September 11, 2011 A Day of Reflection

I knew that I wanted to write something for today…..but what?…..what could I possibly say?….Could my words help or add to anything? Honestly I don’t think so …….but I do want to say something.

That day is a permanent part of our history in the United States of America and there is not one American who will ever forget what happened to so many innocent people.

What are people thinking after 10 years? Looking at the news this week and hearing the stories again I must say for me it still hurts and I can’t believe that it happen 10 years ago. Not only do I still feel the hurt but I have to deal with the terrorist who caused this pain. I am still working on forgiving and praying for them because they are still an everyday threat.

Many people are still angry and questioning God ……still asking why? I can only think of the bible story of Job:
His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. Job 2:9-10

Job had so much loss in his life….his 10 children…his home….servants…..cattle….and livelihood. What tragedy what pain to go through?
Why all this suffering? Why would God allow 9/11, the Oklahoma bombing, hurricane Katrina, the space shuttle explosion, the tsunami, Martin Luther King’s death, John and Robert Kennedy death, your moms, your dads, your husband, sister, brother, Childs death?
The answer is……..there is no answer that we in this mortal form can understand. We cannot understand the mind of God.

1 Corinthians 2:16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

We can reflect on:

1. The wonderful memories of those who were loss.
2. The grace strength of God that has been given to those living with the loss of a loved one and those first responders who are ill as a result of that day.
3. The unity and strength that is renewed in our country.
4. Our brave military still fighting for our freedom.
5. The faith, Love, and charity that was showered down on all who suffered because of that day. People gave their time, talent and money.

Of all the things we have been through as a country we with the strength of the Lord have come through it all. History proves my point. We have survived and we will survive! God bless American….land that I love!!!!

Message for today: We will never forget 9/11 and we will never forget God’s grace, peace and strength.  God  has given so many people this wonderful thing called grace to get through this horrific act of terrorism. The Lord will keep us in that peace as long as we keep our eyes on Him. We need to continue to pray for each other and for the safety of our country. We also will remember to pray always for our USA military that fight for our protection and freedom. My prayer is…. God bless America and will continue to be so…. always. Be encouraged today….reflect, pray and keep all you hope in the Lord.

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

Romans 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Gossiping is Bad… How NOT to do it

Proverbs 11:13 A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

1 Timothy 5:13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to.

I’m not going to lie…there was a time that I gossiped and listen to gossip a lot. I’m not proud of that fact but it’s the truth. Even when I became a committed Christian I still did it and listened to it. But at this point in my life…. and having been living a Christian life now for 27 years…. I have gotten much better. (Thank God…right?) I have to stay on top of it because the temptation is always there.

The reason I am doing better with this these days is because I abide in the Lord and He in me. Also I walk in the Spirit. (This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16) This is what happens to me now when I’m faced with the temptation to gossip. My mind thinks the thought I’m about to say. I can hear my thoughts before I speak them and the Holy Spirit taps me on the shoulder and says “don’t say that”. And if someone starts to tell me something about someone else…I stop them and say I don’t what to hear that.

I do my best to be 100% at this. I have to be very discerning because I’m a prayer intercessor and there are times I have to listen to a person tell me their problem or someone else’s problem because they are asking for prayer. If you are a blabber mouth…nobody would ever ask you to pray for them.

Many years ago a person spread some awful things about me in my church. One of my friends overheard her telling lies to a group of ladies. I was so hurt and angry. So I did what then?….you guessed it….went straight to the pastor ( poor pastors…they get this stuff all the time). He was so nice and very wise. He told me not to confront her….he knew her and knew she was not the nicest person so confronting her would be like backing a squirrel into a corner…so his advice was to leave the situation alone. He said her personality would expose her and he was right. A few months later she cursed out someone in church in front of everybody.

Gossip is very destructive…. to the person who is being spoken about and the person doing the gossiping.

Message for today: When gossip comes your way….. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

A Prayer Request For Answers and Healing

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

First let me say that I believe this is my year for manifested healing for a medical condition I have suffered with.

I can remember being very tired as a child, having some sort of learning disability and a variety of aches and pains. Fatigue grew worse as I got older and I had great difficulty keeping a job because of this. I managed to get married and have a family but it was very difficult managing housework and the kids. I adapted and concentrated on raising my 6 children. Looking back I can see the grace of God all over me….oh how the Lord helped me to take care of my kids and home.

Then my health took some turns that were much harder to adjust to. In 1991 I was sitting with my kids watching TV when I was struck with a sudden bout of severe weakness. It almost felt like I was having a stroke. My family call 911 and I went to the ER. By the time I got there I was feeling better so they sent me home with a diagnosis of allergy reaction.

This was the beginning of many years of these unexplainable episodes. For the first about 8 years I had them several times a day every day. I lived in the ER and have been to almost every hospital in the New York area even Boston MA. In the middle of all of this I’ve had a hysterectomy and a mastectomy as well as other surgeries and illnesses. I’m left with permanent weakness in my legs and chronic fatigue. My husband is so wonderful and has been through all of this with me and has always been very supportive and so have my children.

This has been going on for the past 21 years. I wrote a little bit of my story on a past blog and someone read it and wrote me saying it sounded like what they have. I presented this rare illness to my doctor who agreed.
There is a specialist in Pennsylvania who sees people from all over the country because he is good at diagnosing people with rare conditions. This doctor is not on my insurance plan….but a dear friend is paying for me to see this specialist  on September 13, 2011 at 2pm. (God is so good!)

I’m asking for my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for me that God will reveal and heal me in Jesus name. There is power in prayer……..my own son was healed of the devastating effects of cerebral palsy…so I know…God is a healer! I am grateful for doctors and I will go to this doctor…but my hope is in the greatest physician…. my Lord and my God.

Will you agree in prayer with me? Thanks so much!

Message for today: I put my trust in the Lord who tells me in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all my care on Him…….I’m doing just that.

Labor Day…The benefits of working

People who work.....Hey they look happy

Proverbs 10: 4, 5

4 Lazy hands make for poverty,
but diligent hands bring wealth.

5 He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

I admire people who have jobs because I have not been able to since I was 18 years old because of my health condition and I’m 59 now. I’m happy that I was able to raise 6 children and keep my home running well through it all.
I look at you guys who have jobs and I say to myself…look at all I’m missing:

1. Getting up early and seeing the sunrise…and for some seeing the beautiful sunset.
2. Having a boss or supervisor…someone to look up to.
3. Having great co-workers.
4. Someone to celebrate your birthday with.
5. Having people to give you a party…shower, baby, retirement.
6. Someone to have adult conversation with during the day.
7. Free perks…baseball tickets and more.
8. Always getting to eat out.
9. You get a vacation
10. You get money…a paycheck and even bonuses.

You guys don’t play when going to work. One day I had to be up at the crack of dawn to go somewhere and I was driving my car…. I was scared of you all. I felt like Mr. Magoo out there on the road…you guys drive so fast and everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere.

One day I went to a doctor in NYC and I had to take the train home during rush hour from Penn Station to the Long Island Railroad. I’m a slow walker because of my legs so my daughter who lives in the city met me at the station to help me get to my train and even came in the train to make sure I got a seat. There was a million people (seemed like that many to me) trying to get onto one little train. It was wild I tell you.

I’m so thankful that my husband and the Lord is my provider and I thank God and my wonderful husband for taking care of me. The bible does say a lot about people needing to work for a living. You can thank the first human beings for having to work really hard…..oh what were their names?…..like I forgot that…..Uncle Adam and Aunt Eve!!
Adam did have a little job…I think God never intended for anyone to get a free ride…Genesis 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

But a problem arose and this was the result:

Genesis 3:17-19

To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’
“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”

“Oh man!……come on Adam….what were you thinking….you don’t mess with God like that!!”

Praise the Lord for your job!

Message for today: Well…to all those who have a job….and have to or choose to work…God bless you!! Keep up the good work! Oh……and happy Labor day!!

Mary said:

Ester 4:16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in
Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and
my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even
though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

Joshua said:

Joshua 24:15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to
you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods
your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in
whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the
LORD.”

Ruth said:

Ruth 1:16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you
or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will
stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.

Mary said:

Luke 1:38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary
answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel

David said:

1 Samuel 17:45 David said to the Philistine, “You come
against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the

Tanya Nemley (Your blogger) Says: Love the Lord like
crazy
.
Love Him with every part of you. Love God, Love Jesus, Love the Holy
Spirit every minute of every day and don’t let your love for God grow dim..not
even for a minute.

This morning as I woke up I was thinking about all the
people in the bible and some of the great quotes that have been said.  Everybody has something that reflects their
heart.  Can you please share yours with
me today?

My mom who went home to be with the Lord always said this:

“Weak people lie, strong people tell the truth.”

She taught this to me and my sister and all her
grandchildren and great-grands.  My saying,
love the Lord like crazy is worded a little rough but it’s what I feel I do and
it reflects who I am. No…come on…I’m not crazy LOL…I just love the Lord so so
much and I want everyone to love God that way.

When my 6 children were born they all had a medical issue
and I made a promise to God that if He spared their lives I would raise them to
know and love Him….and I did do that and I know they do.

Message for today: Have you left your mark on this world?

What would people who know you say you always said? ….Your
famous quote is……………

What Time Is It?

Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

It is time to go into the entire world and tell all people….neighbors….friends….family….co-workers…acquaintances.…..and complete strangers about the good news of Jesus Christ. It is the time and has been the time since this great commission has been given.

In the past few months we have had, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, hailstorms, fires, extreme heat, and tornados. Many people have lost their lives and have lost their houses, businesses, cars and belongings. The emotional effect that all of this has had on people is tremendous. Right now we know that people need financial help to get back to a place of physical comfort…but people also need hope and encouragement.

This is the TIME for us Christians to be discerning, wise, spirit led, gospel spreading, love overflowing, encouraging, caring, helpful, Jesus imitating, people that God wants us and has instructed us to be.

What time is it? It’s time to tell others about the good news….John 3:16….so others might experience God’s grace and mercy for their lives. Many are upset, confused, and discouraged by all that has happen to them right now and there are many hurting souls that are looking for answers and help. It’s time to speak up…..to walk the talk…..let our light shine….lead folks to the light…our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mathew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

To my Christian brothers and sisters out there…..please share your faith and the hope you have with anyone the Lord leads you to. I know it’s challenging to start talking about Jesus to people, but you are not alone in this….the Holy spirit does the big work….He’s already working on people before you open your mouth….we need to be ready, prepared and available. The time is now…..this is your season. The Lord gave me this message today…..God speaks…I listen….and share.

Message for today: Somebody is waiting for you to share your faith…..Your neighbor has been watching you… to see how you a Christian…. is handling your stressful situation….Your co-worker loss her home and is depressed…..how will you act….what will you do…what will you say…. What time is it?….look at your watch right now….that’s what time it is….yup….it’s now…Let’s roll!

Depression Sometimes Can Happen…Personal story

Depression….Darkness….Despair

Psalms 42:5-6 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

I used to be ashamed of this story I’m about to share with you….but I don’t care anymore because life is short and if my story can help someone….then I’m going to tell it.

I can remember being depressed and suicidal as a child and then as an adult. I’m not going to get into the dark details about it because then you will get down hearing my sad story. I will tell you that depression is a very dark hole that swallows you up. You cry a lot and feel you are all alone and that there is not one person who understands your internal pain. When you look out from your depressed eyes you see dark, gray, and blackness….nothing is bright…nothing is joyful or happy.

The worse part of depression is the total hopelessness. I tell you…a person cannot live and survive with no hope. You just keep sinking and sinking into a valley of dry bones screaming silently in your dismal pain and internal agony.  Now I’m getting down just describing this very sad place to be in….But I’ve got a great…no… fantastic….  a good ending to this story.

One day when I was at my lowest point in 1982… I knew I wasn’t going to last much longer in this state of mind. I had tried therapy, medication…everything…nothing helped…but I hadn’t tried God.  Someone had given me a Good News bible and I had never read it….but one day I decided to give it a try. I didn’t know what to read so I thumbed through the book of Psalms until I got to Psalms 86:

1 Hear me, LORD, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; 3 have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.

4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.
5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you.

6 Hear my prayer, LORD;
listen to my cry for mercy.
7 When I am in distress, I call to you,
because you answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like you, Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours.

9 All the nations you have made
will come and worship before you, Lord;
they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds;
you alone are God.

11 Teach me your way, LORD,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths,
from the realm of the dead.

I read this Psalm and cried over this page in my bible until it was soaked. I asked God to help me. This was the beginning of an amazing transformation. I was always artistic and loved making things. I started making corsages with some silk flowers someone had given me and from there floral arrangements. I bought some how to books from a craft store and did my first wedding and then many more weddings. Then I started doing craft shows……wait a minute…where was the depression? Going going, gone!!! One day I realized that I wasn’t crying, sad or feeling down. It was amazing!! God had healed me of depression and I was happy. I didn’t even know how it felt to be happy every day. What an odd feeling!!

I will never ever forget this awesome miracle God did for me. After this I threw myself at the feet of Jesus Christ who made all this possible for me and I have never left His feet since. I will bow before the Lord all the days of my life.

If you need a healing from depression miracle God may not answer you the exact way He answered my prayer otherwise everybody would be making floral arrangements LOL……but the Lord will help you if you call out to Him. He will help you in a way that’s best for you. It might be instantaneously or over a period of time.

If you are reading this and have a very serious situation please seek medical help right away.

If you suffer from depression seek help and get a plan for yourself….Ask Jesus to help you and follow His lead. I suggest you talk to a pastor for spiritual counseling on this matter. Look for a good solid bible believing church and go. There is a way out of your suffering… for me…..it was the faith that I was raised up with as a child that caused me to look to the only person in the world that could help me…..Jesus Christ!

Do what David says in the scripture above…. “Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
It wasn’t by chance you can across this blog today…….I want to pray for you:

“Dear God,
I’m asking you to help everyone who reads this blog today who is suffering from depression. Lord I know what you have done for me and I know you can heal people from this very sad and painful mental illness. You said in 1 Peter 5:7 that we should cast all our care on you because you care about us. I pray that the person reading along with this prayer has made Jesus Christ a apart of their life and that they will put their hope in you. Thank you for the miracles that I know you will do. In Jesus Name…Amen”

You Can Be Happy

Message for today: There is hope for depression….get a tissue…blow your nose…wipe your face…. Pray….ask for the Lord’s help……..dust off that bible or go buy one……get moving….Help is on the way……..I care about you…that’s why I wrote this blog because I know what you’re feeling….but so much more than me….God cares about you!

Getting Beat Up For Christ sake

Paul was whipped with rods

Galatians 6:17 Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

No Paul did not get tattoo’s with Jesus name on his back……He had real scars! Paul was like a Timex watch…”He could take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’.” God indeed had preserved him.

Paul made this statement in his letter to the Galatians. I think the powers that be was getting on his last nerve with their arguments over the law and were questioning his authority. You know how folks can be. Paul had preached a lot and he had been through much for the cause of Jesus Christ and he had the scars to prove it.

2 Corinthians 11:24-28 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.

What more could Paul have done to prove his deep commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I think Paul should have held out his arm to those people and said……”speak to the hand!” But instead he gave them a good talking to. Paul loved the Lord so much and was very committed to serving Him and had a great concern for the churches. He put himself in so much danger and was very often attacked because of his beliefs.

1Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

I think about myself and think what have I done for the cause of Christ? I do know I have suffered greatly and I believe it’s because of my long history of being a prayer intercessor.  In the past 7 years I’m more determined to share my faith with others. Like Paul….I count it all joy because the work God has done in my life  is worth more than gold to me. I have learned and earned because of the marks in my body I bear. I’ve learned about God’s comfort, His protection, the bible, His faithfulness and so much more….and I’ve earned rewards and one day a crown for the suffering. I am so blessed.

James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

I may not have been shipwrecked or pelted with stones but I have suffered things for the cause of Christ and I daily submit myself to the Lord to use me as He’s sees fit. I often pray for the persecuted church because even in this day there are still people being tortured for the cause of Christ.

Are we prepared to stand up for Jesus Christ? Are we prepared to defend the faith, to spread the good news ….even at the cost of our discomfort or even our very lives?

Message for today: Let’s give everything for the cause of Jesus Christ. Let’s pray for those who are on the front lines…..the missionaries and the persecuted church. Let’s get rid of the fear of sharing our faith and stand for truth when it come to Jesus Christ. Let’s get out of our comfort zone and make some more disciples…win some souls….get some marks.

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”

WARNING! ! ! EARTHQUAKE in NY AFTERSHOCKS

After the shock of today’s earthquake in New York I decided to change my blog topic. I am not shocked at today’s events…not one bit.

I have written 2 messages God gave me about these coming times; one in 2008:

Message given to me by the Lord in 2008…Put your spiritual ears on

And another message just a few days ago:

God Is Trying To Tell Us Something

I am going to say what I feel God is saying to me. (pray and search the word about it)

I have been praying for souls since 1985…about 26 years now. Every day…. that is all that’s on my mind….well also this…that believers love the Lord so much and obey Him. I believe God is using Christians in this day to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ but I feel many people are not. I believe God has implemented His plan and I feel its happening. I believe the earth is groaning like a woman in labor waiting for all God’s power and Glory to have its way when His plan for this earth and mankind is fully manifested. These labor pains have intensified and are being revealed at this present time.

His plan is that He, Jesus and the Holy Spirit knows what it takes to get the bride ready and they have implemented their plans of drawing all men to God through Jesus Christ.  Intense calamities are one of the biblicial ways that have proven successful in the past in getting ones attention.  Suffering will either make you bitter or better…and I’m thinking here….better…..Either you’re going to seek God or you’re going to run.

This is a time not to be fearful, afraid, apprehensive, and anxious….but is a very special time of testing and trials.  We should consecrate ourselves, be prayerful and available to our Almighty Father.
There is a lot of suffering going on and we need to understand and discern what God is doing.  We need  to be aware of the reason for certain situations that we, our friends and loved ones are going through. We must pray and move in the direction He leads us to.

If you serve in the church…serve. If you feed the poor….feed them. If you’re called to intercede….pray like crazy. And for everyone to do…spread the good news.

There is a special anointing on this time. Plug yourself into God…..listen for His voice…abide in Him and Him in you…this will assure you of being in His will for your life. God hears the prayers of the humble and the righteous. Listen to the Master……please….He is speaking.

Pray for wisdom…..Know who you are in Christ…. Involve yourself in daily prayer and bible study…know who you are in Christ…..be the Christian you are and stand up for what is right.
Time is short and it’s no time for playing games with God……no lukewarm christianity. God has prepared you for this season…..be completely dressed in your armor….be ready for battle.

Jesus already won the battle……so let’s move out…let’s roll. The “AFTERSHOCKS” are going to increase….don’t get prayed up….be prayed up….get that walkie talkie out and stay in constant communication with the Father…..know where you are to be and what you should be doing.

Everything is going to be alright…..we are not alone….God has promised in His word to be with us through everything…..He promised us mercy, peace and He has given us so much grace.

Message for today:
Mathew 24:3-8 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Those who have ears….listen to what the Spirit is saying…………

See to it that you are not alarmed !!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus said this in the scripture above.
