John 8:1-11 1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
I picture Jesus saying this…… (These are only my personal thoughts and not from the bible)
“You hypocrites….you all are sinners. How dare you drag this woman over to me? You were so sinful that Father God had to send me down here to save your sorry behinds. You have some nerve accusing somebody else of stuff. Who do you think you are? Are you so righteous? You don’t even recognize who I am because if you did….you’d be begging me for forgiveness.
So since you are so blinded…let me open your eyes starting with you over there….Come here and read this….Jesus bends down and begins to write in the sand. The man thinks to himself….”oh my God…I’m so ashamed” and he runs away. Jesus yells…”NEXT” and does the same thing until they are all gone. “
Jesus thought to Himself “doesn’t my Fathers creations realize that they are all born in sin and they Need me? I’m so willing to give up my life for them all.” And He did! Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
What is The moral of this story?
Mathew 7:3-5 Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
When I see my brother or sister in sin I need to do what the bible says to do for them. Galatians 6:1-6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. And of course I need to pray for that person. We need to be active for the Lord…witnessing to the loss and ministering to the backslidden Christians. We need to do this with all gentleness and be led by the Holy Spirit. In this way we can be very effective for the Lord.
