1:1 after going to the planetarium you say to yourself…oh yeah….this planet is a result of the power of God. We on earth think our lives and this huge planet is all that and a bag of chips. You go to the planetarium and you say….we are a grain of sand on all the beaches in the world compared to the entire universe.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

The announcer at the planetarium said this planet was made from a big bang. Yeah God said…” BAM!” and a beautiful planet with oceans animals and people appeared. Who does that? GOD! It’s just too incredible to believe anything else.

There are an estimated 100 billion galaxies (solar systems) out there. So looking at earth in light of 99 billion other galaxies we are really nothing except the God who created the galaxies is our creator and Father. I’m in awe!!!!

If the being who created the entire galaxy is so powerful…How can I not believe that He can take care of me!!! I may have to go through some things in my life time and God has promised to help me through this. God has and is helping me. I need to not dwell on what I’m going through but I need to look at the big picture!

I look up at the sky differently now since I’ve been to the planetarium. I see the sky. I know that there is a cold black universe past the sky. And I know that beyond the black universe there is heaven.

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:1-4 12 I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. 3 And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— 4 was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell. The third heaven is where God resides.

We are in good hands everybody. Just trust in God!!!

Dear Father God,

You mean more to me than I can express in words, so I have dedicated my life to you. I’m so glad that You decided to create me and give me life. You knew that I would be born a little less than perfect and that I would be born in sin, so you made a way for my soul to be washed and cleansed. When I was in my deepest and darkest sadnessYou were there!  My mind was so confused and afflicted. You healed me so that I could think clearly and experince happiness for the first time in my life. I’m so glad I didn’t destroy the gift of life that you had given me.

Father God…many have thought that I’m strange and many people have not liked me but you have always accepted me for me!!!!! I can’t tell you how much that has meant to me every single day!  When I lost friends because I was chronically ill, you enabled me to really understand that if all is well with my soul, I’m really good.

Thank you for adopting me. I feel so special about because you went out of your way to give me life. I feel special because you love me so much! So, Father God…this day, for me, is dedicated to you! You are the BEST Father I could have ever hoped for. I can’t wait to see you face to face!!! Happy Father’s day! XOXO!

Acts 20:24  However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

This is me!!! This is my life!! This scripture just gets me to my heart because it’s what I live by every single day.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not plotting and planning how to get someone to hear about Jesus. This is God’s will for my life!!! I believe this is the will for everyone’s life. I believe protection, healing and many other blessings spiritual and physical will come for those who are actively reaching out to win the lost.

The time for obeying this command from the Lord is now. It’s not that God needs you because He can do this by Himself…but this is for us. God is giving us a final opportunity to gain favor and store up treasures in heaven that will be added to our account.

I try to spread the gospel because:

1. The bible God’s words to us says to do so.
2. Because someone did it for me. God showed me the person in a vision
3. I want others to go to heaven.
4. God has done so much for me! He saved my life by healing me completely from depression and suicide attempts.
5. My main reason for witnessing is because I love God so much that I would do anything for him!  

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Act 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Therefore “GO”

“BE” His witness

1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

When I read this scripture verse a few days ago I have not been able to get it out of my head so I need to blog about it today.

This scripture explains who God is:

1. Great
2. Full of power
3. Glorious
4. Majestic
5. Full of splendor
6. Owner of the kingdom
7. Head of all

This description is powerful and can’t describe anyone else but God! My mind can’t even wrap around anyone more powerful. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. Psalms 145:3.

God makes it very clear of His position in the entire universe in this verse: Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: “I AM has sent me to you.” Who else can say that?

No one can be higher than God: Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted…. God is high and exalted!!! God is superior to anything or anyone that ever existed!

It’s very hard to understand the greatness of God. We’re human and it’s not in our brain to understand the unique being that God is no matter how much we study about Him and how much we pray. If we understood Him we would be scared to death of Him because of His extreme superiority and holiness.

So we worship and praise God and talk to Him as much as we can. Since it’s so much to try to grasp His greatness….I personally hang out in His love and I have set my mind to have an ongoing daily and close relationship with Him. Because of His love for me I can reach Him and be real close to Him. He has made this so easy because of the Holy Spirit living inside of me. It’s a process that has to be daily cultivated by me because in my human state there are so many distractions that pull at me constantly that try to draw me away from my relationship with God. I try all day and night to keep my mind on God.

I think a lot about the day when I will be one with God in the most incredible, perfect and permanent way. My granddaughter says that I’m obsessed with God and I tell you…that I AM!!!! Why…Because:

1. I see God’s greatness.
2. I feel His love for me.
3. I know my future

Because I’m assured of these 3 things I can take the stress of my human life. I don’t question this great God about why He’s allowed me to suffer so in this life. Knowing how great He is lets me know that He knows what He’s doing. He promised me an unbelievably great eternal life if I would just trust Him. And I do. I trust God, I trust God….I…trust…God!!!!!

Some facts about sin and suffering:

1. Some illness or suffering is from sin in a person’s life.
2. Some illness or suffering is so the works of God can be made manifest.
3. Some illness is because of dysfunctional DNA or inherited.
4. Some suffering is a result of things just happening such as catastrophes, accidents and tragedies.

For today’s teaching I am dealing with SIN as a cause of unanswered prayers.

Many times in Jesus earthly ministry He healed people’s sin sickness which led to their physical healing.

What good is it for a person to have their body healed if their soul is sick?

James 5:15-16   And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

How did we get sinful in the first place?

We were born with original sin attached to our soul. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… Yes, even cute little babies!

John piper said… If humanity is not born in sin, wouldn’t we expect there to be some people who have “beaten the odds” and never sinned? If we are born innocent and good, why aren’t there at least some people who have continued in this state and remained sinless?  Proverbs 22:15 says “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child.”

Babies and small children are given grace and mercy if they happen to pass away early in life before their age of knowing right from wrong. (Accountability)

WHAT IS SIN?

1 John 3:4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; ^jsin is lawlessness. Sin is having a rebellious spirit against the holiness of God. Sin is the worst sickness that your soul can have. It’s a spiritual cancer that eats away at you and it leads to spiritual death. Sin sickness is the most horrible threat to mankind.

If you’re not saved, born again, a Christian… this sin sickness can lead you to seek a cure and spiritual healing though the mercy of God and Jesus Christ. When you are a Christian this sin sickness can lead to having your prayers blocked. The cure for a Christian is also God’s mercy and Jesus forgiveness AFTER you have repented of your sin.

There is a cure for sin sickness and it is here in this very important scripture verse:

“Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

So what is the “law”?

In The Old Testament/ Torah the law spelled out in detail. Law is mentioned 220 times in the Old Testament. One good example of law is what we call the 10 commandments. Exodus 20:1-17

Do not have any other god before God.

Do not make yourself an idol.

Do not take the Lord’s name in vain.

Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.

Honor thy Mother and Father.

Do not murder.

Do not commit adultery.

Do not steal.

A few examples of things that can cause sin:

Unforgiveness, doubt, pride, hatefulness/ being unloving and mean, faithlessness, having evil motives toward others, gossiping and backbiting, Jealousy, prayerlessness, , not believing in Jesus, selfishness, Unconfessed Sin, being involved with any kind of astrology, racism, sexual immortality, and unholy behavior and so on. I listed some things because I believe some people really don’t see that they have a problem with sin at all.

I am a Christian and Jesus has removed my original sin when I believed in Him accepted Him as my Lord and Savior! Thank you Jesus “BUT” I still have a sin nature! I must keep myself in spiritual check and ask Jesus to forgive me when I’ve fallen short. Ecclesiastes 7:20 Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. I don’t want to sin…but I do. I thank God for the Holy Spirit who is helping me to live a life that is pleasing to God.

How are we New Testaments saints different from the Old Testaments?

In the Old Testament they didn’t have the Holy Spirit indwelling in them so they needed to have a list of do’s and don’ts to guide them.  But we New Testament saints have the advantage of being able to read what the old testaments were told, as well as what the new testaments were told.   We also have the incredible work of the Holy Spirit who teaches and instructs us 365 days a year for the rest of our lives.

We cannot say we didn’t know because this is the Holy Spirits job to help us see truth.

John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

If you continue to sin as a Christian it’s because you have failed to listen to the inner voice inside of you bringing God’s word to your mind and telling you that you have missed the mark.

The cure for sin sickness:

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Because of Jesus Christ there is a cure for our original sin sickness and a treatment for our sin nature. The treatment for our sin nature is like the treatment for diabetes.   Insulin can keep your diabetes under control and your blood sugars low and it doesn’t have to lead to death, but you still have diabetes. Same thing with sin. It can be kept under control and not lead to death but you still suffer with sin.

Now for the deep meat about sin!

If you have unconfessed sin in your life and you ask God to bless you or answer a prayer…uh… what answer might you get from God? Knowing God the way I do….He don’t bless no mess? If your spiritual life is a hot mess…Repent! If you really want to live a godly life….Repent!

If you really want to live a righteous and holy life then pray these 2 scriptures:

Psalms 139:23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

Psalms 26:2 Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;

The Holy Spirit will look into your heart and see if there is something sinful in there.   He will reveal that to you so you can obtain repentance and be washed by Jesus blood and be sanctified!

We must know what the bible says!!! If you don’t you won’t even realize you’re doing wrong. The word of God is what the Holy Spirit instructs us with to be right with Father God.

It’s best to keep a close walk with Father God and keep your mind on Jesus all day every day so that in the time of crisis you don’t have to try to butter God up to try to get a blessing. God doesn’t work that way..

The word of God says we can ask anything of Him. It says in 1 Peter 5:7 to Cast all your care upon Him for He cares for you. He will answer you according to His will. Even Jesus… God own Son had to get with His Fathers program!!! Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

I guarantee it will be a perfect answer in what God sees is best for you. You want Him to have the best reason to bless you and I tell you…ongoing sin is not something you want in your life when you have a need.

You can praise God in church and shout and do a dance. You can pray all day and read the word….but if you are let’s say for an example…going home from church to a man you shack up with or get in the car and scream at you wife and berate her in front of your kids and ask God to answer a prayer request….well needless to say you WILL have a problem between you and God.

As I said in the beginning of this teaching…. “Repent, stop sinning, ask for forgiveness and get right with God!”

Just because you…..

• Shout and dance in church

• Pray all day

• Go to every special service and seminar

• Stand on a prayer line and get prayed over

• Give to the poor

• Serve in Church

• Have a PHD, a good job and money in the bank

And you’re still sinning………and want answered prayers form God?

Ah….No!

“You can’t live any old way you want and expect God to have God’s favor!”

Yes God is very loving and kind but according to the bible…He has His way of how we should live our lives. We have to get with His program! He does not adapt to ours!

I want things to be right with you and God that’s why I did this teaching. People don’t want to discuss sin these days. I feel this is a very big problem because unconfessed sin is a problem for God’s children. Just because we’re saved doesn’t mean we can demand things of God and he has to obey us especially when we have not been following His precepts. I want you to be blessed!!! I want your life to be prosperous in Jesus. I want everything that God has to offer His child to be available for that person!

These are very trying days.   According to the bible things will be very difficult in these last days. Nobody needs their prayers blocked!!! Staying right with God is an ongoing process that we must check on the purity of our heart daily. God don’t bless….MESS!
