James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.
In this scripture verse… a servant or bondservant as said in other bible translations means a slave. A slave is one who does not have personal freedom and has to serve another person and is owned by that person. A slave could eventually be set free if the master chooses…but many times a slave would want to remain a slave because of the life support and security of being taken care of is provided for them and their family. In this case they would voluntarily remain a slave for life. They permanently committed to put themselves under someone’s ownership and control.
Like James…Jesus half brother….I am a slave of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!!!! I am under His control! As an African American…slavery is not a word I’m happy about hearing of because of what my ancestors went through in past history…but I’ve forgiven in my heart and moved on with love for everyone. When it comes to my Jesus though….I’m so happy to be His slave!! I want Him to have complete authority and ownership over me!!
“Even if I get to sick or to old to serve my master like I use to I will lay in my bed thinking about Him all day and all night”
I want to serve Him and minister to His every call and need of me in any and every way. I want to bow before Him and call Him my master. I want to be ready for whenever He needs me and I will come running. I want to sit at His feet like a puppy…just happy to be near my master. Even if I get to sick or to old to serve my master like I use to I will lay in my bed thinking about Him all day and all night and remember how loving and kind He has been to me and is still caring for me because I belong to Him…He still owns me. Oh how I love being His slave. Me… a slave? Oh yes….and I’m proud of it!! I love and honor my master and I know He loves me!! He’s even prepared my final resting place….I have NOTHING to ever worry about!!!
Message for today: I love my master….I love my master…My God, My Lord Jesus Christ and my Holy Spirit. I am a bondservant….I’m owned….I’m a…slave!
1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
James 1:1 James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
A bondservant is: 1. A person obligated to service without wages.
2. A slave or serf.
Jesus paid a high price for me….I am bound to Him. I submit myself to His will and way. I am His slave willingly. When I think of all that He went through to save me from an eternal hell and separation from God….Oh my Lord…I’m His slave now! I’ll do anything for Him! Slave is a very strong word…but for me it’s how I feel about my relationship with my Lord and master. I too love being His daughter, child and creation. God bless you!

Tanya, I was wondering where you’d been and here you go, writing another faith-filled, beautiful post! I can’t believe that anybody would want to “own” another person. It’s just not God’s way at all. Still, I’m right with you in saying that we’re all God’s children (I prefer “child” to “slave” because He told us we have the right to call Him Father!)

Girl, you are right on here….and you are the first person I have ever heard forgiving those who were slaveowners. If I had lived during the time of the slavery of African Americans, I would have been one to fight against it 100%. It was so wrong and it makes me angry when I think of how innocent people were treated. You should be a spokesperson!
