Getting Beat Up For Christ sake

Paul was whipped with rods

Galatians 6:17 Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

No Paul did not get tattoo’s with Jesus name on his back……He had real scars! Paul was like a Timex watch…”He could take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’.” God indeed had preserved him.

Paul made this statement in his letter to the Galatians. I think the powers that be was getting on his last nerve with their arguments over the law and were questioning his authority. You know how folks can be. Paul had preached a lot and he had been through much for the cause of Jesus Christ and he had the scars to prove it.

2 Corinthians 11:24-28 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.

What more could Paul have done to prove his deep commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I think Paul should have held out his arm to those people and said……”speak to the hand!” But instead he gave them a good talking to. Paul loved the Lord so much and was very committed to serving Him and had a great concern for the churches. He put himself in so much danger and was very often attacked because of his beliefs.

1Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

I think about myself and think what have I done for the cause of Christ? I do know I have suffered greatly and I believe it’s because of my long history of being a prayer intercessor.  In the past 7 years I’m more determined to share my faith with others. Like Paul….I count it all joy because the work God has done in my life  is worth more than gold to me. I have learned and earned because of the marks in my body I bear. I’ve learned about God’s comfort, His protection, the bible, His faithfulness and so much more….and I’ve earned rewards and one day a crown for the suffering. I am so blessed.

James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

I may not have been shipwrecked or pelted with stones but I have suffered things for the cause of Christ and I daily submit myself to the Lord to use me as He’s sees fit. I often pray for the persecuted church because even in this day there are still people being tortured for the cause of Christ.

Are we prepared to stand up for Jesus Christ? Are we prepared to defend the faith, to spread the good news ….even at the cost of our discomfort or even our very lives?

Message for today: Let’s give everything for the cause of Jesus Christ. Let’s pray for those who are on the front lines…..the missionaries and the persecuted church. Let’s get rid of the fear of sharing our faith and stand for truth when it come to Jesus Christ. Let’s get out of our comfort zone and make some more disciples…win some souls….get some marks.

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”

WARNING! ! ! EARTHQUAKE in NY AFTERSHOCKS

After the shock of today’s earthquake in New York I decided to change my blog topic. I am not shocked at today’s events…not one bit.

I have written 2 messages God gave me about these coming times; one in 2008:

Message given to me by the Lord in 2008…Put your spiritual ears on

And another message just a few days ago:

God Is Trying To Tell Us Something

I am going to say what I feel God is saying to me. (pray and search the word about it)

I have been praying for souls since 1985…about 26 years now. Every day…. that is all that’s on my mind….well also this…that believers love the Lord so much and obey Him. I believe God is using Christians in this day to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ but I feel many people are not. I believe God has implemented His plan and I feel its happening. I believe the earth is groaning like a woman in labor waiting for all God’s power and Glory to have its way when His plan for this earth and mankind is fully manifested. These labor pains have intensified and are being revealed at this present time.

His plan is that He, Jesus and the Holy Spirit knows what it takes to get the bride ready and they have implemented their plans of drawing all men to God through Jesus Christ.  Intense calamities are one of the biblicial ways that have proven successful in the past in getting ones attention.  Suffering will either make you bitter or better…and I’m thinking here….better…..Either you’re going to seek God or you’re going to run.

This is a time not to be fearful, afraid, apprehensive, and anxious….but is a very special time of testing and trials.  We should consecrate ourselves, be prayerful and available to our Almighty Father.
There is a lot of suffering going on and we need to understand and discern what God is doing.  We need  to be aware of the reason for certain situations that we, our friends and loved ones are going through. We must pray and move in the direction He leads us to.

If you serve in the church…serve. If you feed the poor….feed them. If you’re called to intercede….pray like crazy. And for everyone to do…spread the good news.

There is a special anointing on this time. Plug yourself into God…..listen for His voice…abide in Him and Him in you…this will assure you of being in His will for your life. God hears the prayers of the humble and the righteous. Listen to the Master……please….He is speaking.

Pray for wisdom…..Know who you are in Christ…. Involve yourself in daily prayer and bible study…know who you are in Christ…..be the Christian you are and stand up for what is right.
Time is short and it’s no time for playing games with God……no lukewarm christianity. God has prepared you for this season…..be completely dressed in your armor….be ready for battle.

Jesus already won the battle……so let’s move out…let’s roll. The “AFTERSHOCKS” are going to increase….don’t get prayed up….be prayed up….get that walkie talkie out and stay in constant communication with the Father…..know where you are to be and what you should be doing.

Everything is going to be alright…..we are not alone….God has promised in His word to be with us through everything…..He promised us mercy, peace and He has given us so much grace.

Message for today:
Mathew 24:3-8 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Those who have ears….listen to what the Spirit is saying…………

See to it that you are not alarmed !!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus said this in the scripture above.

God Is Trying To Tell Us Something

Revelation 2:11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I am no great theological genius….far from it in fact….But I do have a pair of ears. God has been speaking to the Church…to us in His word. His word may have been written a long time ago, but the bible is a living book and every word that is in it is relevant for this month, this day, this year, and this very second.
It’s a good thing to read the book of Revelation often to hear Jesus messages to the Churches. This I believe will keep us excited about our future and keep us continually moving in the right direction.

I do believe God is speaking. I just got a vision while writing this. Remember when we were little kids and we made a telephone by using 2 paper cups and a string and you and a friend would each put a cup to your ear? That’s what I see. Or maybe you were trying to eavesdrop and listen in on conversation by putting a glass to a wall. You might think by now I was a nosey child….but my point is…..I see us listening in on what God is saying. He is speaking to us in His word …….and….He is speaking to us individually. He has clear instructions and direction for us who have spiritual ears. If you are a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ….God has a word for you. Put your ear on the glass and press. Get very quiet and listen. The Spirit of God is speaking through His word.

I will tell you what I feel the Lord is saying to me. I feel God is telling me to:

1. Put Him first before anything or anyone including kids and husband and to love Him with my body, mind , soul and heart. I feel I should love God like crazy.
2. Share the good news of Jesus Christ….be smart and discerning about it, with boldness and wisdom…..and most important …follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.
3. Keep check on myself…..be a person of good moral conduct….a person of integrity….and know I’m representing the Lord at all times.
4. Love other people especially the unlovable.

More things God is speaking to me about:

1. There are things happening on earth that are historic. Plans have been laid out in heaven. Many people are and will be affected. This is a time for us Christians to be serious about our walk with the Lord.
2. This is not a time to fear but a time to trust.
3. These are valley times for many…but much growth will come.
4. Those who belong to Christ will be a light. Many will want to know about the light and will follow the light…now is the time to shine for the Lord.
5. This is a time to let go of the worlds things….and set your house in order…lay your all at His feet.
6. Be very thankful for everything you have.
7. Know your bible because without the knowledge of the living word…you have no weapon in the battle.
8. The battles are getting much stronger and harder….but we have the Spirit of God and have power from on high.
9. The future…..is Jesus Christ….Because He lives you can do what?……face tomorrow.
10. All power belongs to God…..God is about to expose His power to the world and has already started…..put your ear to the glass…learn what He is doing and what your part is in this…..be obedient and be in His will. No matter what you are going through….He will use you…if …you are available. Give yourself away to Him! Throw yourself at His feet and say…use me Lord. OBEY THE HOLY SPIRIT….when He speaks to your thoughts/mind or when He speaks to you through the Living Word…the bible. God is speaking, God is speaking.

Revelation 2:11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Those who have ears

Message for today: God has something to say….are you listening?…..Is His word speaking to you?…….Do you have on your spiritual ears? God may give you a dream, a vision, or speak to your heart…be ready to receive from the Lord.

Are You Sitting On Your “Bum” For The Lord?

John 15:1-4 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

The British meaning for the word bum is buttocks. I think bum sounds cute but if you’re sitting on your bum for the Lord that is not cute and God doesn’t like that at all. We as Christians should be producing fruit in our spiritual lives and this means living according to Galatians 5:16,22(walking in the Spirit and fruit of the spirit) and spreading the gospel, helping our neighbors, widows, orphans, the needy, those in prison etc. We should live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. We should worship Him, obey Him and serve Him.

If we abide in the Lord we will produce fruit

How can we be His if we do none of these things? Well we can’t and there are people right now going to church and they think they will go to heaven because they are in church….but they will not make it in. This is what it says in Mathew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

If you are producing fruit in your life you will know it because God will be pruning you so that you will produce more fruit and He does this through testing and trials. It’s His way… so seek His grace and don’t try to understand everything you go through…. just be satisfied knowing that it has a purpose in your life. Recognize the purpose, grow from it and keep it moving….endure….run the race set before you.

Her face tells the story! Labor hurts!

You know how us woman keep having babies. Well for you men out there…I can tell you it hurts a lot…I know I had 5 deliveries. Every woman knows how bad it hurts…..but yet…..the knowledge that we will have this level of pain doesn’t stop a woman from having babies since the first woman to have a baby….Eve.(I hope God has Eve in a mansion in the back with security because I’m gonna be looking for her LOL!)

Pruning is very good for producing more substantial fruit

God’s pruning does cause us pain but the knowledge that we Christians have pain will NOT keep me from loving and serving the Lord…..because I love Him and I know if I endure my suffering there will be a great reward of eternal life with no pain and the best part….I’ll be with the one I love so much forever…God my Father.

Each of us Christians are producing fruit and are being pruned in different ways. Each person’s trials and testing’s are tailor made for them. God is an excellent gardener and knows how to plant, water, fertilize and yes there’s that pruning. We are to produce not only fruit but fresh fruit. We can’t get by on old fruit…things we used to do. No matter how old we get….we must continue to abide in the Lord and let Him make us into what He would have us to be. He is doing a WONDERFUL work in us. This is why we must count it all joy when we are pruned…it’s for our benefit, advancement, character building and spiritual development.

Will people say you are a chip off the old block?…Meaning you closely resemble a parent in character or you are a piece of a large block of wood…a chip? God’s terminology for this is He is the vine and we are the branch. We cannot produce any fruit unless we remain in Him…walk in the Spirit…. daily walking with Him……making it an everyday routine to stay closely connected to the Lord…the vine… by prayer and bible study.

Message for today: Stay on the Vine….it will pay off in time.

P.S. – If this pertains to you…get off ya’ “Bum”  (smile)

God said “You’re Planning to Do What?”

Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

There is a song with a line that says……”And if you wanna hear God laugh, tell him your plans.”
God has plans for us…..are we following those plans or are we doing our own thing?

It says in Proverbs 20:24 A man’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?

I’m gonna tell you…I don’t know what’s best for me….I act like I do and then I get myself in all kinds of trouble.
I’m married to a very wise man. Many people seek him out for his counsel on many different areas of life, business, etc. I seek him out many times too and when he gives me advice and I don’t follow what he says I always wind up getting into a mess and then I say to him….”I should have listened to you!” Don’t we do this to God sometimes? The Holy Spirit gives me good counsel….and then I go out and do what I want to do ….and you guessed it…..a mess!…and then I go and do the same thing again. Hey…am I the only one?

I bet God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit crack up laughing at us and all of our antics. I know I keep God rolling off His throne laughing at me and at my crazy schemes.

Ok…so here’s what not to do. Don’t go around borrowing money because you need money for some need.   Here’s a good one…. you’re going to help God provide for you…you don’t really need to trust Him…..maybe you can borrow some money from your 401k or from your retirement . What? You’re having a problem with your kids? You’re going to call Nana to come stay at your house to help you with that problem child? Yes we are always trying to help God out!

Ok ….so here’s what you do…..You’re going to follow this scripture… Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Then you are going to…Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. That’s from 1 Peter 5:7 And because you have given all your troubles over to the Lord… you are not going to ask Him after you’ve pray for you need what is He going to do for you because it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Now we know all of God’s plans will work out because it says in Romans 8:28  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Need I say more? We don’t need a plan when our God is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. God doesn’t need my smartness….He needs my humble reliance on Him only. That’s all….no planning….scheming….plotting……finagling. He makes it very clear in His word to…..Cast all you care on Him….all of your cares!! If we don’t do this we will get those lessons that teach us that there is no way out except God. I’ve had MANY of those lessons over the years…they work…they teach you to rely on God…..God will pluck out everyone around you so you only see Him as your source of help. I’m giving you the heads up here. Don’t thank me just drop your plans and take all your concerns to the Lord!

Don’t even think about it…..Planning!

Message for today: God is looking at you…..that plan you have hiding behind your back? Ditch it……because I can hear God laughing at it.

Who Am I….Really?

Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

I am a born again Christian and when I became a Christian….I became a new person….I was changed. The old ways that made up who I was fading away and the evidence of the new me was emerging. Because I became a born again Christian….I now have the Holy Spirit living inside of me and He is my constant guide in my new nature.

I have no problems exhibiting these fruits of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control………when I’m under the full control of the Holy Spirit……but sometimes…..OK…..A little more than I would like to admit to……I get into my fleshy self……then I have to repent…..and get to that place where I am walking in the Spirit of my Holy God. How I wish that I can walk in the Spirit 100% of the time……but we are human…yup…last time I checked I still live here on earth so…I’m still human.

I want to produce this fruit all the time… so I know what I have to do. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalms 119:11. I also have to do this: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths Proverbs 3:6. I have to let go and let God…through the power of His Holy Spirit ….leading me and guiding me.

Who am I really? Am I this loving, peaceful, joyful, Patient, gentle, faithful, well behaved good person? I have to say…..I believe so because of the work that Christ has done in my life….who is the author and finisher of my faith. He has started this good work in me and He WILL complete it. I want Him to…..I love Him and I want my life to reflect Him in me. ……I love Him and I want my life to reflect Him in me…..Yes I said it twice…I want to honor God with this! The more I pray and the more I study His word the easier it is to obtain these goals.

When I don’t do these two things…it is an uphill battle up the rough side of a steep dangerous mountain and I can get lost. When I follow the lead of the Holy Spirit….I have a guide….when I follow the Word of God (bible)….I have a light for my way. WALK IN THE SPIRIT YA’LL….WALK IN THE SPIRIT! Who are you……really?

I’m a born again believer in Jesus Christ…….can you tell…who I am?

Message for today: Know who you are……really….and walk that way….and produce some good fresh fruit!!

The Transition…Beam Me Up Lord!

Transporter room - Star Trek TV Series..."Beam Me Up Scotty"

2 Corinthians 5:1-7 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Today I hear the Lord telling me to talk about dying. God does not want us being fearful about this inevitable event that will happen to each of us. Paul is very clear in the scripture above that when we are not in our human fleshly body we who are in Christ will be present immediately with the Lord….we will be……transitioned. Transition means to move from one state to another. I like calling it… “The Transition” because I feel like I’m moving from my earthly home to my heavenly home and it’s a natural move that I was expecting to make one day.

My husband and I are Star trek fans and one of the famous saying was …“Beam me up Scotty”. Beaming up was when a person wanted to get back aboard the star ship, they would ask the transport engineer person to beam them up and a machine would make them disappear from where they were to back on the ship. When I get sick of my suffering here on earth I sometimes want to say to the Lord ……“Beam me up”!! When Jesus comes back for us in the rapture of the church He will do just that.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

There was a little children’s prayer that I used to say before bed time:

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
if I die before I wake,
I pray for Lord my soul to take.

This prayer used to make me at scared when I was a little kid….that I might die in my sleep….WHOA!!!…..but as I got older I felt this poem gave me a peace in a knowing God would have my soul…..as an adult I didn’t teach this prayer to my kids…..it’s kind of a downer.

We should not fear dying and we should not want to die because of dissatisfaction with this life. We should want to be in the presence of the Lord at our appointed time and we should as Christians be encouraged to know a great place awaits us and we will have no more suffering.

Paul says in Philippians that he would rather be with Christ….Me too….I so long to see my Saviors face and to experience God in person….and then there’s that mansion…ok…just kidding…..I want to see Jesus….one day. Beam me up Lord!

Philippians 1:23-25 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,

My Mom - Loved The Lord 1928-2011

My mom went home to be with the Lord in February 2011 and although I miss her so much… I’m so happy about her transition. My mom loved the Lord and she was not afraid to die and talked openly about being with the Lord. She loved us and wanted to be here for us but she loved God so much more.

Let’s have a different view of our death today. Let’s view it as our transition to a beautiful new life. In the book of Revelation it speaks about all the great things that‘s awaiting us in our eternal life and we are to be encouraged by this. I am looking forward to being with the lover of my soul Jesus. I’m going to endure every trial…every situation… every earthly discomfort because I know there is a great reward and rest from all my suffering. While I’m waiting to go, I’m going to serve the Lord anyway I can….thus….writing my blog!

Message for today: In life we go through many transitions….but the greatest transition will be the day we get to see the face of our beautiful Savior. Glory Halleluiah!!

Thinking About Our USA Military Men and Women… Our Brave soldiers

2 Chronicles 32:8 With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

Dearest United States Military,

I think about you all the time and pray for you. I also think about all our veterans who have already served. My dad who is 85 years old is a Navy veteran and He has been telling me His war stories and I’ve learned that it’s not easy going to war but that you do it for our country and for our freedom and the freedom of others.

Being a soldier takes training skill and facing many challenging circumstances.  Boot camp alone is the first big challenge.  I’ve seen many of my son’s friends go off to boot camp and they me tell how hard it is….but necessary. Many of you have husbands, wives and children and must leave them and go off to war. That alone is a tremendous sacrifice. Many of you get injured and many die in battle. When I hear about these sacrifices my heart hurts for the families.

To all our precious soldiers and their families, I care about you so much and I want you to know that although you don’t know me I am praying for you and I know there are many other Christians out there praying for your safety and strength as well. We prayer intercessors and prayer warriors got your backs in prayer. You will probably never meet us, but it doesn’t matter….we don’t need to because God knows where you are and who you are.

You all are so brave to do what you do!! I truly admire your strength, duty and honor that you bring to our country. And you women soldiers…..I call you Diva Soldiers….why?….Because you are my she-ro’s…..You’re right out there doing so great! You see ….I would not have ever made it past boot camp….if fact…I would have never got on the bus LOL! I’m a big chicken….so I take off my apron to you….wave it around and say….thank you!

I want to say thank you to you all and I encourage you to hold on to your faith in the Lord our God. He will be there for you….He promised that He would in His word. Please pray very often and read your bible if you are not already doing that. It should also be part of your equipment for the battle.

I have been in many battles myself….one is with my health and the fight of my life… cancer. This is my favorite scripture verse that I have used in many of my battles: 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (please read your bible for more encouragement)

One Last thing I want to do is pray for you:

Dearest Heavenly Father,

I come before you today because you are my Father and you have all power in your hands. I ask you to help each and every soldier from every branch of our armed forces and ask you to give them your strength and peace. Guide them, give them wisdom and courage. Lord keep them safe and give them victory over their difficult circumstances. Protect and keep their families secure, safe and strong while they are away from them. For those who have lost loved ones give them comfort. For those who are lonely and are missing their families give them peace, and for those who have been injured, give them healing and strength. I thank you for what you are going to do and for all the victories. I ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ……Amen.

Deuteronomy 20:1 When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.

Please read my blog……Are You Afraid Of The Boogie Man?
https://godspeaks-i-listen.com/2011/07/16/are-you-afraid-of-the-boogie-man/

Message for Today: The battle is the Lord’s……..but……..you’ve got to take Him with you in the battle. Is Jesus in you…….good……start praying …..You’ve got His attention. If Jesus is not in you the see your Chaplin ASAP, write me in the side bar……or talk to God right now and repent of your sins and believe in Jesus today. God bless you all!!
