James 4:17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

Sin – Deliberate disobedience to the known will and law of God.

People who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior have original Sin (Adam and Eve stuff) and they are in sin.  People who are Christians don’t have original sin but still sin.  Sin is NOT good for anyone!  If you haven’t accepted Christ… you are destined for an eternal future that will not be good.  If you are a Christian and sin without genuinely asking Jesus to forgive you…this will block your prayers to God.

When we are born…from day 1 our degree of sin is 100% guilty.  This is why we must introduce our children to God the Father, tell them about Jesus, lead our children to do the right things, and train them up in the faith.  In doing this when they reach the age of accountability…they will make their own decision to turn from sin and follow Christ.

After we repent, believe in Jesus and turn from our sinful ways our original sin is completely removed from us.  When we sin after that… our heart is convicted immediately and hopefully we’ll feel sorry for what we have done.  When we feel regretful …we repent and that sin is removed from us because of the grace of God and Jesus death and resurrection.

I’m writing this blog today because I feel we don’t think enough about….”sin”.  I want to please God so much and I fall short sometimes.  Yes I still sin.  This flesh really wants to do what it wants.  But daily I have to keep my mind on the Lord.  I try to stay in the spiritual zone as much as I can in the hours that I’m awake.  I try to keep my mind in tune with the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5 :16-17 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whateveryou want.

We are responsible for obeying God. We must keep this flesh in control by walking in the spirit and doing what we know is right in the eyes of God!

But sometimes I fall short in certain areas.  Now I’m not going to share that with you my sinning areas…LOL!  But I tell you…Thank God for what Jesus did for me…that I can ask genuinely for forgiveness and my sin will be washed away.  I need that clean heart!!!  I pray for people all the time as well as for myself and my family and I know God will not hear the prayers of someone with a dirty, sinful heart.

I am going to share a lot of scriptures at the end of my blog about sin. The bible and Holy Spirit is the way you will know that you’re sinning.  Please don’t ignore sin!  It’s a very serious matter.  I care about you all!  I want God’s best for you!!!!!

These are some things I found in the bible that God doesn’t like.  I’m sure there are many more because of God’s holiness.  These are NOT my ideas about sin……but God’s….

Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the Lord hates,
    seven that are detestable to him:
¹⁷         haughty eyes,
        a lying tongue,
        hands that shed innocent blood,
¹⁸         a heart that devises wicked schemes,
        feet that are quick to rush into evil,
¹⁹         a false witness who pours out lies
        and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Deuteronomy 18:10-11 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, ¹¹ or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

Galatians 5:19-21 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; ²⁰ idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions ²¹ and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?
