Independence Day July 4, 1776 is a day that we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence which was declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain (England). The American Revolution was a  battle that was fought during the last half of the 18th century in which thirteen colonies in North America joined together to break free from the British Empire, combining to become the United States of America.
 

I love the 4th of July celebrations with the picnics and fireworks.  We should celebrate this very important day in American history and I do.  But it also reminds me of another independence day which for me was the year 1984.  That was the day that I was truly free over satans control over me and my husband, we became a committed Christians and our 3 daughters accepted Jesus Christ into their lives that year  and after our other 3 children were born and grew up they did too.  So 1984 was a very important year for the Nemley family.

There was a single person who fought this battle and won it for us.  This brave, loving, sacrificing, person’s name is Jesus Christ.  I am now free from the thing that has kept me separated from God……original sin caused by Adam and Eve.  I was so bound from this and it kept me separated from God.  Now that I’m free and I look back and think about my former life, I tremble at being in the clutches of an evil god.   

 Romans 6:16,17 16   Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey -whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

John 8:34  Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

2 Peter 2:19   They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity – for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.

 

I’m now in the hands of A holy true God and I’m dependant on Him for every aspect of my life and I tell you …….I’m lovin’ it!!!! I have a protector, healer and provider.  He is the lover of my soul, my best friend and He has promised me a mansion and eternal life.  Yeah….. I went from independence to dependence……. But this one is different …….my new owner created everything in the universe and I truly submit my dependence on Him with my whole heart.  God has truly blessed me and God bless American.
