Vials of Smallpox were found recently in a storage unit at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda Maryland. Smallpox is a deadly disease that had its last case in 1977. In 1967 it killed 2 million worldwide after 15 million contracted the disease. Smallpox was responsible for an estimated 300–500 million deaths during the 20th century. It was certified eradicated in 1979 by the World Health organization.
Why am I telling you this? Because there is another disease deadlier than smallpox and its called sin! A relative of sin is evil. It has invaded our world since the beginning of man and it has not been eradicated but there is a vaccine for it named Jesus Christ! There is also treatment for outbreaks of sin called the Holy Spirit.
The problem with this outbreak of sin is if people don’t call on Jesus to remove the initial infection in their lives….death won’t stop the effects of their suffering. It will go way past their earthly life and will affect the person’s life… eternally!
Today …think about telling a friend, co-worker, neighbor or a family member about the cure for sin sickness so they won’t have to suffer a fate worse than death. Share the great news of the treatment and cure. If you have this sin sickness yourself….Please, Please, Please seek the cure and cry out to Jesus Christ to save your soul…today!
The problem or name of the disease: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
The cure or treatment:
- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life John 3:16
- If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:8-9
- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

As frightening as smallpox must have been, we know living in sin is a far greater curse. Thank you, Tanya, for laying this one right on the line!
