Abortion…Sensitive subject…My thoughts

A lot of talk about abortion recently. My blog on this subject is from deep in my heart and very emotion for me.

I want to talk about voluntary abortion which is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy and why I’m personally against it.

My views on this come from a very personal thing that happened to me with one of my pregnancies. After having three girls… I was barren for about 5 years and my husband and I decided we wanted a son. After much prayer…the Lord gave me a miracle, opened my womb again, gave me a son and told me to name him Joshua. I’m a prayer intercessor (A person who prays for the needs of others). One day while I was pregnant with Joshua… I had a very strong sense of his spirit within me.  I was in very intense prayer and I felt my son’s spirit agreeing with me in prayer.  It was a very powerful moment for me. This was my first…

Don't believe everything

…….Or read without checking for truth.

Acts 17:11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

{Ya’ll know I love you….right. Well something is really pressing on my mind that I need to share with you.}

The scripture above was one of the first scriptures that really caught my attention early in my walk with the Lord. I have based my life’s study of God’s word on it.Don't believe everything 3

WHATEVER YOU HEAR OR READ ADDRESSING THINGS IN THE BIBLE…CHECK IT OUR FOR YOURSELF!!!!!

I hear MANY people quoting preachers, teachers and public speakers and many of these people follow different doctrines. My husband has taught me that whoever I listen to that I should go to their statement of faith, check out their church or ministry and check out where they got their credentials. I have discovered many things by doing this that are contrary to what I believe.

There are also questionable things that these people say that are backed up by audio or video recordings. I know that nobody can present the gospel 100% all the time…but if there are too many questionable things that are not scriptural or out of context…I won’t listen to that person or follow their ministry. I can’t allow wrong information in my spirit because I’m going through too much and life is too hard for me to play with truth.

I’m not going to name pastors or ministries I don’t follow because I feel if people search the scriptures for themselves for truth and not just follow what is being said or taught…they will figure it out.  Ask questions, search, study, discern, use wisdom and pray about all you receive into your eyes, ears and spiritman.

There are a few really good bible teaching ministries out there and some very good bible commentaries. The bible is an incredible supernatural book all on its own and the Holy Spirit is also there as our helper to bring understanding.

Don't believe everything 1

Would you go to a questionable doctor for your brain or open heart surgery? Heck no!! You would want that specialist to be as exact and on point as they can be!

It takes time and work to study the bible. The spiritual demonic forces of this world will try to get you off track. They will doctor stuff up so that it sounds correct and very spiritual….but beware of this deception!!! Search the scriptures for yourself. Your spiritual life depends on you using your free will to follow his will and God said study the word, search for truth and hide it in your heart.

If you do this you will not get a diploma or degree…but you will:

  1. Have power to overcome and get the victory.
  2. Know how to walk with God.
  3. Know exactly the plans God has for you and what He requires in your life.
  4. Be secure in God’s love for you.
  5. Have assurance of what Jesus did for you on the cross.
  6. Have knowledge and wisdom over right and wrong in your life.
  7. Know where you’re going and have hope to hang in there for your great future with God.

This is a time of great persecution for the church. There are many catastrophes happening in people’s lives and on this earth. This is no time to be weak in your knowledge of God’s word. This is a time to obey God’s word. His word says we should be out here spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and making disciples…but how can we do that if we are not having personal revivals because we don’t know God’s word or His will for ourselves. WE ARE THE CHURCH….WE ARE GOD’S ADOPTED AND CHOSEN PEOPLE!   We owe God everything! We owe God us! We are not our own. Our whole life is all about Him. We will know Him when we know God’s word rightly divided. Not man’s interpretation about Gods word but Holy Spirit guided truth of His word scripture by scripture and cross referencing text.

Start fresh today. Make a commitment to reflect on where you go to church and what is being taught.  Also who you are listening to and what you reading.  Are you on the right track for your spiritual development and growth?  Is that word being rightly divided?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

A Very Merry Heart

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine………

Ok…so I’m going there…..something a little controversial because there are few scriptures in the bible of God laughing. This is one where God was laughing at foolishness (Psalm 2:4). Well hey… foolishness is a good thing for Him to laugh at…as long as God is not laughing about my foolishness.

As the scripture above says that a merry heart is good…does that mean that God cracks jokes and falls off His throne in side-splitting laughter? Well He may do that I don’t know. Personally I don’t think He does….but we really don’t know all that God does or doesn’t do.

I’m sure…well not that sure…Jesus laughed when He was here on earth.  I’m assuming this because He was human and there are scriptures in the bible of Jesus showing emotions like crying and anger to name a few… so…

A mighty woman of God…Aunt Mae!

Aunt Mae

Aunt Mae and me. She spoke spiritual life into me! She would say to me…”Now Tanya…God can do anything but fail. He will never let you down”.

This is my Aunt Mae and this VERY godly woman was a big influence of faith in God in my life. I saw Jesus in her!!  She loved everyone and she was there for everyone who needed help physically and financially!!  She had so much faith and prayed for many people including me and my children.

Aunt Mae didn’t get much schooling. She learned to read by reading the bible.  As an adult her vision was very poor so she memorized the scriptures and quoted them to everyone.  She shared her faith with family, friends and strangers whether they wanted to hear it or not. She was the pastor of a Pentecostal church and never married until God blessed her with a husband when she was in her 80’s.

Aunt Mae outlived her husband.  In her 90’s she had to have her leg amputated.  She wanted to go back to live in her home and with one leg she climbed the long flight of stairs to her apartment on top of her church.  God had shown her many miracles over the years and she knew that He wouldn’t let her down.

For many years now…..she’s been in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.  I celebrate her life and legacy.

She lived how God wants us to live in His word and I pray that I’m following in her footsteps and being obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life.

I thank God for my…Aunt Mae!

What happens when our body dies

death what happens

Dr. Judy Melinek who is a forensic pathologist explains what happens when our body dies.

“The first thing that happens when you die is that your heart stops beating and blood flow ceases. Blood then pools in the parts of your body closest to the ground, a process called lividity. Because there is no more blood flow, oxygen-starved tissues stop all metabolic function. Your eyes cloud over, and your muscle fibers lock up in rigor mortis. Your body temperature goes down to match the ambient temperature.

Eventually, bacteria from the gut and upper respiratory tract enter your bloodstream and cause putrefaction, while your body’s cellular enzymes digest its cells, a process called autolysis.”

This makes the story of Lazarus more amazing! “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.” (Luke 11:39)

We are all going to die. Our bodies are dying a little everyday as we are aging from the day of our birth. This is the good news….if we have repented from our sin and accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior…we don’t have to worry about these physical bodies. Jesus said it best when He was on the cross….Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. (Luke 23:46) If you commit yourself to God now your spirit will go to be with God when your body stops functioning on earth.

Death is a reality….spiritual death is a reality….but because you are born again….eternal life is REALITY! Praise God and thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our bodies are going to do what they do…but we can make sure what our spiritual body does!

Psalms 146:4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

1John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

They had fame and fortune. In my youth….I desired that. What did I know as a teenager…a young adult? I thought it would be great to have lots of money. Oh… to hear people screaming my name. I’m a singer and I did desire that. But now that I’m 63 years old and have survived many hard trials including cancer…I have a whole different prospect on what is important in life.

Mark 8:36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

Only God knows where these woman are right now. My concern is for the rest of us. I know that my name is written in the Lambs book of life! I know when I die that I will go to heaven. But what about you?

Our time on this earth is very brief compared to eternity. We are here for about 80 years if God spares our lives. He does want us to have fun and be happy and I have had many many happy times. But as I’m getting older I have had a shift in my thinking. I think about pleasing God and where I’m going for eternity. I think about where everyone else in this world is going for eternity.

I think about how I can tell as many people as I can about the good news of Jesus Christ.

Whitney and Bobbi Kristina, Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Amy Winehouse, Freddie Prinze, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith, John Belushi, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Kurt Kobain, Hank Williams and many others who had fame and fortune died at an early age from self destruction.

All of the money in the world cannot buy the peace, love and happiness that I have in Jesus Christ. It also can’t buy eternal life in heaven. We all are going to have eternal life…but where will you end up? What legacy will you leave behind? What are you doing with your life?

Died in His 30's

Died in His 30’s…..rose in His 30’s 3 days later.

There is one other person who died early…not because He was leading a life of self-destruction…but He died because we were leading a life to our destruction. That person who died early was Jesus Christ!! Short life….but big results ! My hero! My Savior! I love Him! This is the answer for happiness that all the money in the world just can’t buy! It’s a fact! Peace out! Live long and prosper!
