Abortion…Sensitive subject…My thoughts

I want to talk about voluntary abortion which is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy and why I’m personally against it.

My views on this come from a very personal thing that happened to me with one of my pregnancies. After having three girls… I was barren for about 5 years and my husband and I decided we wanted a son. After much prayer…the Lord gave me a miracle, opened my womb again, gave me a son and told me to name him Joshua. I’m a prayer intercessor (A person who prays for the needs of others). One day while I was pregnant with Joshua… I had a very strong sense of his spirit within me.  I was in very intense prayer and I felt my son’s spirit agreeing with me in prayer.  It was a very powerful moment for me. This was my first pregnancy as a committed Christian and I felt this baby inside me was alive spiritually as well as physically.

I’m not alone in this experience. Luke 1:44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. This is what Mary’s cousin Elizabeth said when she saw Mary the mother of Jesus.

I’ve had 4 premature babies who were born way too early.  When I first saw their very tiny bodies all I could do was to pray and ask God to save their lives.  I couldn’t believe a baby so little could live. They were struggling to breath and you could see right through their skin.   They all fought to stay alive and did indeed live and are very blessed adults now.

I believe that when a womans egg meets with a sperm and the cells start to multiply that a spirit/soul is attached immediately to that embryo. Whether that embryo ever lives doesn’t separate that soul from the embryo. Biblically I have to refer to:

Jeremiah 1:4-5 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. ”

Psalms 139: 13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Isaiah 49:1 Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.

I believe that before I was born that I was spiritually born in God’s heart and mind and sent to earth the day I was conceived. We are not only physical beings but we have a body and a spirit or soul. Even after our physical body ceases to live…our spiritual body will live on. I believe we start out as a spirit being and go back to being a spirit being….just makes sense to me. I was a real person the day my parents conceived me. To understand or believe in what I’ve shared… you have to know God and His Son Jesus, Know and believe God’s word and have the Holy Spirit living inside you who will confirm the truth (God’s word) of God to you.

If this is not your practice or belief you might have very different thoughts on the matter of abortion.

Message for today: I’m so grateful that I got to see my 4 premature babies and for the opportunity to raise them. For those who had babies who left this world way too early…I tell you they are back with the one who created their precious spirit and they are waiting to reunite with you someday. All praises to the wonderful creator of life…my God!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Time has come today

Time has come today is a song made famous by a rock group from the 60’s the Chambers Brothers. They recorded this song in 1968….I remember it as a young teen. I’m 59 now and soon to be 60 years old…yikes! I always wondered about this song because at that point of my life…time passing by for a teenager was very slow and I knew I had the rest of my life to live so what was time to me. It’s now 44 years later and I get this song….why?…because time has seemly has sped up for me now and I understand the meaning of this precious gift God has given me….”time”.

God’s word has some things to say about time:

Ecclesiastics 3:1-8

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Everything in life is attached to time and seasons and I’m very aware and sensitive towards that. I’m also very discerning of time and as I walk in the spirit….I find it easier to cope with and use my time according to what the Lord would have me do and be. Time is up to God! His timing is something I strive… in a good way to keep up with and appreciate. There is a time for all the things so wisely written about in the scriptures above.

I’ve had many seasons in my life and the seasons that I’ve loved the most has been the season of raising my 6 children and the long season of marriage to my wonderful husband. The season that has been the most precious to me is my season of committing and serving my Lord and Savior… Jesus Christ, my long season of extreme intercession from 1984-1990 and my present season of praying for people who don’t know my wonderful Jesus Christ.

I’ve also had a very long season of suffering that has not been comfortable at all…but has been very profitable to my spiritual development and my eternal future…so I count it all joy because I know this season suffering has done great things in my life. This is why I have so much to blog about and have so many testimonies of victories in my life.

What time is it now for me? It’s time for me to continue to endure in this race….it’s time for me to let my light shine brightly for the Lord….it’s time for me to let people see the work, time and effort that the Holy Spirit has instilled, guided and produced in me. It’s time for me to trust God like I’ve never trusted Him before! It’s time for me to pray for and go after the lost. It’s time for me to encourage the hurting and speak a word in season.

 

 

How much time do I have?….Only God knows…but I’m keenly aware of time at my age. Every day I look in the mirror and my face tells me how much time has passed. I look in the mirror and it tells me how blessed I am to still be here.

No matter how much longer I’m gonna be here on this earth….I’m going make the most use of this gift the Lord has given me of………………….TIME!

Message for today: Time is an earthly word…there is no time in heaven. Every second, minute and hour of the day is precious…are you thinking about time? Even as I write this time is ticking away…are you aware of…….the time?

Jesus washes stinky feet?

I was thinking to myself…what happened when Jesus washed the disciple’s feet? When Jesus looked down at their feet… did some have that big second toe? Did some have bunions? Did anyone have a hammer toe? Did their feet stink…they were fishermen after all? And worse yet…how about that toenail fungus? What did Jesus see? Did he even care? I don’t think so.

Why didn’t Jesus just hire someone to give these men a pedicure? If Jesus wanted to wash my feet…I’m so ticklish that He would have a really hard time because I would be bugging out. He would have to perform a miracle just to make me keep still LOL! I think washing a person feet is the most personal thing someone can do to another person. I had this done to me at a church service and I wash like don’t touch the bottoms of my feet because I will go crazy up in here! I just wanted this event to be over!

You know… if I was one of the disciples….I would tell Jesus that I need to go down to the lake first for a swim to wash my feet….  “I’ll be back in 5 minutes teacher!”

 

Jesus was making a really big point in washing His disciple’s feet in this true story and that is… we are to be servants just like He was when He was here on earth.

John 13: 14-17 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Serving others is what Jesus wants us to do and what are the benefits? The answer is in verse 17…. We will be blessed. Serving others has really blessed my life. I suffer with a chronic illness and have found out that when I give to others…it keeps my mind off of my problems so no matter how I feel….I find a way to serve someone else. Example…on days when I’m too sick to get out of bed I crochet blanks for a ministry or I’ll call someone else who is sick to encourage them.

Jesus set a great example and He said if we do as He did we’ll be blessed. Anybody up for a blessing?

Message for today: Serving others will make Jesus shine bright in your life!

Footnote: I thought it was interesting that the scripture mentions that Jesus took off His clothes and put a towel around His waist and when finished He put His clothes back on. I believe He wanted to show that He really got into it. This wasn’t some symbolic small action…He really performed the real full action of being a real servant. When we serve others let’s be very sincere in what we do and let our motives be pure and from the heart.

Mother’s Day …My Thoughts

It’s Mother’s Day again… It comes every year

and every year my expectations are the same.

My expectations are that I will hear

from all 6 of my children.

That my 6 children will remember all the years

of nurturing I invested in their lives.

My other expectations are that Mother’s day

will be a reminder of all the help that

I received from the Lord to raise my children.

Being a mom was a hard job but I learned to

1 Peter 5:7 all day every day.

Now that my 6 children are grown

I have new expectations for Mother’s day and every day.

I expect all the seeds I planted in 6 children

will grow and flourish.

That they will love the Lord

as much or more than I do.

Lord…Hear my expectations and

answer my prayers in Jesus name Amen!

 

Worshiping God in spirit and in truth…the meaning

John 4:23-24 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

The Holy Spirit that now lives inside of born again believer/Christians… has changed the way we worship of God. Having to worshiping Him in a temple and doing rituals and sacrifices is a thing of the past. We can now worship God in a very personal and much more direct way….in spirit and in truth.

The scripture above says Gods worshipers (Christians) MUST worship Him in spirit and truth. Worshiping God to me means:

1. Worshipping God from the inside out.
2. Worshipping from deep inside of our soul, spirit man and heart.
3. Worship is what you believe about who God is.
4. Worship is everything you do and are in your relationship to God.
5. Worship is your commitment and surrendered total self… to God.
6. Worship is you putting God first before anything in your life.
7. Worshipping God is… loving God so much that your life is so full of Him that you shine enough for others to see Jesus in you.

In order to worship God like this… it must be done in the spirit. Why? Because God is a spirit being and the way that He communicates with people is through His spirit. Even before you became a Christian…the Holy Spirit was speaking to your mind and heart trying to woo you to God. Then when you repented of your sins and believed in Jesus the Holy Spirit came right inside of you/your body and your ability to communicate directly to God was made complete. Your spirit and Gods spirit connected supernaturally. Without the Holy Spirit this incredible connection would not be possible because humans cannot connect with God because He is a spirit being and we are mortal/flesh.

We must worship God in truth. What is Gods truth? John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

It’s wise to worship God when you are clean inside. The only way to be clean is if you know the bible/Gods word…because His word will make you clean inside. It’s sharp and can slice you, dice you and shave off anything that is not right or true in your life. Then you will be in a great place with our God and you’ll be a vessel that can come before a Holy God and present yourself to Him and be fit for the master’s use. In this way you are worshiping Him with all that you are in Him.

This is why it takes these two things…spirit and truth to worship God. They go hand in hand. This is how one worships our Almighty God. If anyone tells you anything different other than John 4:23-24 on how to worship the Lord… it’s not the truth and you should not follow that teaching. Do what the BIBLE tells you to do pertaining to anything about God. This is the truth of God and EVERYTHING else is…FALSE! God’s word is true. True = life…false = death. Are there any true worshippers in the house?  Your very life is worship to God. Listen to the Holy Spirit living inside of you He will lead you to the truth.

Message for today: Follow the truth of Gods word and you will be in the best place possible with God…you’ll be a…TRUE WORSHIPPER!!!!!!!!!!!

Why should you be bound?

Psalms 118:5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered by setting me free.

When you cried out to the Lord and asked for His forgiveness… you were set free from original sin and you are no longer bound.

John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

You are truly free and are NOT bound by the enemy’s grip on you. His hands have been smacked away from you!

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you.

Because you trust the Lord and meditate on His goodness daily… your mind is not bound unless you let it be bound.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

We have a full life in Christ so there is no need to be bound up by living in fear and having no hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The Lord planned for our freedom a long time ago. He planned a great life for you and me…and His intentions were not for us to be bound up.

Ephesians 3:16-19 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Because of the Holy Spirit and us being filled with the fullness of God….Why SHOULD we be bound?

Message for today: If you’re feeling bound up with fear…doubt…weakness…or anything that is a stumbling block in your life…it’s time to make some adjustments in your thinking because you should not be bound…we have been set free.

My prayer for you today is this scripture: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)  YOU ARE FREE…THINK LIKE A FREE PERSON AND GET THAT PEACE OF MIND YOU’RE ENTITLED TO! JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR YOUR SOUL, SPIRITUAL LIFE AND ETERNAL LIFE… YOUR TOTAL FREEDOM. YOU’RE GOD’S CHILD! YOU’RE FREE…GET OUT OF THE CAGE!

Loving God just because of who He is

Job 2:10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. (Love God no matter what…through the good and the bad! Job knew who God is! This was the secret of Jobs success!)

James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, ( God is doing more for us than you can imagine in these trials we go through and the outcome of them will be a blessing to us now and in our future. Paul figured this out and it served him well throughout his difficult life.)

Loving God and knowing God are both very important. We need to love God and recognize all that He’s done for us…but we also need to know who God is and love Him just because of who He is…period…with no strings attached to this.

I want to share with you today something that people who follow my blog know about me….and that is that I love the Lord so very much! Now… I didn’t get a large sum of unexpected money nor have I had a really huge miracle happen this week. In fact I have really big challenges facing me… as well as daily health issues. In spite of all of this…I love God ever so much!!

How can it to be possible to love God so much even though life is a challenge? How can people love God even in the midst of a horrific situation? The answer is….we should love Him for who He is and not only love Him more just when He does something for us. We should  love God….JUST BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS!  That’s it!  No other reason are nessasary.  This is a very hard concept to follow because we don’t always understand why God allows things to happen in our lives. We want answers and we can’t see past our pain and trust Him. It goes against human nature. This is why we need to know Him just because He is God!

When I’m going through a very difficult trial… I don’t get upset with Him as much anymore because my love for Him is based on who He is and not only on what He does for me. In this way my blessings keep flowing and my relationship stays hopeful and solid in the Lord. This principle that I have adopted into my life has not come easy…it’s been through years of going through many trials and God teaching me that He will never leave me or forsake me. I’ve gone through years of God teaching me His long-suffering techniques under the direction of the Holy Spirit. I know that getting upset with God does nothing but hurt my relationship with Him.

I love God…because I know He has my best interest at heart and His motives are pure and perfect. I love God because He has forgiven me and He’s made me His very own child. I love God because of all the grace and mercy He sends me every single day. I love God because of the relationship that I have developed with Him resulting from our constant interaction with each other.

I love God because He sent His only Son to come down here to rescue me because I would have been lost forever. I love God because He will change me into a glorified being and He will never let me suffer anything ever again and He’s prepared a place for me to spend all of eternity.

These are reasons why I love God that has been has been growing in my heart over many years but the main reason that has developed in me is to love and worship God is because of who He is…He is God. As humans…love grows and develops within us….but when it comes to God…we should be very secure on knowing who we are in Christ and who God is to us and in us. This is revealed to us in the bible and by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus disciple Paul suffered many terrible things during His ministry but He kept serving the Lord and loving Him despite His suffering. Why?…because Paul loved God because He experienced His forgiveness and all that He had done for Paul but Paul’s main reason was… He knew that God is the most Holy Supreme Being in the entire universe who has all power and authority in His hands and everything with him will be excellent in His life no matter what! Paul knew that if he lived… he is covered by God’s amazing grace and if he died… he would be with the Lord in total perfection, serenity and love.

Message for today: Do you feel this total confidence in God? Do you really know Him…who He is? It’s very important for a Christian to know who God is and love Him just because of….who He is.

Love God surely…..But also KNOW God truly!

P.S. – This blog started out as a short paragraph two days ago and has grown. I felt the Lord working on me and guiding me in a special way that I have not experienced in writing my blog before. Amen and Amen.

Thank you Jesus…For the Spring

The seasons change and it can be great or it can be sad for me. I love the fall but it makes me sad sometimes. When the leaves start to fall I think of how many things I wanted to do during the summer and my health didn’t allow me to accomplish most things. I say to myself…I wish I could stop the leaves from falling….I wish I could stop time.

Then winter passes and the spring comes. The flowers start to grow…. I see the new beginnings and I’m hopeful all over again and I think….this summer is going to be the best. I put my summer in God’s hands and my hope in God is very high. I will pray… wait on the Lord and see what God’s plans are for me. Oh I can smell the flowers now and feel the sun on my back!! I think I may be going on a trip too!!  Oh Lord hear my prayer and give me the desire of my heart….In Jesus name.

A word for someone

The Lord told me to tell someone today to stop being so hard on yourself.  Leave yourself alone.  Put your life in the Lords hands and leave everything to Him.  The Holy Spirit will speak to you of His plans for your life and He will reveal His word to guide you in His ways.  Don’t look at yourself with such a critical eye.  God loves you and He’s careful in how He leads you into His truth. Stop walking over yourself and walk under the shadow of His wings.
