We all have always been under a spiritual attack from Satan and his demons, but lately I have felt that the spiritual warfare against me has been much stronger. I do know why though. I am planning to go even further with evangelism, and I am digging in my heels to present the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the unsaved. Also, my husband and I are devoted to strengthening the saints in their knowledge of God’s word. I personally need a refresher course in spiritual warfare, and I want to share what I studied with you.

I’m going to make this part short about who the devil and his evil posse are. No need to focus on them only about them. Lucifer and the angels were created by God. Satan thought he was all that and then some. He tried to not only put himself higher than God, but he also wanted to defeat God’s plan to reconcile His creations back to Himself through Jesus Christ death and resurrection. Lucifers plan was defeated. He and the angels that followed him were kicked out of heaven by God and their names were changed to Satan and demons after that. God still has all say so over all they do, and God has provided help against their attacks on His children. Thank God! Thank you, Jesus!

Satan had the nerve to try to get Jesus to worship and serve Him, but Jesus said this to him in Matthew 4:10 “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ This is what we must do!!!!! If we want the victory in our spiritual warfare/battles, we must do this!!!

We must also do this: James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

We must also do this too: Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

You betta’ know this: 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…(Know your bible!)

And finally do this: 1 Thessalonians 5:1 pray continually,

Let’s review:

1. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, 

2. Put on the full armor of God.

3. Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.

4. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking…

5. Pray continually…

This is spiritual warfare basics. Get these things under your belt! When Jesus was on earth, this IS what He did!!! God did not suggest that we do this!!! He told us to do this!!! It’s for our spiritual benefit!

In our earthly spiritual environment we are dealing with this:

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

These evil beings do not have more power than God. In fact, they have already been defeated by Jesus. But still, we must be aware of their tricks, temptations, and schemes. They do inhabit our world. If we could see with our eyes in the spiritual realm, we would never want to leave our house!!!

But there is no need for us to hide!!!

Look what Jesus did for us……

Colossians 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Yeah Jesus!

There are a lot of words that can be used to describe satan. I think this word really fits him and his evil crew… “diabolical”. This means they are extremely evil, cunning, and cruel. If we have an enemy that is that awful, shouldn’t we be up on how Jesus defeated Him and up on Gods instructions for us to follow pertaining to dealing with such evil?

We cannot stick our head in the sand or hide underneath the covers.

1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Satan and his evil posse are all over the place trying to catch us being weak, distracted, and unknowledgeable about their plans to disqualify people from the kingdom of God. For those of us who are destined for the kingdom because of our acceptance of Jesus as our Savior, they want to rob us of our rewards, fruits and embarrass us before the cloud of witnesses. They want to shame us before our Father God! But God has a message for us: 1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

In the following verses the bible uses the word “schemes” to describe the devils plans for us. A scheme is a devious secret and crafty strategy to systematically destroy a person life. Satan’s objective here is our eternal demise. As soon as we entered our mother’s womb, the plan for our demise was implemented! But God’s gift of salvation had already been put into place!  Be confident in that!!!! We must move ourselves over to Gods plans. I did that when I accepted Jesus as my Savior and decided to get water baptized to seal that deal. I moved over to Gods plan when I decided to submit myself to God and obey Him. I’m able to accomplish this with guidance from the Holy Spirit!

There is additional help to give us strength in the battle! We actually have WEAPONS available for us to use against Satan’s attacks on us!!!!!

Ephesians 6:11-17 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

 WE HAVE THE VICTORY VERIFIRED BY THESE SCRIPTURES!!! 

Thank you, God, for all you have done for us so that we don’t have to deal directly with satan! Thank you for all the help and peace these scriptures and many others offer us!

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Psalms 91:1-4 1Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

“Fear not” is mentioned 365 times in the bible. One for each day of the year which means we never need to fear. I know God doesn’t want us to fear. I’m human and lately things have been intimidating enough to strike up some fear in my heart and in the hearts of many others. We all have a difficult road ahead of us with all the world crisis going on all at same time. Satan is acting like the boogieman bringing up images of his damage and scenarios that might happen. This is his job. This is what he does best. He’s not going to change but we can change how we deal with his scare tactics! We cannot let satan get a foothold over our emotions! We cannot let him, and the demons intimidate us!!!

On 9/11 a brave man named Todd Beamer was on flight 93 and saw there was a plot involving evil people to take over their plane and send it into the White House or the Capital Building in Washington, D.C. Todd Beamer came up with a plan, and got other passengers involved. After he hatched the plan Todd told the helpers he had gathered up, “Let’s roll”. They gave their lives so others may live. We can’t be scared by the devils’ schemes either! God came up with a plan for us. God got Jesus involved and Jesus has revealed to us God’s plan and said to us, “Let’s roll!!” “Let’s go save some lives!

Jesus has changed the outcome for us! How? He already defeated the enemy and changed our outcome! We have help available to us now, and eternal life available for us later.

We’re gonna be ok ya’ll. Gods got us! Jesus batted this one out of the park for us! We are safe! Let’s get others to safety!

THE DEVIL HAS BEEN DEFEATED!!!!
