Ephesians 3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Today I feel led to blog on the fullness of God. This is a very big topic and I don’t know how much I can bring to the table because I don’t have a degree in theology… but I will try to share what I can.
It’s very hard to put the meaning of the fullness of God into words because of our limited ability to take in all of God’s majesty or His supreme-ness. Jesus has all of the fullness of God in Him.
Colossians 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
(Deity – divine character or nature of a Supreme Being; divinity.)
Colossians 1:19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, JESUS!
These are some of the BEST scriptures for revealing that Jesus IS God!!!!!
John 10:30 I and the Father are one.” !!!!!!!!!
John 14:9-11 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
We have Jesus in us who has the fullness of God in Him so we have the fullness of God available to us.
Ephesians 3:16-19 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Paul prayed one of the most blessed prayers in the above scripture that anyone could ever pray for a brother and sister in Christ:
- He prays that all of the powerful, the great and wonderful things that God is and possesses and are available to you and will strengthen you. (The result: Spiritual strength.)
- He prays that this power will build you up in your inner man. (The result: Jesus Christ will live and inhabit your heart through faith!)
- He prays that because you are already grounded in the love of God that we and all God’s people will be able to catch on to and know for sure how much Jesus loves us. ( The result: evangelism)
- He prays that we will know the depths of that love or how far it will go for us.) (The result: Trust and faith in God.)
- He prays for us to know this deep love that leads to being filled with Jesus and all His fullness. He also expresses that we will not be able to fully understand this knowledge. (The result: That we will be filled with the fullness of God!)
The results that will affect our spiritual lives:
- Spiritual strength
- Jesus Christ will live and inhabit our heart through faith!
- Evangelism
- Trust and faith in God
- We will be filled with the fullness of God
Is this an awesome prayer or what? We have God’s fullness available to us as a Child of God!!
So what is the fullness of God you ask? God is the most Supreme Being in the entire universe. He has always been in existence and everything that exist….every galaxy, planets, sun, moon, creatures, and humans were created by Him. He is extremely powerful with mighty strength, great wisdom and knowledge and is able to do anything He thinks of doing or creating. He is perfect in every way with no flaws. He is very holy, very just and with love based motives. All of this glorious awesomeness that is in His deity is in Jesus Christ.

My mere words are a pitiful attempt of trying to explain the fullness of God because His whole presence of who He really is and the power and awe that is Him… is unexplainable in human language. He is too great!!! All of this greatness is in His son Jesus Christ and because of His great sacrificial expression of love…we have access to God and all of His fullness. We have all of who God is…we are His children we were bought for a price by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ IS the fullness of God and we need to be all we can be in Him. Then and only then can we experience the fullness of God. It is through Jesus….we must have Jesus. I must have Jesus….I need Him!! I want Him!! Jesus… I submit myself to you!!!
The power of God is at work in us! Oh my Lord!! We can experience the fullness of God through Jesus Christ. God’s work in our lives can bring His plans into reality and people will marvel at how great our God is!
Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
God’s power and greatness is His fullness! We need to meditate often on the fullness of God so that we can walk and reflect the fullness of God in our lives. May the Lords plans and work be glorified in our lives through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
Message for today: The fullness of God……is something to ponder thoughtfully and deeply about.

Camry, thank you very much for sharing. It has touched me a lot and I learned what I really needed. I´ve been thinking on how to reach the fullness of the Lord and you helped me to find it. God is so good. I do realize that what you needed the most to share it is not a theologian degree, but the fullness of the Lord. Be tremendously blessed!

Here’s a cool thought sister, It’s after Paul wrote all about us being filled with ALL the Fulness of God that he writes. “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly aboue all we can ask or think. He obviously knew that what he had just written would stagger the imaginations of the readers. And so he ascribes Glory to the God who could and does pull it off.

You know it took me all day of studying and thinking and praying to write that. I had a big headache after from stretching my brain and told my husband last night…that it was so hard to write. But I was so glad because I needed to hear what I wrote myself. Understanding the fullness of God and why God has done all this with us has truly opened my eyes and gave me more understanding on who our mighty and power God is and how special we are to be adopted by Him.
The angels are watching us and the other beings are looking at us. God wants them to see how His creations have endured and still believe, love and trust in Jesus. We will be reward for all we have been through. God can count on me to make Him proud! This is all so awesome to me….so much to think about today.

Tanya, I just shared Jesus with a friend who thought she was a christian untll I asked her what she was going to say to God when He asked her why He should let her into His heaven. She came up with the same answers every one else does. I was baptised at 9, I’m a good person, etc. So then I read her Rev 3:20. I asked her if she had ever asked Jesus into her heart? And she hadn’t–hadn’t known she needed too.
So then I took her through several scriptures as I do when I know that I need to be very clear about the outcome. And then we got to the practice prayer. I asked her if this is something she wanted to do. And yes! Praise God She does. And she will call me tomorrow for some beginner instructions. thought you’d like to rejoice with me!

Cindy….I am so tired!….I’m soooo tired from jumping up and down and rejoicing!!! Praise the name of the Lord!! I could just cry!!! It’s the prayer of my heart for people to know Christ.
