Lamentations 3:22-24

22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

This was my scripture reading for today and I was so moved by it and feel the Lord is saying verse 24 to someone today. “The Lord is your portion!!!!”

I looked up portion and there were several meanings. Everyone had a little something different to express the meaning of that word and they were all good. Some said it means inheritance…some say …share, piece, part, section, and on and on.
My own personal meaning of the verse is that the Lord is all I need and want…He is my shepherd and I will want for nothing and I will put all my trust in…

We should pray with faith believing that God can do the thing we ask for. We MUST pray for God’s will. All answers to prayer will bring God glory. Gods will for us is what God thinks is for our good….in our best interest.  Joni Erikson Tada has been paralyzed for most of her life. In spite of her illness she has done tremendous things for God. Matthew 27:30 They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again.

Mark 14:65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, “Prophesy!” And the guards took him and beat him.

Immanuel עִמָּנוּאֵל‬ means “God with us”.

So let me get this straight…God Himself came down to the earth that He created and fixed things so we could straighten out our relationship with Him so that through Jesus Christ we could be holy and clean enough to be presented to God and live with Him forever in heaven? Yes!!!

God is Trying To Tell Us Something

Revelation 2:11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I am no great theological genius….far from it in fact….But I do have a pair of ears. God has been speaking to the Church…to us in His word. His word may have been written a long time ago, but the bible is a living book and every word that is in it is relevant for this month, this day, this year, and this very second.
It’s a good thing to read the book of Revelation often to hear Jesus messages to the Churches. This I believe will keep us excited about our future and keep us continually moving in the right direction.


I do believe God is speaking. I just got a vision while writing this. Remember when we were little kids and we made a telephone by using 2 paper cups and a string and you and a friend would each put a cup to your ear? That’s what I see. Or maybe you were trying to eavesdrop and listen in on conversation by putting a glass to a wall. You might think by now I was a nosey child….but my point is…..I see us listening in on what God is saying. He is speaking to us in His word …….and….He is speaking to us individually. He has clear instructions and direction for us who have spiritual ears. If you are a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ….God has a word for you. Put your ear on the glass and press. Get very quiet and listen. The Spirit of God is speaking through His word.

I will tell you what I feel the Lord is saying to me. I feel God is telling me to:

1. Put Him first before anything or anyone including kids and husband and to love Him with my body, mind , soul and heart. I feel I should love God like crazy.
2. Share the good news of Jesus Christ….be smart and discerning about it, with boldness and wisdom…..and most important …follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.
3. Keep check on myself…..be a person of good moral conduct….a person of integrity….and know I’m representing the Lord at all times.
4. Love other people especially the unlovable.

More things God is speaking to me about:

1. There are things happening on earth that are historic. Plans have been laid out in heaven. Many people are and will be affected. This is a time for us Christians to be serious about our walk with the Lord.
2. This is not a time to fear but a time to trust.
3. These are valley times for many…but much growth will come.
4. Those who belong to Christ will be a light. Many will want to know about the light and will follow the light…now is the time to shine for the Lord.
5. This is a time to let go of the worlds things….and set your house in order…lay your all at His feet.
6. Be very thankful for everything you have.
7. Know your bible because without the knowledge of the living word…you have no weapon in the battle.
8. The battles are getting much stronger and harder….but we have the Spirit of God and have power from on high.
9. The future…..is Jesus Christ….Because He lives you can do what?……face tomorrow.
10. All power belongs to God…..God is about to expose His power to the world and has already started…..put your ear to the glass…learn what He is doing and what your part is in this…..be obedient and be in His will. No matter what you are going through….He will use you…if …you are available. Give yourself away to Him! Throw yourself at His feet and say…use me Lord. OBEY THE HOLY SPIRIT….when He speaks to your thoughts/mind or when He speaks to you through the Living Word…the bible. God is speaking, God is speaking.

Revelation 2:11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

When I was in labor I was like….”Oh NO! Not the excruciating pain of pregnancy!!!” I know what I’m talking about…I was pregnant 5 times!!! After that first wave of pain you’re not a happy camper. In fact I was more stressed out the 5th time I pregnant because I knew what was getting ready to take place. Although I knew that I was about to experience the great joy of motherhood, I really didn’t care about that in the midst of all my pain. Labor pains are the some of the worst pains I’ve ever experienced. That’s why women scream their dag gone brains out. Someone needed to MAKE THIS PAIN STOP”!!!!!!

Romans 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

Matthew 24:8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes…

Why does God allow children to suffer?

This is a very difficult subject that I would like to talk about today. It’s about children suffering. Yesterday I watched a YouTube video of beheaded children and families. I was horrified. I don’t why I watched it…but I did. Then that same night someone my husband and I know has a child born to their family who has a very severe illness and this child has suffered greatly.  A few years ago someone else we know had a child born with a congenital heart defect who suffered for 3 years and eventually passed away. There are many other stories of children and adults who have suffered greatly.

The big question for many people who have experienced this kind of suffering is…”why would God allow this?” This is a power packed question and I believe God doesn’t mind if we ask it.

God is a mystery. His mysteriousness is somewhat revealed dimly to those who are believers…

There are areas of suffering that are so unexplainable.  It takes “supernatualness” to be able to understand suffering.  God see’s everything that goes on this earth…good and evil.  He’s see’s every evil act done publicly and those done in secret.  So you might have asked yourself…how can God look upon a person being severely abused or tortured or at a horrific catastrophic event where hundreds or thousands of people are killed?

Well I can tell you for sure….it takes a “supernatural being” to be able to handle seeing severe suffering.  This is why we humans are so perplexed about this subject.  We are NOT supernatural so things like that greatly affects us.  We cannot possibly understand suffering.  All we can do is hold on to the words in the bible and know that the power of the Holy Spirit can bring us the grace and comfort that we need…

God Sustains Me

The Webster’s definition of sustain is:

To keep from falling; to bear; to uphold; to support; as, to keep from sinking. To maintain; to keep alive; to support; to subsist; to nourish. To aid, comfort, or relieve.

Examples of sustaining are:  a foundation sustaining a superstructure; a beast sustains a load; a rope sustains a weight.

One who does this is a “SUSTAINER!”

Psalms 54:4 Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.

Psalms 55: 22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

GOD IS OUR SUPPORT! Jesus made sure of this and the Holy Spirit makes sure we get this support 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days of the year! We are NEVER without support from the Lord our sustainer.

Mentally Making it Through This Pandemic

We all know many scriptures about finding help in a time of need…. but we still can feel stressed.  This is how many people feel right now.  Before this pandemic started, people were already going through a lot of stressful situations.  We’ve had financial crisis, mass killings, tornados, hurricanes, fires, and many other crisis situations that have affected us all. 

Now a world crisis of mass sickness is here.  It’s all that the news seems to be covering these days.  We can’t even socialize with each other anymore.  This is a very lonely and seemingly hopeless situation that all of humanity is in.  What we are all facing right now is very concerning and it will take some work to keep our own mental health in check.

Let’s take some advice from David:

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.   1 Samuel 30:6

At this point we must encourage ourselves in the Lord because there ain’t nobody else around!  Not friends, family, neighbors, your pastor or church members.

 So, the best thing we can do is to know what the bible says about this:

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Psalm 42:11Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Next we must pray and here is a scripture about that:

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

We need to give that bad boy (problems & stress) over to the Lord! Now that you are home alone or just with your family…. have some long conversations with God.  Tell Him everything about how you feel.  Not a formal type of prayer, but just talk to Him like a friend, like your Father, like someone who really cares about your welfare….because HE DOES CARE!!! God is the only one who can help, so it is essential for us to tell Him about our troubles and ask him to help us in our time of need.

Also if you are afraid, stressed, depressed, feeling down…share that with Him. It’s ok to be honest with God your Father. He won’t judge you!!!

I was healed miraculously from life long depression and suicidal attempts in 1983.  The thing I remember about the whole ordeal was that I HAD NO HOPE!  I was hopeless!  It was like being in a dark deep pit.  It is a lie and a scheme from the enemy to pull us away from this life.  He is tricky and sly in how he attempts to bring us down.  He tries to use this tactic on every single human being.  He uses fear and intimidation to try to scare us. He is using this method with this pandemic. The devil is trying to act like the boogieman!

DON’T FALL FOR HIS MESS!!!!!!!  He will and has used this pandemic to do this!  Don’t let him have this kind of power over your thoughts.  Please do this: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. He ain’t got that kinda’ power over you!!!!!!

My advice: You know yourself.   You know what brings you down.  You need to know what brings you up also!!!

This is what I do to keep my head above water:

  1. Prayer and bible study.
  2. Worship God by praising Him.
  3. Listening to sermons and teachings online.
  4. I ask for prayer from godly friends when I need to.
  5. I look out the window or go outside and look up at the sky and ponder about God.
  6. I try to do something for someone else, to encourage and bring cheer to them. (Text and phone now please)
  7. Think good thoughts: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
  8. I listen to music and I sing my heart out.
  9. Watch or listen to comedy.
  10. Watch “Little House on the Prairie!!!” Lol! (Still on TV!)
  11. Go for a walk (local…like your back yard)
  12. Shop on line ( Hey…you’re getting a stimulus check LOL!)

GOD TELLS US TO DO THIS:

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

When you have done all you can do…. When the doctors are powerless to cure you…. When your finances are depleted……When there’s nobody around and you’re alone….. when your problems are huge and lasting a long time…. STAND!!! 

You have on all your armor….and you’ve done what the bible says to do…. STAND!!! 

I’m not saying this will be easy but I’m here to tell you that you can do this!  You got this because GOD’S GOT YOU!!!!!
