Are you too busy today? Relax, Time Out, Be Still

Ecclesiastes 5:3 A dream comes when there are many cares……..

Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

I hate to be nosey but….what are you going to do today? Do you have a list? A million things to do….places to go….people to see….chores….shopping….fixing….building…..the lawn….the kids….church stuff….and the list can go on and on.

I hear the Lord say today to slow down…slow your mind down and slow your body down. Take some time out just to sit quietly and think calming things. Meditate on the Lord and all His goodness. Think about the blessing over your life time. Think about a smiling baby’s face or a beautiful garden of flowers. Maybe even take a short nap and close your eyes.

Jesus knew about this and when He was a man here on earth He was very busy when His ministry started….people hounded Him and He was preaching and teaching a lot, but He used to get away to rest and pray. These human bodies can only take but so much stress.

When Martha in the scripture above was so busy in her preparations Jesus called out her name twice. I can almost hear His voice as she flitted about. I am a Martha so I know just what she was doing. I’ve learned how to pre-prep now so I can enjoy my company but the point is to slow down with all the business that a day can hold.
Do you really have to do all that today? Will you be perky enough for church? Will you be in danger of falling asleep on your pastor’s sermon tomorrow?

Message for today: Don’t let Jesus have to call your name two times….all these things to do….never mind…..put your feet up and get a cup of tea and …….relax today…..come on ….you can do it!

A Good Dear John Letter

Dear John,

I first heard about your story when I was just a little girl in Sunday school. It was a story that I didn’t really understand until I got much older and thought it was a strange story. Your mom was really old, a senior citizen, when she had you and your father couldn’t speak until you were born. You were filled with the Holy Spirit in your mothers womb. You jumped around in your mom’s stomach because your unborn cousin Jesus was near you… John you were one smart… I mean anointed baby.

John you hung out in the wilderness and sustained yourself on locusts and honey and your style of dress was a outfit made of camel skins and a leather belt. John… I like the leather belt… but where did you get the camel skin? (I don’t even want to think about that one) John…you went around preaching and telling people to repent and they repented and confessed their sins to you…..wow John….how did you get them to do that?….Oh I forgot….you were filled with the Holy Spirit before you were born…..John…..I too have the Holy Spirit and have been trying to do what you do……well not eating bugs and honey and sporting the camel clothes…..but I have gotten out there sharing the good news…it’s hard though…..I will pray for more boldness like you.

And then John you baptized Jesus and you didn’t even want to do it but He made you anyway. John you are so humble….I love that about you. John you were not afraid to tell people about themselves and you sure told Herodias about herself, but she had some tricks up her sleeve and her plans worked when she had her daughter ask for your head on a platter. You know the king really liked to hear you preach too but did wrong by marrying that wicked Herodias who was the kings own brothers wife. John your story could definitely be a made for TV movie……oh……I know….you have no idea what a TV is….sorry about that.

Anyway John I just want you to know that your story truly inspires me now at my age of 59 years old. I really get it now and I understand you. You knew who Jesus was and you dedicated your life to spreading the gospel and telling people to repent of their sins. That is exactly what I’m going to do with the rest of my life John.

John….we now have a box called a television and another one called a computer. We have so much technology and can spread the gospel on a thing called the internet. I’ve even written about you on my blog today…..oh…that’s a..…never mind….just know that I’ve shared your wonderful story with many people today.

Dearest John…..I know you are having a blessed time in heaven and have been rewarded for all your prep work you did for the coming of Jesus while you were here on earth……John….I’ll see you when I get to heaven…maybe we can do lunch…..I know Jesus has prepared a feast.

In God’s Service ….Love…

Tanya… your sister in Christ

Luke 1: 11-15 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13 But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. 14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord.

Mark 1: 4-8 And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 6 John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Mark 6:27-28 So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison, 28 and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother.

Psalms 138:7 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.

This morning as I prayed I was so blessed by what God showed me.  The storms of life, which is anything that involves me that is very difficult for me to go through, are coming. It could be a real storm like a tornado, hurricane, or a just a bad rain storm. It could be a loss of a job, a life, health or someone I loves health.  Any situation can be a storm but…………

God showed me His hand reaching out for me! I see a vision of God reaching for me and as I grab His hand and hold on to Him the fear that had scared me vanished and I felt so comforted. Tears are filling my eyes as I write this.  The fear that I had is swept away by the grace of God my Father.

I am afflicted with a chronic illness and when I got up this morning I wasn’t feeling well….in fact I was scared because what I suffer from is scary. I needed this vision of the Lord reaching out and touching me.  The word of God says His mercies are new EVERY morning GREAT, do you hear me GREAT is His faithfulness!!!  Can I get an Amen?

God is telling me that no matter what I go through and no matter how much the storm is raging to reach out to Him in prayer and ask for His help in the name of His precious son…. JESUS.

There is awesome POWER in that name. Jesus has a lot of experience with testing and trials. He definitely knows about storms and knows just how to quiet one.  We are in the hands of an experienced and knowledgeable God. God’s skills are incomprehensible to us. But it’s a good thing we don’t have to understand all of His awesomeness; we just have to trust Him like a little child. When a child is hurting they reach out for their parents……reach out for your Abba Father….I know I did today! God bless you all.

Message for today:  God says He is waiting to help you in your hour of need. He says as the storms of life are raging all around us and that Jesus has ALL POWER in His hands to pull you through, even getting in there with you so you will never be alone.

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

Be giving….bless others

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.(NIV)

This morning I heard God planning with Jesus, the Holy Spirit and some of His angels on assignment. They need to send certain blessing, miracles and answered prayers to many of His children on earth who have been praying for help. Some of these blessing were things that God just wanted to do special for certain people.

In their planning they are discussing those who will help on earth. They say “this one won’t help they are too busy, or this one will only take care of his own. This one is too stingy and this one is selfish. But there are many people who God can depend on to do His will. They will give the shirts off their back and are willing to help God anytime He asks. They are such a blessing to God and make the words of the bible come to life by their actions.

God will use anyone and anything to bring blessing to His children. His answers to us in our hour of need are ALWAYS PERFECT.

I hear God saying that He wants people to be compassionate.  He says look around and use your eyes, ears and heart to feel the needs around you and act. HE says He’s not asking anyone to save the world but if everyone would obey when he touches a heart to act and move in a certain way to bless another person it would please Him.

Many times He is so moved by a persons compassion that He will send blessing to the one who helps.  He will also send extra increase to people who do His will because He knows He can trust them to share the blessing.

Compassionate….. is one of the most beautiful words in the English language. It is an action word that when one does it, it will have a rippling effect in the lives of others.

Message for today – “Use your hands, your time, money, and heart to be compassionate and giving towards others. Listen for my lead…I will show you….I’ll give you all you need to bless others in love.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-15    6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (NIV)

A Holy God

This is the day…..the day of my first blog. It’s all so new and exciting.

This morning as I prayed the Spirit of God reminded me of His holiness. Oh the Holiness of God. In my prayer time I worshiped the Lord and found myself in a place where He allows me to worship Him. As I prayed I could feel His presence all around me. It was powerful and so awesome. I wish I could stay there. I heard these words: Holy, Holy,Holy is the Lord. I have been in this place of worship many times. I have seen smoke and beautiful sights.

I close my eyes and I pray more… seeking to know more of Him. A place of worship is what He showed me today. There is not a lot of color, just smoke, a room, the presence of others worshiping. I don’t see God but only feel His presence in the throne room of Holy worship. I feel so privileged to be able to worship God in this unique way, God who doesn’t hide Himself from His creations. He is available to all who seek Him and my heart soooo seeks after God.

God is soooooo Holy. There are really no words to express what I feel in my heart and what I’ve seen.

A scripture that overwhelms me is –  Isaiah 6:1  In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne,
high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

Just reading this causes my heart to bow in worship.

Who is this Holy God?

He is a supernatural being who is worthy of reverence adoring passionate worship

He is morally perfect in every way.

Has total knowledge and authority over everything.

He is the master and ruler over the ENTIRE universe.

He has been always in existence and will always be.

He is righteous in all that He says and does.

He is a consuming fire and everything that is not pure will be burnt up because He is Holy.

He has enemies.

He sacrificed His only son for mankind’s redemption.

He is full of compassion and He is Love.

He is Good.

He is very creative.

He’s easy to talk to.

He laughs and has emotions.

He loves music…. after all He created it.

These are things that I found out through reading the bible and my prayer times.

Jesus is coming back

Message for today:

Jesus is coming back soon…..are you ready?

Mark 13:32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by . I’m sure you must be curious about what God is speaking to me about. As a young child I have spoken to God. I was introduced to him by my parents as a toddler and also in Sunday school. I wrote him letters as a child and just talked to Him. One day I asked Him to help me with something that was very important to me and He answered that prayer. From that day on I was a true believer that God was real and He answers prayer.

I became totally committed to God in 1984 and since that day I have had unbelievable prayer times with the Lord.  God the Father,  God the Son,  And God the Holy Spirit are such a major part of my life. I want to share things from my prayer times on a regular basis. I feel this is a journey I want and need to take in my life right now.  I’m a 10 year breast cancer survivor and VERY happy to be alive today.  I’m going to share messages from the Lord as well as testimonies and stories.  Please feel free to subscribe to my blog. God bless you in every way!

God is truly amazing and He amazes me everyday.

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for
him with all your heart and with all your soul.

God bless you!
