God Speaks I Listen

In the book of acts the disciples started speaking in other tongues and people heard them saying this in their own language….”we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God. “Acts 2:10

What are the mighty deeds of God?

Psalms 77:11-15 I will call to mind the deeds of the Lord; I will remember your wonders of old. 12 I will meditate on all your work, and muse on your mighty deeds. 13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God? 14 You are the God who works wonders; you have displayed your might among the peoples. 15 With your strong arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah

Some old mighty “deeds of God” are the creation, the deliverance of the Jewish people out of Egypt, the making of a man and a woman, the restoration of Jobs family and wealth, the unique birth of Jesus Christ, the many miracle signs and wonder that Jesus did, the resurrection of Jesus Christ and many others.

Some new mighty “deeds of God” is God saving my soul, giving me a wonderful God-fearing husband, all my premature children’s lives being saved from death, healing my son from the severe effects from brain damage/ cerebral palsy, healing me from cancer, and many more miracles and answered prayer in my life.

I’m sharing this to say that we should all be sharing the mighty deeds of God old and new. Of all the things that could have been said through these men in the book of Acts…the power of the Holy Spirit interpreted their language and declared the mighty “deeds of God”. This is called…testifying….something we Christians should be doing about our Father God all the time to each other, to strangers, co-workers, friends and family.
