God Never Leaves Us Hanging…Waiting on the Lord

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

You’ve prayed and prayed to the Lord and ……still no answer. When is the Lord going to answer you…what will He say and when will He say it?

It’s said that there are three ways God can answer a Christian’s prayer….He can say “yes…no…or wait”.
When God says…yes…you get an answer to your prayer right away. You will see the answer almost immediately or He will tell you the answer is yes and you will eventually see the blessing manifested…but God said yes right away.

Then there is the “no” answers… when the thing you’ve asked God for didn’t come through….such as the loan for the new car. God said no and you have to trust His wisdom in that no.

Then there is the…wait…answer. This is when you do not get a clear yes or no. In fact you don’t hear anything. Your ears are open…your heart is open…your eyes are fixed on the Lord and….nothing. Well you think you don’t hear anything…but I tell you there is a lot going on in the spiritual realm on your behalf. God is doing something and just because He hasn’t revealed an answer to you doesn’t mean He has not heard your prayer or is not working on an answer. God does not leave us hanging…He has given us the ability to hold on until the answer (whatever it may be) comes.

God does NOT leave us hanging!

God has given us His word, His grace and His Holy spirit to help us while we wait.

We have everything we need to wait with. Why should we be anxious….haven’t we cast all our care on Him? Haven’t we taken His yoke on us? Isn’t the good Shepherd watching over us and His rod and staff comforting us? Haven’t we put our trust in Him? Did we not lean on our own understanding of the situation? Doesn’t God care for the birds of the air? Can the Lord keep us from falling? Hasn’t He given the angels charge over us? Does God really leave us hanging?

I have to admit to you that I do not like waiting on the Lord but……I have learned how to wait because of the many lessons God has given me over the years. I’m going to repeat them again:

God has given us His word, His grace and His Holy spirit to help us while we wait.

More secrets to learning to wait on the Lord is to pray to Him, worship Him and meditate on His word day and night. This will help you stay focused as you wait on Him.

Psalms 27:13, 14

I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.

Message for today: God never leaves anyone hanging…He will say to you…yes….no…or wait. He doesn’t play games with you and say…well maybe. God will never leave you hanging!

Wait on the Lord

A Prayer for all Veterans

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for all the brave men and women who have served in the Armed forces of The United States of American. Lord…today as we honor them…I pray that you bless the families of all the fallen soldiers. Give them strength and comfort as they continue to miss their loved ones. Please help all the injured and disabled veterans and their families as they struggle to cope with their everyday struggles. Please give each and every veteran your peace, grace and mercy as they call out to you in their hour of need.

I ask this in Jesus name…..Amen.

I saw a vision and have a message for someone

Mathew 9:20-22 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”

22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

The Lord was very clear to me this morning…He said to give these scripture verses because someone needs this kind of faith today. The message for you today is:

The Lord wants you to stretch your faith…reach out…stretch your hand out and reach. Touch the Lord with your faith in His ability to help and heal you. No matter what the need is…no matter what you are going through….humble yourself….even if you have to bow low…even if you must crawl…extend your hand out to the Lord and……touch the hem of His Holy garment.

I’m seeing a vision right now:

I see you on the ground…tired and dirty from what you are going through. After your faith and trust in Jesus carried you to  His hem and you touch it…I see Jesus pulling you to your feet. You are limp like a doll…but He hugs you and strength begins to come back into your spirit man. You stand before Jesus and you look into His eyes and the tears begin to flow down your checks. I see your mouth moving. You are giving Him thanks. I can hear Him saying something back to you. He is saying…”tell others what I have done for you”. (End of vision)

Whoever this message is for…….this is Holy Ground today. I feel the awesome presence of God. Someone has really been going through some things. You are going to be Ok. This is a day to really stretch your faith like you never have before. This is a time to trust all that you know about our powerful God. He can do it for you…He can bring you through this. This is a turning point in your walk with the Lord.

Remember to give Him all the praise, glory and honor due Him for what He’s about to do for you. Expect a miracle!

Be “Filled” With God’s Holy Spirit

Luke 4:1, 14

Vs. 1-Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit,…
Vs. 14-And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit…

Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

I think a lot about sharing my faith, spreading the gospel, and sharing the very good news of Jesus Christ….but I just cannot do this on my own…I need the lead and help of the Holy spirit.

Sometimes I do really bold things for the Lord…..like last week… I just out of the blue started praying for my jeweler. I thought it was a little strange because…well…he’s my jeweler. He did tell me in the past that he needs both hips replaced and he also had back trouble and was always in constant pain.
I have shared my faith with him. I even invited him to my church to have a table as a vendor at a church affair. So Monday the Lord told me to call him and don’t mention anything about jewelry…but tell him you are praying for him. So I did and of course… I could tell by his voice….he thought it was strange too. But as he thought about it he asked me when did I begin praying? He told me he had gotten injections in his back in the past and they never worked but this time was the first time they worked and he said he is still not in pain. I told him God does indeed answer prayer.

I do… “out of the norm”… stuff for the Lord all the time. How do I get the boldness to do these things?

My five best tips:

1. Staying prayed up.
2. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and follow His lead
3. Being committed and submitted to the Lord
4. Being available for God to use
5. Having so much love for God that it takes away the fear of doing things for Him

When we accepted Christ into our lives, we were given a gift of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). Being filled with the Spirit is when I have released my own will, want and desires to that which is God’s will, want and desires for me to accomplish for Him for a brief period of time. I let go and let God. I’m not out of control at these times…just under His control and direction.

Be filled is having God… all over me. He possesses my being with the fullness of His presence. It’s like I look out of my own eyes and I see what He sees, feel like He feels and do what He would do. I feel peaceful, fearless, wise, bold, discerning and powerful. I feel like the child of a king. I feel the power of the armor of God. I feel the strength of His love for me. I feel God’s heart!

This infilling can be just for me at a time of deep personal prayer or it can be for a task that He may have me to do like…giving a word in a church service, giving a word to someone directly, or any assignment God may have me to do for Him. The Holy Spirit gives me the boldness to do these things. Do I always get it right? No…I’m not perfect…but this doesn’t stop me because… not to do it and disappoint God is too much for me to handle. On top of that I find the joy of encouraging people and leading them to Christ is a blessing.

How do I know that the Holy Spirit is leading me? For me…it’s like getting a letter in my spiritual mail box. I just know…I know my Father voice…I sense His presence. It has been a process of doing things for Him and seeing the fruits from it. The lessons will also include times of missed opportunities to be used by Him and resulting in knowing in my heart that I’ve missed the mark on this one and feeling the sadness in disappointing God.

Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit

Jesus had a very powerful ministry when He was here on earth and the first thing that the bible reveals about His ministry is that…..He was full of the Holy Spirit and He had the power of the Holy Spirit. I believe this was a constant infilling because He did so many things in His earthly ministry that everything wasn’t even included in the scriptures because it was so much. He needed the total fullness of the Holy Spirit to do all that He did.

We too need to be filled and operate in the power of the Holy Spirit. We have power when we are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Please do not be afraid to be filled with the Holy Spirit. He is not going to make you do something you don’t want to do or that you are uncomfortable in doing. I have opened myself up to the Holy Spirit to be used in any way God sees fit to use me.

I’ve learned to… take a leap of faith…get my feet wet…take in a deep breath…and just do it.

I want all of God and I want to be filled with His Holy Spirit. Being filled With God’s Spirit brings blessings, fullness and abundance to my life….I need that….I need Him.

Message for today: Be filled with the Spirit.

Seek the infilling...ask God to fill you

Ouch! There’s Something in my Eye

Bob…I’ve got something in my eye. “Don’t worry…I can help you get it out!

Mathew 7:3-5 Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

My blog today is a testimony about how God broke me out of a bad habit of minding other people’s business. Earlier in my Christian walk I did not always stop people when they were talking about other people to me because … “we’re praying for them”. Even before I became a committed Christian…I was what you call a nosey person. I had opinions about other people’s business.

Ouch! There’s Something in my Eye

So after some years of walking with the Lord I heard a awful rumor about a Christian in my community that happened years before.  One day I was at a church service and this person was there and was the speaker that evening.  I could not pay attention to the service because I was too busy thinking about “the rumor”. It consumed me to the point that I cried out to the Lord and asked Him to help me. I will NEVER forget what the Lord said to me….”while you’re looking at Him, I’m look at you…While you are judging there heart….I’m judging yours! This immediately got my thoughts under control and has continued to do so to this day. I love God’s lessons….they will fix you right up.

You betta’ believe I mind my own business now except when I’m on assignment for the Lord and He ask me to attend to someone. I have also learned that God does check out my heart, my motives, and my thoughts. I want Him to…I want to be clean inside. It’s just that I feel uncomfortable now if I gaze at someone else’s stuff…because I always know His eyes are on my stuff.

In the scripture above it says there is a speck in your brother’s eye and a whole big plank, log…tree in the judger’s eye. I think that person may have some kind of sin in their life…but I think God’s view on the person judging the other person  as a bigger issue.  God is the only one who has the real authority to judge another person.

I think if God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit had a discussion about me  it might be like this:

God looks down to earth at me and puts His hands on His hips and says….Look at Tanya Nemley all up in Our business…she has no right to have her eyes on anyone else’s affairs. Is she exhibiting the fruits of the spirit or  1Corinthians 13:4-7 ? Let’s speak to her about this…I know she will listen because I know how much she loves us and wants to obey my word. Well it looks like she got the message…Have you read her blog today?

Message for today: Mind your business before God gets into yours.

The Skinny on Decreasing for Jesus Sake

I MUST

John 3:27-30 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30He must increase, but I must decrease.

One of my favorite bible hero’s…..Enoch, Ruth, Mary (mother of Jesus) and Paul being on the top of my list…is…John the Baptist. John was so totally dedicated to the work of the Lord to the point he didn’t marry, didn’t care about clothes or fashion, didn’t care about what he was having for dinner or where he lived. He went all out for God without thinking of any of his own personal comforts. And if that wasn’t enough….he still wanted to decrease so that Jesus was the key focus of everyone!

I too want to decrease like John….but I have to admit…following John’s exact example would be very hard for me because…I am not eating bugs or sleeping in the woods like he did. I’m just not there yet.
I can work on decreasing though…I want to…I need to! I live everyday trying to be less of me and promote more of Jesus. I find the older I get and the deeper in God I get…the more I feel the decreasing. I feel such a stirring in my soul to tell people…Jesus Jesus Jesus… that I have to try to contain myself. I feel time is running out for me…I don’t know how many years I have left and I want the rest of my life to be about promoting Jesus.  After beating cancer… I feel like I’ve got more time to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and time is precious to me.

In order to do this I must decrease. Why should I do this? Because the Bridegroom… who is Jesus… is the focus of the wedding feast to come. It’s all about Jesus….He’s God’s gift to us.

JESUS MUST

How do I decrease?

1. Put Jesus first in every area of your life.
2. Worship Him deeply and often.
3. Live a life that is pleasing to Him…obey God’s word.
4. Keep your body and will under submission to the will of God
5. Be committed to the work of the Lord.
6. Humble yourself!!!
7. Take up your cross daily.
8. Love the Lord your God with all your body, mind and soul.
9. Pray for boldness and be bold!!!
10. Be filled with and rely on the Holy Spirit always!!!

Can you imagine what Christianity would be like today if we all decreased? I guess we would have revival.

This is my prayer today……………………

Dear Father God,

I love you and I love your Son Jesus. I want there to be less of me and more of your Son in my life. I need your help in guiding me and instructing me by following the lead of your Holy Spirit. Help me to be more obedient and conscience of His presence when He is trying to speak to me about decreasing. I know I need to be more humble especially in the things I do for you. I thank you for all the lessons that have brought me to this point in my life and I know there are more lessons to be learned. Lord I know there are other Christians reading this blog who want the same things I prayed for…so I ask you to bless them as they endeavor to decrease too. In your precious Son’s name…Jesus…Amen

Message for today: He must increase, but I must decrease.

It's not about us at all...It's about JESUS!

God spoke to me…I listened and relay this message to someone

The Lord spoke to me this morning and said that someone is getting a special blessing soon.  He said it’s something you’ve been praying for, wanting, desiring and it His pleasure to bless you.  He said to tell you that He loves you and has delighted in your love for Him.

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

“BUT GOD” !!!

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

There are many, many scriptures in the bible with “but God”. The Lord wants to make a point about Himself.

My definition of “but” is… something that might be somewhat negative and the “but” puts it in a positive position. It can also say that there is another way… another solution… the possibility of a better outcome. The opposite can be said of the word “but”. When using it in the same sentence of God…it is thought of in an extremely positive way.

“But God” takes the human limits off God’s abilities. “But God” see’s all possibilities and brings about a sense of peace, trust and expectation of deliverance.

When my kids were little…I heard “but mom” quite often. I can tell you that this was a negative form of the term….because it got on my very last nerve. Aren’t you glad we don’t get on God’s last nerve with our constant crying out to Him? Can I get an Amen here? He wants us to call on Him and count on Him!!!

When you just say…But God….It sounds so and is powerful. There is so much power behind that phrase. I want you to do me a favor…..I want you to say…But God…out loud right now! Go ahead…just say it….say it a few times. Let your ears hear it, let your heart receive it and let your mind remember it.

When things get trying this week…I want you to remember this blog….remember the scriptures above…and draw upon the strength of God’s word. Receive strength to stand against anything the enemy may throw your way.

Vision

I’m seeing a vision right now….I see someone walking on a very rocky road. Your ankles are twisting and you’re trying not to fall… and you are stumbling. You are so unsteady. I see you remembering the “but God” and at first you whisper it and as you do you start walking a little steadier. You then start yelling “but God” and I see a hand extend out to you and even though the road is still rough, you are able to keep your balance and walk on. (God is helping you by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name.)

I feel the Lord is telling me to stop writing now because He just wants you to receive and remember this….”BUT GOD”

Message for today: But God….God can do it….God will do it…Believe it! Receive it!

A Prayer For Revival…It Starts In You

Psalms 85:6 Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

What is the meaning of the word revival? It is the renewing, restoring and strengthening of something that was once vibrant, back to a place of importance, power, confidence and vitality. It’s a place of once being high in a certain area of life and then falling to a low point of complacency, going through the motions. Being unproductive and lifeless, to a place of restoration to the point you were at and even higher and beyond.

You have to want to be revived and feel that this is necessary to move you to the next level. A spiritual revival is for the children of God. It’s the hearts cry to be rejoicing in the joy and strength of the Lord once again. It’s the desire of one’s yearning heart to meet the Lord in a place of overflow in the Spirit and in the power of God. To live again under God’s powerful anointing.

Oh Lord…Revive my soul!

Revival comes out of a place of very sincere prayer for it. A prayer that ask God to clean you and wash you…. A prayer in which God searches your soul that you have laid out before Him in humility…. A prayer of true worship in spirit and truth…. A prayer of love for the master where if the Lord was standing before you…you would wash His feet with your tears.

You can pray for the Lord’s revival individually or as a group whose purpose is more of God, but you cannot make God bring on a revival just because you want one. There must be a spiritual purpose of admitting you need to be in a place with God that you once were and most important….you must humble yourself before our all-powerful and almighty God and submit, surrender and commit your total self to His will. You must desire to be Holy because He is holy.

True revival comes from prayer

I tell you…when the Lord sees the sincerity of your heart…REVIVAL WILL COME! Wait I say on the Lord. Be still, be humble, be prayerful, be watching and waiting for the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself in a special way.You will feel the power that floods your soul and you WILL REJOICE once more in His wonderful presence. You will feel His Shekinah Glory. You will sing, dance and shout for joy. Rivers of refreshing flowing waters will bubble up inside of you.

This anointing will spread to those around you…they will want what you have. You will go out and spread the good news and make new disciples. The Lord will rain righteousness down on you and will shower your soul with exceeding joy. You will have fellowship like you’ve never had before. You will walk with the Lord and He will pour His love on you and it will be great strength for you. When trials and tribulations come, your spirit will be encouraged and you will trust in the Lord like never before. The word of God will be so alive to you and your faith will soar.
So….is revival a good thing to desire? Oh yes…oh yes it is. You can start praying for it right this very minute.

Heavenly Father,

I’m asking you to revive those who are seeking more of you. Please send your power down on us today and revive our dry spirit man. Lord only you know what is in our heart and only you can bring us to a place of restoration. Please give us a fresh anointing. Revive our sleepy spirit. Wake us up into the renewal of your exceeding joy. Lord I thank you for what you are going to do in our lives. In Jesus name…Amen.

Message for today: Lord please revive me again, so that I may rejoice in you? (Psalms 85:6 )
