1 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

“God-tunities”

Colossians 4:3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

Hebrew 6:1  God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Mathew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

One of the principal rules of religion is, to lose no occasion of serving God. And, since he is invisible to our eyes, we are to serve him in our neighbor; which he receives as if done to himself in person, standing visibly before us. John Wesley

Have you ever realized that you can give things to God that are of value to Him? Or are you just sitting around daydreaming about the greatness of His redemption, while neglecting all the things you could be doing for Him? I’m not referring to works which could be regarded as divine and miraculous, but ordinary, simple human things – things which would be evidence to God that you are totally surrendered to Him. – Oswald Chambers

I thought I was making up a new word… “God-tunity”…  using God and opportunity and combing them…but when I Googled my new term I found many people have used that so…I’m not brilliant…oh well.

My point in all of this was to make a point that there are opportunities out there every day to do things for the Lord.  When you make a commitment to serve Him and you have read His word and know the things He would like you to do and you have the knowledge that the Holy Spirit will guide you…. You can expect for the God-tunities to be there.  I look for ways to serve Him daily.  Most of the time I’m right on…God speaks and I move.  But sometimes I’ll miss that opportunity either because I wasn’t paying enough attention or I was too afraid…or even I was….ugh….too busy.  Excuses….excuses.

Example….one day I was in an office and I was sitting next to a couple.  The Lord told me to strike up a conversation and I did.  This led to them being comfortable with me and then the Lord made an opening for me to share my testimony and to give them my personal tract with my story.  They told me they had been through a lot and was thinking about God and finding a church.  I hit the mark on this one.

But there are times when God pointed out someone and I let the opportunity get away from me and in my spirit I knew…well ok…the Holy Spirit lets you know you missed it.   You just hear an inner voice that speaks to you or you get an uncomfortable feeling.  So you apologize to God and wait for your next assignment.  You don’t allow yourself to be riddled with guilt because that serves no purpose and our God is forgiving and patient with us.

WARNING- Don’t force opportunities… but wait on the Holy Spirit’s lead.  Like…if you stand up in the middle of a group of people and start sharing the gospel…unless God told you to do so….you’re gonna look CRAZY and you will not have the anointing that will make Gods word come alive to the people.  But if God speaks to you about the person you are sitting next to and you start praying for them…after the meeting you might invite them for a cup of coffee…now that’s a good thing…an opportunity.

Reach out and touch somebody's hand make this world a better place...I know you can!

There are many other types of God-tunities…like helping a neighbor or a stranger in need.  Calling an old acquaintance…cooking a small meal for a sick friend are little blessed things that can be done.  Look around when you are in church…people come to church and some are suffering with things in their personal life…maybe you can offer friendship and help.  Even if you are housebound…you might call and encourage someone.

If you’re committed and submitted to the Lord and you love Him with all your heart…your passion will be that you want to willingly do things to please Him.  Serving others is definitely one way to get to His heart!!

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might……(Ecclesiastes 9:10)

Colossians 3:17  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Massage for today: Look for something you can do for the Lord.

Yesterday’s blog update

Yesterday’s message was so important that the enemy’s was really mad at me and tried to attack me all day.  He didn’t want you to read my blog.  Yesterday was a battle…I won…I’m here and I’m praising my Lord and Savior and telling everyone again…that we have authority over the enemy.  If you didn’t read yesterdays blog…please read it.  I’m not backing down off of nothing!! I’m gonna tell the truth about God word.  I’m going to tell what I know that will help people with their walk with the Lord!!

Yes …stuff happened to me yesterday…one of the things that happened last night after a day of battles… was I put a dozen  eggs on the stove to boil so I could make….I know…angel eggs (you know what the real name is….but we’re not going there). I went in my room and forgot about the eggs boiling on the stove. When I finally went into the kitchen… it was all white with billowing smoke…the pot was burning really bad….all of the eggs exploded and was ALL OVER the kitchen.  Even after I took them off the stove they were still exploding.  The whole house was filled with smoke and the smell of burnt eggs still lingers this morning. My house could have caught on fire…but God didn’t let that happen!!!

So I went back to reread yesterdays blog because obviously there is something that can really help us.  So be encouraged today…we do have authority over our enemy and we can be victorious!!  Be informed know God’s word trust God and have faith.  Thank you Jesus!!

How you can kick satan’s butt!!

Well….you don’t need to kick the devils butt…..because Jesus has already defeated Him!  He won the battle for us.  He paid the price. Praise the Lord!!  We can take authority over the enemy because we are children of the most high God and when we became born again and made Jesus our personal Lord and Savior…we received God’s Holy Spirit living inside of us.  God’s power in us is stronger than the power that’s in the world.  When we pray in Jesus name after accepting Christ as our Savior and committing ourselves to Him…we learn what the bible says about what God will do for us…and that is…we have authority over the enemy of our souls!

There are principles to follow.  We can’t just use Jesus name all willy nilly all over the place like calling a Genie out of a bottle kind of thing.  We must use wisdom and respect for the power and authority of God in our lives.  Satan is nothing to toy with either…He is a powerful adversary.  You better know what you’re doing and if you don’t…you need to blow the dust off your bible and get to studying and also pray for wisdom and discernment.  Satan is a strong enemy and we need to know and be able to use all the weapons God tells us about in His word to keep the devil from trampling over us and our family, Church, community, nation and this troubled world.

Look around…listen to the news.  These are very troubled times for everyone and it seems like these troubles will be here for a long while.  So we need to equip ourselves for the long battle.  Let’s not get caught out there.  We have authority over the enemy’s advances…but are we using it?   Do we know how?  Don’t wait for the trials to arrive….get prepared now.  If the weatherman said a big storm was coming and you didn’t go out and stock up on some food, batteries and supplies you would put you and your family in serious jeopardy.  The bible says that we’ll have many trials and all different kinds so stock up on some food…spiritual food.  Get you some supplies which are the scriptures and notes from past trials.  Get you some batteries which is some prayer time.  Now you’ll be…prepared!

I’ve given you some scripture verses to either remind you or get you started….but this is not enough.  The bible is packed with weapons you can use to take authority over our adversary.  Jesus did when He was tempted so do what our brother did.  Know God’s word!

1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 6:10-12 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Mathew 4:4  Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

John 14:14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Message for today: Don’t lay down and let satan walk all over you…..get up off that floor!…..know God’s word and take authority over that situation in the name of Jesus.  Pray and Trust God….Know what God’s will is and have faith. Then wait on the Lord to answer you.  Be of good courage!!

Come on…Get up off that floor!!!

I’m telling you that if you’re a child of God you have the authority over the devil’s stronghold in your life!!!

You can be victorious!!! Yes you can!!

“P.S. – This is my own philosophy….I know the devil is out there and he needs to be kept in his place.  I know what to do…how to use the word of God take authority.  I’m well aware of his presence BUT…..I’d rather spend most of my time praising God and thanking and lifting up the name of Jesus than talk about the devil.  What needs to be done pertaining to the devil I do…but most of my time is dedicated to being with my Lord and Savior and walking with God.”  I don’t spend time…devil chasing.  I know I have HIM on the run!!

The day I found out I had BREAST CANCER

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Every year I faithfully got a mammogram and this year was just like any other or so I thought. A day after I got the mammogram  I got a certified letter in the mail and a follow-up phone call from the radiologists telling me I that I needed to come in and get a copy of the mammogram and see a surgeon ASAP.  I didn’t think much of it though.  When I picked up the films I sat in my car and held them up to the light and I saw some white dots inside of a circle with a break in that circle…..but still it didn’t register with me.

I made an appointment right away with a breast surgeon and I didn’t take anyone with me to this appointment because again….I didn’t think it was a big deal.  I thought to myself…well…they will give me a biopsy and everything will go from there.  There was no history of breast cancer in my family and I had a breast biopsy when I was 16 years old so I thought this was much to do about nothing.  When the surgeon looked at the films he told me he was scheduling me for surgery.  I looked at his face and he looked very serious.  He let me draw my own conclusion and I said to him….”does this look like cancer?….and he said yes.  From that moment on I could hear nothing else he said.  His office tried to talk to me about details but I told them to write everything down because I was not processing anything they were saying to me.

I sat in my car in shock!  I called my friend from my car…she was in remission from another form of cancer.  She was able to talk me through those first moments.  My most pressing thoughts were….my husband….my kids….oh God help me!!!!!  I had a mastectomy in 2001….. I am completely healed from the cancer now 10 years later!!  All praise and glory belongs to God!  God used this for His glory because I was able to share my faith with my doctor and everyone around me got to see how I had a miraculous recovery.   The miracle was that……..I had no pain whatsoever after the surgery!!  It was amazing!  I went home from the hospital…no pain.  During the time that I got the breast cancer I was suffering with a chronic illness.  Two years before this mastectomy I had a hysterectomy as well as a few other smaller medical problems.  I believe God knew how much I could bear and He buffered me from too much trauma in this new medical challenge.

I felt His presence and His help in a powerful way.  God knows how much we can bare and will not put one drop more on us than we can handle.  Looking back in all that I’ve been through… I’m so amazed at the work all of this suffering has done in my life and I do count it all joy now.  I’m going to be honest here….I did not enjoy going through it…it was very difficult.  But now…when I see how the Lord was teaching me and molding me…I see He is making me into what He wants me to be and that’s to be just like His son…Jesus.  Refining takes time and patience.  As they say…Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I’m a better person now because of what I’ve been through.  I’m able to share through my blog… some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way.  God will never leave you or forsake you…He will be there in your deepest darkest and most trying of moments.  When you are going through a difficult trial….pour your heart out to Him….cry until your eyes are swollen….pray until no words are left in your mouth…lay on your bed and moan and groan until you’re just drooling…then close your eyes and have the hope of Jesus in your heart and a mustard seed of faith left in your mind and soul and the power of the Holy Spirit will over shadow you….then the peace of God that passes all understanding will take you over and your joy will come in the morning.  I tell you this because…..I have lived it!  I have that joy and it IS so well with my soul.

James 1:2-4  Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

God knows how much you can bear…..call on Jesus and hang in there…you hear me…hang in there!!!!!

To all woman everywhere....please go and get your mammogram. It's one of the reasons I'm still here the first reason is God's healing hand. Also do self examinations too!

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Isaiah 6:3 And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.

Revelations  19:12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.

“Oh my Heavenly Father….I bow down and worship you this morning….God you are so worthy to be praised….Lord I throw myself at the feet of your throne and say I adore you…..I praise you.  You are so Holy…so pure…..I exalt your name.  Oh God…my lips call out your name in total praise and adoration.  My lord….oh my precious Lord….you are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords …How majestic is your name in all of heaven and earth.  Holy Holy Holy are you oh Lord…Halleluiah!!!….Halleluiah!!! Abba Father you are so wonderful….so great…so powerful…no one can compare to you.  You are great…you are good!  My inner self weeps for joy because of your awesomeness. My soul magnifies you!  My mind is filled with the essence of your magnificent presence.  My body vibrates because of the power of your love over me!!!  I lay on the floor prostrate as your awesomeness hovers over me in grandeur as my creator makes Himself known to me.  Oh God….I worship you this morning in the power of the Holy Spirit.  I have no earthly words to describe your greatness so I just lay here and moan out your goodness.  Oh your glory…oh your power….my soul does magnify you oh Lord………….Oh God…….Jesus……Glory…glory…glory to you oh Lord…………I worship you……………I worship you…………..I love you so”

The Lord will fight your battles but…….

The battle belongs to the Lord

Why should He?  As I was reading the story of King Hezekiah I was intrigued by his devotion and loyalty to our God.  He truly loved the Lord and served faithful in the temple and led his people in this same manner.

2 Chronicles 31:21 In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.

We who are Christians should be devoted to the work of the Lord.  After we became a committed Christians,  my husband and I jumped  into the work of the Lord 6 months later and was in ministry in our church and we have not stopped since 1984.   Every battle that we have ever faced…God has been there.  I’m going to share with you the strategy or tool that you can hold on to when facing any battle that might come your way:

2 Chronicles 32:7, 8   “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. 8 With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

This scripture is what King Hezekiah told his people when they were facing the tormenting comments and threats from the Assyrian emperor.

God sent an angel to answer King Hezekiah's prayer

Today…we don’t have to be afraid of anyone or anything.  We have God in us.  Don’t believe the enemy’s lies pertaining to you…not for your spiritual walk with the Lord…not for your health…your safety…your family….your finances…nothing.  When people come against you speaking evil about you and threatening you with harm remember the scripture verse above and this one that the apostle John said:  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4).

The Lord helped King Hezekiah and his enemy was defeated…..Why?  Hezekiah was loyal and devoted to the work of the Lord.  I feel if you take care of God’s business…He will take care of your business.  If you got saved….became a born again Christian and barely went to church or did anything for the Lord and maybe your car broke and you prayed and asked God for money to fix your car….why should He.  He is not a genie in a bottle to just rub and get your wish granted.

I personally serve God because I love Him so much…that is my only motive.  I believe Gods word when He said He would take care of me.  But He doesn’t treat me like a spoiled child and give me everything I ask because He loves me and He knows that’s not good for me.  But I feel He goes that extra mile for me and He has and does fight my battles.  God knows I will be faithful  in my loyalty and devotion to Him.

God sees in everyone’s heart and He knows those who are serious about Him and those who are not.  For those who are not as faithful as they should be.…I’m sure He works on them until they are in a better place with Him….Why?…Because He loves them very much and wants His best for them.

So to those faithful Children of God that are going through a battle today I say this to you……

Because of your loyalty and devotion to the Lord He will be there for you so…So be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because there is a greater power  which is the LORD our God …He will help you and will fight your battle.

James 4:7 puts it this way…… Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Again…I feel if you take care of God’s business…He will take care of your business.

Message for today: Loyalty and devotion to God = Someone to help you fight your battles. Awesome!!
