Please make sure! Quiz at the end.
In the beginning of our quest for eternal life most of us started at Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
But then one might ask, who are we now as a Christian and how did we get there?
A Christian is a person who heard about Jesus from someone, the bible or from a divine revelation from the Holy Spirit and believed that Jesus Christ died and rose again for their sin. This person confessed with their mouth that Jesus is now their Lord and Savior. But wait there’s more. This person has experience deliverance from their old fleshly nature and has had a renewal of mind to obey God’s commandments.

A true Christian has been delivered or rescued from spiritual death. We call that being saved. Every human being was born once. But a Christian has been born twice. The first time was from their mother’s womb. The second time was when they made Jesus their Lord and Savior. This is called being born again.
Christians experience salvation, which is to be spiritually delivered or rescued from sin, evil, bondage and danger.” Galatians 1:3-4 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
We need to be delivered from the evil one!!!
What else is needed to become a Christian is “repentance.” This is a must! Repentance is having sincere regret for your disobedient to God and His word. It’s also having deep remorse for your sinful ways.
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Being a part of Jesus Christ family means you now have a purified soul!!!
1 Peter 1:22-23 Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart. 23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
Jesus accomplished our holy transformation by our spiritual cleansing and rebirth through the power of the Holy Spirit. I guess you can say that we were rebooted and reprogramed for kingdom use. We got a spiritual make over! We are NOT them same person before we accepted Christ, received mercy and were delivered.
Titus 3:4-5 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
How can you tell if you are not really a Christian? The following scripture is pretty straightforward. 1 John 2:3-4 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.
There are people who think they are saved, and they are not and there are those who are, but slip back and their walk with the Lord is not up to par which is called being backslidden.
Luke 8:13-14 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
If you are not sure where you are at spiritually there are scriptures that can help with that.
Take the Christianity quiz: 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
Colossians 1:23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
This is no time in this year of 2022 to not get this right. This blog will I pray help you to make sure your Christianity is real and true.
Luke 13:23-25 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
(This is my personal experience with Christianity. In 1983 I became a committed Christian. I said thought I was a Christian before, but I probably was backslidden. In 1983 I took my faith in God to the next level. I became 100% sold out for God. I wanted to live right so bad! In my heart and mind there was a huge change in me. Prayer, bible study, and church attendance was my thing now. I was thirsty for God! In fact, I became obsessed with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit! Just talking about God bought me to tears all the time. I feel so in love with God and tried to be obedient to Him. My life became a living sacrifice. I am a Christian through and through.)
