Los Angeles Fires…Why?

Watching the news about the fires, I kept hearing those that saw this with there own eyes use the word “apocalyptic”. In the recent Louisiana killings people said, “it looked like it was out of a movie”. The recent crisis’s are getting so horrific that people are at a loss of words.

I know I have written a lot about these types of things in my blogs over the years. I do it to try to bring some hope and prayers to help people process this all. The main direction I go in is spiritual because that is where I look for and get comfort.

I won’t make you read the whole blog to get the answer to why. Looking across every disaster that has ever been recorded about in history no one has ever been able to give anyone a clear answer to that question. So, I can’t give one either. Whether one believes in the bible or not, it is a historical book and gives clear answers about what is to become of this world. I am going to share some of those scriptures in this blog today. While “why” cannot be answered to bring some kind of closure, there are a few things we can do. While we can surely pray for help and know God will work things out, we can also provide support for those who need us. I’ve seen the BEST of humanity in these situations!!!!

Hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, floods, fires, mass killings, accidents and so on. At this point many are asking the question “what is going on?” After 9/11 many people flocked to their house of worship to find out what in the world is happening and is this the end. After the initial shock wore off things went back normal and stopped seeking answers as to why this happened. Since that time the list of disasters is so long that it’s surreal. People are still asking why.

You might be a follower of one of the 4,000 plus religions around the world or you might not follow any religion. I can only speak to you in light of my own religion, Christianity. There is a prediction in the New Testament of the Holy Bible that explains what is to come on this earth:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2). People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3). without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4). treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5). having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Mathew 24:3-8 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us, “They said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

We are truly in the end times of this present season of God’s plan for humanity. The bible says that Christians will be removed from the earth and the antichrist will have his way with humans for 7 years and cause great distress on humanity. But before he’s revealed there will be signs that the end is near. We are in that time now!!! Everyone sees the signs and is reacting in shock and fear. What does this mean for you? It all depends. For me a Christian, it means that I need not live in FEAR. Tragedy can happen to me, and I surely have experienced suffering, but Jesus Christ has made me promises in the bible.

This scripture can save your life: Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

This scripture can give you hope: Deuteronomy 31:6Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

This scripture can bring you help: 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.

Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

There may come a time that things might be so horrifying for you that it may seem like death is a breath away. We must not live in fear of bad things happening to us or our family. It’s unhealthy and stressful to live that way. Jesus is the good shepherd, and He will be a comfort to us in these difficult times. Even in my most extremely painful times I’ve gotten incredible strength from the Lord. He is truly a comforter! We are not going to understand or get all the answers as to why suffering came into our lives, but I can tell you that incredible strength is possible with the help of the Lord. I would like to pray for all those who are going through the extremes of life:

“Father God, there are a great many people who are going through some of the worse trials that a person can go through. Some have lost homes, loved ones, jobs even their whole community. Some are suffering from devastating illnesses. Lord some are experiencing great fear and anxiety.

 I am asking you to please help those who are looking up into the sky with their hands up and those who are on their knees crying out to you for comfort…. please help them!!! Father God, we thank you in advance for all the help you will bring their way.

Surround them with people who really care about helping others like our former president Carter who died last week and helped so many people in need. Lord…people need love and compassion right now. I’m so glad that we can come to you in prayer. I ask these things in Jesus’ name…Amen.”

1 Peter 4 12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

I read this today and I was reminded to….trust God!!!

I must let God know that I completely believe in His ability to take care of me!!

I must be like the woman with the issue of blood reaching out for Jesus help because she truly believed in her heart and mind that Jesus could and would heal her.

I am speaking to someone today…you have been asking God for something and He is telling me to tell you…don’t just ask but…..BELIEVE that He can do it!!!

Faith moves the heart of God.

Pray to God…asking in JESUS name as the Lord has directed us to do.

Be confident…God’s grace is there for you!

God’s word is true!!!

Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.

The Lord wants me to share this verse with you today.  Jesus understands everything that we are going through!  Praise the Lord!  So we need to hold on tightly to our faith in our High Priest!  When we pray…we should be bold and confident!  And this is the part that touches me so…..

GOD WILL HAVE MERCY ON US…..HE WILL FORGIVE US….CLEANSE US AND THE GRACE OF GOD WILL BE THERE FOR US WHEN WE ARE GOING THROUGH OUR TRIALS!!!!!!!!

God said He will be gracious to whom I will be gracious ( Exodus 33:19)  And His graciousness is for me and it’s for you!  I need a god who will extend mercy to me and who will be with me and help me in my time of trouble.  This makes me feel safe and secure.

No matter what you are facing today….meditate on Hebrews 4:14-16….Be encouraged!

Valley Experiences with God

Psalms 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Let’s get right into it…..A valley experience is a period of time where you feel alone (even though you are not) in your suffering or trial…. whether physically or mentally. It’s a time that is very difficult and extremely hard to work through. It’s not death…but it can feel just as difficult emotionally to deal with.

It can be a time where you pray and you feel as if God took a trip into the galaxy and forgot to take his Iphone….or you pray and you feel as if your prayers come back stamped…return to sender.

The valley experience is a time that:

1. You need to know and remind yourself that you are Gods child.
2. You know Gods word and His promises to you.
3. That there is a divine purpose for you being the valley.
4. You are really at a strong time in your life because the Lord is strong in your weakness.
5. You grow spiritually.
6. You learn of God’s sustaining power.
7. You learn how to walk your walk in the Lord.
8. You learn how deep your faith is and Gods further development of your faith.
9. Any doubt you may have is exposed.
10. You seek out the prayers of the righteous.
11. You need to be in church…around the saints.
12. You will find strength in your praise to God.
13. You are an example to others who know your situation and see your strength.
14. Brings you to the next level in the Lord.
15. Helps you reflect on your mountaintop experiences and reminds you of God’s power.
16. You learn patience and about waiting.
17. You learn how to be still in the Lord.
18. It’s OK to moan, groan and cry out to the Lord.
19. You will experience the comforting and healing power of the Holy Spirit over your life.
20. You will see and experience victory first hand.

Here is my personal experience with valley seasons. I really don’t enjoy being in the valley….but I’m very grateful to God for them because I know it is for my spiritual growth and I never want to remain in the same place wih God.
When I’m down in the valley…I feel numb spiritually…..Like I’m just going through the motions of my Christian walk. I know I’m saved, I know that I’m a child of God but…..I don’t feel all the awe and power of God at that moment…I know it…but I don’t feel it. This is why we must not always trust in feelings. Feelings and emotions have their place in our lives…without them our lives would be very difficult. But we must know and trust in God’s word that we have studied and hidden in our heart.

Wait on the Lord

When I’m down in the valley I know it and I say to myself…come on now… not out loud….I ain’t crazy just in the valley….I say…”Girl….you are in the valley and you need to get that valley chair out of the closet and have a seat.” So I sit and I hum to myself….I might hum these songs…It is well with my soul…or Amazing Grace. My best valley song is… His eye is on the sparrow. I can be down in that valley pit for quite some time…that’s why I get the chair. I wait until God sends down a rope and pulls me out and I walk on with a renewed spirit.

Spiritual Growth in the Valley

I used to yell….help…get me out of here! I can’t take it anymore. You said you wouldn’t put more on me than I can bear. God can you hear me? Are you listening? Are you to busy up there? Is your watch broken?….Yep….I really said all this stuff and more. But I have learned to get the chair out so I can wait, sing and pray.

One more thing…..I want to tell you that the enemy (you know that liar satan aka the devil) will harass you like crazy. But you having studied the bible on spiritual warfare… know to have on the whole amour of God. You know how to submit yourself to the Lord and resist all his attacks on you at this difficult time. You know how to trust God to see you through…so you don’t have anything to worry about. You got this….right?…. right?…Can I get an Amen here?…Come on… Praise Him now!

Message for today: You will  at some point in your life walk through the valley of the shadow of death….you may have to sit a while…but you will come out with the victory. The victory is God’s divine will and way for you to get through your valley time/ trial that He has allowed you to go through for a season (a period of time) under His watchful eye.  He’s got your back…so don’t you go a stressin’ yourself out. Wait on the Lord….Wait I say on the Lord. (Read 1 Peter 5:7)

God is Able to take care of you!

Please watch my video. I sang and gave a testimony at my church a week ago and the Lord gave me a word for everyone. I know it takes time to watch a video, but it’s the only way you will be able to hear the message.
I love you all and I’m always thinking about those who follow my blog. I wish all of God’s blessing on all of you and I know……GOD IS ABLE TO SEE YOU THROUGH…..ANYTHING!     NOTHING IS TO HARD FOR OUR FATHER GOD!!! ….Can I get an AMEN?

Someone is thinking about not going to church tomorrow. You feel down and don’t want to be around anybody. There is sadness in your heart. Get up and get dressed tomorrow…..go. This is the will of God and He will bless you. You need to be around your brothers and sisters in Christ. Ask for prayer. Listen to the word being preached. God will lift your spirit!! Jesus will take your burdens. Go Go Go to the house of the Lord Go.
