Lamentations 3:22-24

 22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

This was my scripture reading for today and I was so moved by it and feel the Lord is saying verse 24 to someone today. “The Lord is your portion!!!!”

I looked up portion and there were several meanings. Everyone had a little something different to express the meaning of that word and they were all good. Some said it means inheritance…some say …share, piece, part, section, and on and on.
My own personal meaning of the verse is that the Lord is all I need and want…He is my shepherd and I will want for nothing and I will put all my trust in His ability to keep me no matter what I go through now and in my future.

The part of this verse that makes me so excited is the word…..”MY”. If that word was not there it would not have the same affect on me. The Lord is my portion….for me…Tanya Nemley. I have my own personal piece of Him. He is there for me!!! The Lord is there for you too! John 3:16 is a great verse because it says the God so loved the world. But Lamentations 3:24 makes that love very personal for those who believe and hope in Him… that we have a special section of the Lord for ourselves.

Do you feel better knowing that there is a part of God that is for you? You are guaranteed your part of the Lord. We have the Holy Spirit living inside of us and that is a very large portion. We have Jesus interceding for us….and God said He will never leave us of forsake us. So are you feeling that portion now?

Message for today:

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
