I recently suffered great heartache and it made me run straight into my Father Gods arms. I have to admit that for a very brief moment I thought of calling my husband, a friend or family member like I usually did in the past at the first sign of trouble but did not. But now in the later years of my life I’ve developed a habit of running straight to my Father’s arms. It has taken many trials of God training me to accomplish this biblical lesson in my life.
[ OUR TRIALS SHOULD MAKE US RUN STRAIGHT INTO OUR FATHER GODS ARMS!]
We humans love emotional and physical contact from other human beings when we suffer because God has made us that way. This is a good thing… that we are able to console and be there for one another. I’ve always desired that human contact when a trial comes. I didn’t realize that I should ALWAYS contact God first and then have total faith in my Father God’s ability to help me in my time of need BEFORE contacting others.
I remember when my kids were little that whenever they hurt themselves or something troubled them they would come running to me. One of my adult children admitted to me that when they are hurting they still long for their mother.
Our trials and troubles should make us run into our heavenly Fathers arms just like a child. Why should we run to God? 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. God cares about everything that pertains to us because He is our Father! This is a fact straight from the bible!
We should run to God because… Psalms 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. WOW!!!
THERE IS NOBODY IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE THAT CAN HELP YOU EXCEPT GOD!!!!!!! Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
God can and does use others to bless us but it says in Psalms 121:2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
The older I get the more I find that I’m relying on God more and more for my needs. As I look back over all the battles I’ve overcome and victories I’ve gotten … I see God’s glory shining through it all. He was in everything with me and always gave me a way out! Every time! I can count on Jesus! I can depend on the Holy Spirit! I can trust in the Lord with all my heart knowing that He will never leave my side or abandon me!!!
So I run, run, run to the Lord in the time of trouble. I boldly go to God in prayer and sometimes I even go tearfully and quietly …but I go to God! I do ask others to pray for me…but I go first to Father God!
Psalms 121
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
[THERE IS SAFETY AND COMFORT IN THE ARMS OF GOD!]
The rendition of this song “Run to you” really touched me.

I’m learning this lesson also as I get older. What excellent reasons you give in your post!. Friends and family are only human, and they sometimes fail me, but God never fails. He is so faithful!
May you be blessed with peace as you draw ever closer to Jesus.
