Being Happy In The Midst of Hard Trials

It’s 6 am and as soon as I started to seek the Lord I realize I’m feeling happy in my spirit. As singer James Brown says in one of his most famous songs “I feel Good”. How can this be? This morning I have a painful sinus infection so I’ll be seeing my doctor today, I suffer daily with many medical conditions and have to take a lot of medication, I’ve had past financial catastrophes that are still hanging over my head,, my mom just passed in February of this year, my car is 14 years old…and on and on…. need I say more.
But despite all this I AM HAPPY!!! Why, how can this be? I have put my trust in God and He has given me His peace and strength. I live off of His daily mercies and I’m filled with His amazing grace.
My mother in law who is with the Lord now…..Alice Nemley…..suffered with so many physical ailments. She had too many surgeries and hospitalizations to count. One of her most challenging problems was congestive heart failure. She would go into cardiac arrest on several occasions and had to be put on life support, but she always survived. I could not believe all she went through. One day I asked her “mom how do you go through all of this and still keep going?” She paused and the handed me a small book. I felt like Dorothy in the wizard of Oz when she was looking for answers. The name of this book was….Asked for Healing Given Grace by Margaret James. This book is still available, Here’s the link:
I was like……I asked you this deep question and you give me this little book. ( I only thought that I didn’t say it out loud) I glanced through it briefly but didn’t look at it until just a few years ago.
I remember being very sick and thinking that this was just too much for me and that little book turned up while I looking in a draw for something. I sat down and read that book all in one sitting and cried. What a healing in my heart and spirit man that day. I have thought a lot about my mother in law….Alice Nemley….. and what she bravely went through. I didn’t know it then that she had given me such a wonderful gift. I got her message to me after all!
God knew just when I would need that book. He saw it in my future and made sure it turned up just at the right time. To God be all the Glory!
So yes…I’m going through a lot………BUT……..GOD!!!!! I can’t say enough good about Him so I’ll just say BUT GOD. I want to leave you with some scriptures:
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Lamentations 3:22-23 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Message for today: You can be happy in your trials….. if you trust God…..read the scriptures…..and pray!

1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
I woke up this morning feeling… I am in a battle! Well I am and you are too. Although I’m feeling the warfare all around me I know I’m equipped for this battle. I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, I have the Rhema word hidden in my heart and I know there are angels all around me. Jesus has already won the battle , He intercedes to God on my behalf and I KNOW God is watching over me!
Our enemy is real and He is the devil AKA satan. Do you want to know what in Hell is going on? Well the devil is causing a lot of chaos this year 2011. Everywhere you turn you can see his little handy work. The Lord is speaking to me loud and clear not to be intimidated by his tricks and scare tactics. Gods is saying “ Be alert” !!!!!!!!”
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and turned from your wicked ways then you should be scared….very very scared!
If you are a Christian have no fear. I want to share this true God-dream with you that I had in 1984 the year I accepted Christ. There are just dreams, but this was a God dream of instruction and deliverance for me.
When I became a Christian I started having dreams and visions right away. I felt God’s presence in a powerful way but I also felt the presence of the devil. In fact I was so scared that I had to wake my husband up to take me to the bathroom at night. In one of my early God-dreams I saw myself running from a dog. It was a german shepherd. You see I was chased by a german shepherd when I was a child and was so afraid of any dog.
I kept having these dreams and I finally told a brother in my church that was very wise in the Lord. I told him how scared I was and He said “don’t be”. He said the devil does not have power over me and can be defeated by saying the name of Jesus. He told me a story of the devil appearing to Smith Wigglesworth one night and how he rolled over and saw satan sitting on his bed and said” oh it’s just you” and he turned back over and went to sleep. Well that night I was sooo scared that my husband had to escort me to the bathroom. LOL
But soon after I had another dream and of course the devil in the form of a dog was chasing me…but this time I didn’t run…I turned around and said” be gone in the name of Jesus” and in an instant the dog was gone.
I was never afraid of the devil after that dream. I got the message and the victory!!
So what in hell is going on? You guessed it….the devil and his little cohorts are causing all this mess!!! His efforts are stepping up to destroy people’s lives and to drag as many people to hell that he can get BUT because of JESUS CHRIST he is defeated!!! You need to be a child of God by accepting Jesus Christ as you personal Lord and Savior, pray and fast. Read your bible and get the word of God in you. Submit yourself to God and obey Him.
Study this scripture and do it…… in fact… memorize it:
Ephesians 6:10-18 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Message for today: The devil’s got a plan…..but you know the man!!!
I have a special message today for someone who is reading this. I don’t know who you are but God does:
Don’t feel defeated…the Lord says to you…”I am with you and have always been. You have been in hard trials lately but I’m right there with you. I have seen those tears and heard the moans, but know this: I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS…you are NOT alone in this. I have dispatched a host of angels just to watch over you. There is a purpose for this battle in your life. I will reveal some things now but many things you will not understand. Wait and be patient dear one. Cheer up and hold on. I have my powerful hand extended to you. I will lead you and I will guide you through this difficulty. You will get the victory! You will see my plan come together. My will will be done! Wait on me! Wait for me to move. I am revealing myself to you to keep you focused as you await for my blessing. Wait I AM here! I love you so. From the Lord of host….”

1 John 5: 14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
I felt the Holy Spirit searching my heart this morning asking me about how much I believe in God’s word, His promises and my confidence in Him when I pray. Uh oh…….I’m in trouble now! Now don’t get me wrong…… I do believe, but sometimes I do doubt or forget the awesome power that God has. Sometimes I even get a little mad and say to myself (definitely not to God) “well He’s gonna do what He’s gonna do anyway.
Many hard trials are a confidence buster for believing what God can do, but this is why we stay in prayer, read and meditate on His word. When we do these things it is a faith booster. Even when we are weak momentarily in these areas God has provided a very unique help for us.
It is His rhema word. (It is a word that signifies the action of utterance- Wikipedia) When we hide God’s word in our heart, the Holy Spirit will get His word that is hidden to us at that moment and put it into our mind and we remember the word and faith stirs up in us and our confidence soars. We then come boldly into His throne room and ask God, believing.
We don’t ask amiss and have a good idea what His will is because we know what He has promised us in His word. We then patiently wait for an answer. We should keep our eyes on Him throughout our trial praying at all times while waiting for that prayer to be answered.
Believe………….Believe……………..believe!!!!!
Remember also how important it is not only to believe but ask in God’s will.
When my kids were little the ice cream truck would ring his bell and when they heard it they really believed I would buy them their desire……Ice cream. I would love to give them ice cream every time that truck came down our block (which was about 5 times a day LOL), and I did get them ice cream sometimes but I had to use good judgment and know what was best for them and say no. God is like that with us…..He uses good judgment.
Message for today: Pray to God your wonderful Father………trust His decisions ……..But also… do get your Belief on!

Jeremiah 18: 1-4 1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Did you ever see those makeover shows on TV and the person comes out looking like a hot mess and then “woola!” they come back out and they look amazing? Well God does makeovers like that too. We can be a spiritual hot mess….but the master has all the right stuff to make us beautiful inside…..a makeover.
God said to me today I need a makeover, a remolding, a renewal, a refreshing, a change and a reshaping. No He was not talking about my full figure self ( well maybe that too) but me as a child of God, who I am as a person…..my attitude, my emotional self, my mind, my behavior, well….all of me. OUCH! I recently read this scripture Psalms 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: I said to myself no way because I know that there are things I don’t want to face about myself and then wait for a trial that the Master will use to fix me.
Even as I write this I feel bad about thinking that way. I have a lot of trials going on in my life right now so I don’t want any extra test and trials….but wait…….these ARE the trials and test that are remolding me!!! ….Whew! I’m wiping my brow right now! I have told the Lord to change anything He doesn’t like about me in the past during intense prayer.
This is why I need to get into that secret place with the Lord because when I am that deep in His presence I am so much more submissive to His will because I feel His powerful presence ….I’m more aware of my weak flawed flesh. I’m so humbled before my almighty Father. His Holiness is too much for me to even gaze at. God looks at my heart when I’m deep in the spirit of prayer and He finds things and reveals them to me then I confess my sins to Him and Jesus forgives me. He will fix the problems we have through trials and test so you will learn to not do the negative sinful things again. Come on now…. you know how we humans are….let’s be real…I know I’m not the only one. I want to do right things all the time but like it says in the bible…..the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. (Matt.26:41).

1 Thessalonians 4:17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
As soon as I began to pray today the Lord said to me He is coming back soon!! ….Very soon. We are going to be caught up. I kept hearing that word in my mind “caught up”. I have a charm bracelet with many charms on it and sometimes depending on what I have on it can be tricky wearing my bracelet. I’ll raise my arm and my blouse will be caught up in the charms and snatch my blouse up with the bracelet in an instant.
That’s how we are going to be caught up with Jesus. First our loved ones who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will be caught up and then all living believers will go. This will happen instantly. Are you ready?..…are your family and friends ready?….. Have you told other people about Jesus so they can be caught up?
Do you have your good pajamas on? Let me explain this statement. When my children were little I taught them about the rapture and every night before they went to bed I would say: “do you have your good pajamas on because Jesus might come back tonight”. I would try to make them so excited about His return. Of course we know Jesus can come back at anytime day or night, but it was my special thing I did with my kids. Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour” (Matt.25:13)
Message for Today: Don’t get ready….be ready for the Lord’s return.
Remember the story of the 10 virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)
Note from my heart- There has been much talk lately about the day Jesus will return and the Bible is very very clear that nobody knows. But God gave us clues in the bible. As a prayer intercessor I sence this and I know there are others out there who feel this too……it will be very soon. There are too many things going on right now on this planet not to figure this out. Truly these times are like a woman in the last stages of labor. Pray fervently everyday for people to believe in Jesus Christ….time is running out…..I can hear the Lords footsteps…….getting louder, coming closer…..my heart beats hard with anticipation. The bridegroom is coming for His bride. Are you ready……. Do you have your good pajamas on?
The Supernaturalness of God

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

10these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
A website’s dictionary meaning of the word supernaturalness is: a quality being attributed to power that seems to violate or go beyond natural forces. I would like to add….. That man can understand or explain.
In my prayer time with the Lord this morning I experienced the supernatural with God. I have physical manifestations and I can feel what feels like oil being poured on my forehead. I have had this phenomenon happen a year after accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I had this happen this morning. I also saw several visions. Some visions were of people I am to pray for and one vision was a white dove flying.
God presence was on me in a powerful way….it was real…..I felt it and it is unexplainable in human terms. I have held peoples hands when I was praying and they have told me they felt what they described as electricity from my hand to theirs. I have told people things that I could not possibly have known. Does this happen to me all the time…….”no”…..Does this mean I’m special…..”No way”. God is no respecter of persons and He uses all His children in different ways. If you are available to God He WILL use you.
To understand the supernatualness of God you have to study the bible carefully and understand His attributes and then you have to spend time in prayer and God WILL reveal Himself to you by the power of the Holy Spirit. You must seek Him and trust Him. When it comes to having this supernatraul relationship with the Lord I trusted Him like a little child with his father. I didn’t question God a lot I just wanted more and more of Him and He kept doing more things in my spiritual life and showing me more visions.
I WANTED MORE OF GOD SO BAD that for the first about 7 years of my born again life I prayed up to 8 hours a day almost every day. My husband understood because God was doing special things in a different way with Him. Family members thought I was a little strange. I would not answer the phone or go out at during those prayer times.
There is no other Being like God in the WHOLE universe!!!!! He is unique, different, unusual……He is nothing that we can even begin to imagine or explain. He is superpowerful and can create things out of thin air and make anything disappear. He can make people…look in the mirror. He makes planets and galaxies. He can speed up time or slow it down or make it disappear because He has no time constraints. God is awesome!!
And guess what……..I’m His daughter……this powerful awesome supernatural God is my Father! And if you are a child of God He’s yours too.
I thank God for my special time with Him this morning. I so pray what I have shared with you today although it might be a little strange and personal will inspired you to hunger after God and ask Him to reveal Himself to in a much deeper way than you are use to communicating with Him. He is gentle patient and kind and would never force Himself on anyone or make you feel uncomfortable. Trust Him like a child. Open you arms and cry out for your Abba Father. Our Dad is there to be everything a supernaturall father can be to you….if you let Him. God bless you I’m praying for you!
Message for today: Yes God is supernatural but even so He can and is so willing to reveal Himself to you. He can do this through the power of the Holy Spirit and because of the sacrifice of His precious and only Son Jesus Christ who bridged that gap between you and God and put you in a right place to receive blessings.

Psalms 91: 11, 12 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
Today God reminded me of 3 wonderful gifts that He has given me. There are many others but this is what I needed to hear today.
Angels have many duties for God and one of their duties is to take care of me….and you. I could list out the many things angels have done for us in the past but you might want to do your own study because it’s a lot of examples in the bible. God wants me to know He has provided SUPERNATURAL assistance for us 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year…. for every second of our living here on earth. That is awesome people!!! How special is that? Wow!
The next thing He told me this morning is He has put EVERTHING we need to know about Him and life in the bible. The bible is the bestselling book in the world! It has survived the most critical scrutiny and is still powerful because it is the living word of God. Once you read it it’s in your mind and heart and the Holy Spirit will bring the word of God right back to your mind when you need it. Oh I so needed to remember this today. Thank you Lord!
So let’s see….we have angels….the living word of God…the bible and we have love. Love is a gift God gave the world. (John 3:16) He gave us and show’s us what love is and we are able to give and receive love. I think if we as humans don’t receive love we would get very depressed and eventually lose our mind. ( To get love we need to give love….a little hint for today)
This morning as God is ministering to me I feel His love and not only His love but other love that He’s given me through other people on earth…my very loving husband, my wonderful adult children who have been showing me soooo much love(thank you..I love you too) my parents, family and friends.
Because of the message the Lord has given me today I feel good in my heart right now. It’s His love is working in me and for me.
Message for today: God is all over me!! My comings and my goings are covered. I should not walk in fear…..I am blessed!
Dwelling in the secret place

Psalms 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I am in the secret place of God this morning. Oh how I love being there. Tears flow out of my eyes because I can feel His presence and His love. His Holy Spirit is revealing His heart to me and we are connected. He knows my thoughts and I can feel Him searching my heart. I feel like a child needing their father, I feel like a patient needing their doctor, I feel like a wife needing her husband…..I feel like I have all that and more.
He speaks to me so softly and gently. My mind and heart is seeking Him ….hungering for His thoughts and He is revealing Himself to me. The Holy Spirit reveals to me the scripture written above. The scripture now burns in my heart and mind and I know the Lord wants me to share this with you.
He says “Tell them to meet me here too. The secret place. A place that no other man can see …..It’s our secret place we are meeting in. A time you carved out for me and a place only you and I are at. It’s the deepest part of your mind and heart reserved for me. I love being with you and I feel I have your undivided attention there and I pour my heart out to you and you do the same to me. We experience oneness in that space of time. I hear you calling my name and as you cry out in worship my purpose for creating you is complete to me. I love you my dear child…….I love you”
Message for today: Find a quiet place, anywhere….car….home……closet….right where you are now….pray…talk to God…..He’s waiting ever so patiently. He has all the time in the world…..do you?
The Blessings of God…Being Thankful

Proverbs 8:32 “Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.
Psalms 84:4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.
I’m so ashamed to say this….but sometimes I’m not grateful enough for what God has given me. Not only am I not grateful enough but I forget sometimes what He has done for me. I don’t intentionally do it…..I believe it human nature to want more, want better, and to live our daily lives without even thinking of all the blessings we’ve received from God yesterday.
I’m being honest here and revealing personal things about myself because at this point in my life (I’m 58 years old) I don’t have anything to hide. I just want to be real with God, myself and others. Life is short and I want to grow as a person and encourage others along the way.
The spirit of God let me know today as I prayed how blessed I am. I’m not talking just financial things but physically, spiritually, emotionally….. In fact in every area of my life everyday….24/7.
I’m in my right mind (for the most part 🙂 , I can walk, talk, breath on my own, go to the bathroom (hey you know for some this IS a blessing…just being real here). I have a roof over my head, food to eat( I guess a lot food since I am overweight) I have clothes, a car, some gas(smile) A loving husband, and wonderful adult children, a cute grandchild, I’m happy, have the grace and peace of God, health insurance…..well I could go on and on but you get my point. Even writing this out I fell even more blessed.
I love the Lord so so much and I serve Him and obey Him and the bible says many promises that God bestows on His children when they do right by Him. Just giving your tithes to the Lord will cause Him to open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing.
I feel so blessed this morning. Yes I still have many things going on in my life and there will be more difficult trials to come BUT…when you get into an attitude of being grateful for past and present blessings …..it will keep away the stressings!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Message for today: We are so blessed By God even if we had nothing we are still blessed. The greatest gift mankind has EVER known is that there was a man named Jesus who was sent to earth by God to put us right with God by sacrificing His life, so that we can have eternal life. Because of this gift alone…….WE ARE BLESSED!
