The Lord will fight your battles but…….

The battle belongs to the Lord

Why should He?  As I was reading the story of King Hezekiah I was intrigued by his devotion and loyalty to our God.  He truly loved the Lord and served faithful in the temple and led his people in this same manner.

2 Chronicles 31:21 In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.

We who are Christians should be devoted to the work of the Lord.  After we became a committed Christians,  my husband and I jumped  into the work of the Lord 6 months later and was in ministry in our church and we have not stopped since 1984.   Every battle that we have ever faced…God has been there.  I’m going to share with you the strategy or tool that you can hold on to when facing any battle that might come your way:

2 Chronicles 32:7, 8   “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. 8 With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

This scripture is what King Hezekiah told his people when they were facing the tormenting comments and threats from the Assyrian emperor.

God sent an angel to answer King Hezekiah's prayer

Today…we don’t have to be afraid of anyone or anything.  We have God in us.  Don’t believe the enemy’s lies pertaining to you…not for your spiritual walk with the Lord…not for your health…your safety…your family….your finances…nothing.  When people come against you speaking evil about you and threatening you with harm remember the scripture verse above and this one that the apostle John said:  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4).

The Lord helped King Hezekiah and his enemy was defeated…..Why?  Hezekiah was loyal and devoted to the work of the Lord.  I feel if you take care of God’s business…He will take care of your business.  If you got saved….became a born again Christian and barely went to church or did anything for the Lord and maybe your car broke and you prayed and asked God for money to fix your car….why should He.  He is not a genie in a bottle to just rub and get your wish granted.

I personally serve God because I love Him so much…that is my only motive.  I believe Gods word when He said He would take care of me.  But He doesn’t treat me like a spoiled child and give me everything I ask because He loves me and He knows that’s not good for me.  But I feel He goes that extra mile for me and He has and does fight my battles.  God knows I will be faithful  in my loyalty and devotion to Him.

God sees in everyone’s heart and He knows those who are serious about Him and those who are not.  For those who are not as faithful as they should be.…I’m sure He works on them until they are in a better place with Him….Why?…Because He loves them very much and wants His best for them.

So to those faithful Children of God that are going through a battle today I say this to you……

Because of your loyalty and devotion to the Lord He will be there for you so…So be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because there is a greater power  which is the LORD our God …He will help you and will fight your battle.

James 4:7 puts it this way…… Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Again…I feel if you take care of God’s business…He will take care of your business.

Message for today: Loyalty and devotion to God = Someone to help you fight your battles. Awesome!!

What’s in your spiritual toolbox?

SPIRITUAL TOOLBOX

To help myself with having a chronic illness I have a thing I put in practice and that’s having a medical tool box.  In this box I have all the things that I have available for me so that I can keep hopeful and feel secure about my medical situation.  This has really helped me to know I’m not without support when I see that there are things in place for me to draw on when I need to.

This tool box can also be used for spiritual purposes.  God gave us EVERYTHING we need to endure in this race.  How do you think people of God have made it though all these years?  How do you think we have made it though extremely difficult situations without having something in our spiritual tool boxes?   Can you imagine trying to building a house with no tools or having only a hammer? What is in your spiritual tool box?

These are the kinds of things I have in mine followed by the scriptures verses for them.  If you know what’s in your spiritual tool box…The next time a trial comes your way you will know what help you have at your disposal and you will be less stressed about your situation and victory will be yours through Jesus Christ.

Some of the things in my spiritual toolbox:

  1. God’s love for me
  2. The whole amour of God
  3. Prayer
  4. The bible.
  5. Wise counsel
  6. Discernment
  7. Trust in the Lord
  8. Faith in God
  9. Hope in God
  10. God’s grace

1.Psalms 52:8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever. (Also 1 Peter 5:7)

2. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

3. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing; (1 John 5:14–15)

4. Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

5. Proverbs 11:14 For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.

6. 1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

7. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

8. Mark 11:22 Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.

9. Psalms 42:11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?  Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

10. 2 Corinthians 2:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Message for today: Have your box ready and filled with tools…be prepared.

I got my tools...what about you?

Rev.Martin Luther King Jr. Day… Is the dream dead?

A man of prayer

Psalms 106:3 Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.

No!… His dream will never die because when you have your hope in Jesus Christ for everything in your life and the lives of others… there is always hope…you can dream!  I believe Martin Luther King Jr. did so much for equal rights for all people.  He did what God wanted him to do in his lifetime and he did it well…and I’m so thankful for all he accomplished.  My prayer is for all people to keep in their hearts and mind all the work that he did and that we will continue to build and expand on it.  The MLK’s legacy is real and we are blessed to be able to celebrate this special day as a holiday and to have been able to share his legacy with our children who will share it with their children and down through all generations.  The dream will live on.

I too have a dream…..

My dream is for everyone to love the Lord Jesus Christ.  I pray this…dream…hope…vision…everyday single day!!!  I feel that if we have a world that loves Jesus… that this will take care of MLK’s dream and any other dreams for betterment mankind because if we following the true principles of the bible especially 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind… will naturally treat each other with love and respect.  We will treat our neighbors as ourselves (John 13: 34 ).  The world will be a better place.

I pray that the Spirit of God would so move in the hearts of man and that God would be glorified in the lives of His creations.  I intend to pray for as many people as I can before I go.  As long as we have hope for anything and as long as we know who has the power to bring about these changes we will be blessed.

In reading Martin Luther King Junior’s Story in a book his wife wrote about their lives…I got a whole different view of the man than the media has portrayed.  We all knew he was a minister but in Coretta’s Kings book she spoke more of his spiritual side.  She said one day when things had gotten so dangerous and difficult that Martin went in a room to pray and when he came out he was a different man.  You can tell from one of his last few speeches that he said he’s been to the mountain top and he’s seen the promise land…and he may not get there with us…but we will get there.  I believe that God spoke to him and encouraged and strengthened him.  He was brave and faithful to the end.

I will continue to pray about my dream of everyone loving Jesus Christ.  Like Martin…I too have been to the mountain…and I’ve seen in visions some of the biblical things God has promised those whose names are written in the Lambs book of life.  In reading God’s word the Holy Spirit has confirmed God’s living word in my heart and mind.  I know God has great things ahead for His children and I want for all people to get to the promised mansions. God has also promised us an abundant life while we are here on earth.   If you’re reading this and you don’t know about Jesus Christ and what He has done for all…please email me in the side bar.

For all others would you take a minute and share your dream or vision.  God bless you all and have a happy MLK Day!

Message for today: Without a vision…people perish.

Did you…….

Did you talk with Our Father today?  Did you tell Him how special He is?  Did you praise Him for all He’s done for you?  Did you mention how thankful you are that He sent Jesus to earth for our salvation?  Were you able to give Him the praise?  Did you tell Him how much you love Him?  Did you thank Him for everything…every blessing He has given you this past week/year/life?….Oh… you did already?…..Me too.

Have a blessed day everyone!!!

Psalms 107:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Paralyzed man friends lowering Him down to Jesus

Mark 2:1-5  A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Jesus forgave the man and healed Him.

Mark 2:11,12 I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all.

As I have shared before in previous blogs…I have been chronically ill for a long time and it has been no easy road.  I’ve had to deal with a lot of physical pain and suffering.  When I had cancer I got a lot of empathy and many well wishers and prayers.  But with this chronic illness that I’ve suffered with for the past 21 years the physical pain and limitations although very difficult at times does not compare to the pain that I’ve had from the loss of friends and the MANY negative comments that I’ve had questioning my faith in God.

When I think about the men in this story of the paralyzed man I get tears in my eyes.  Oh… to have such caring and faithful friends is a treasure. These men got together to help a sick friend.  There were not going to stop until they got him the help he needed.

A person will find out the character of their friends if they become sick.  Are your friends true friends, acquaintances or just people who are in your space?  Space occupying people can sometimes be very toxic to your soul (the inner you).

These friends of this paralytic man were men of compassion, kindness and great faith.  They heard about Jesus and His ability to heal the sick and they had a lot of faith to make a traveling bed for their sick friend…carried Him to where Jesus was (who knows how far they had to travel)…fight through a large crowd…get a ladder…carry him up to the roof top….dig through the hardened mud and thatch to make a hole….get rope/vines to lower the man and believe that Jesus would heal their friend.  Now those are friends!!!  Praise God!

I have a friend who recently did this for me.  No she did not cut a hole in a roof of a house…even if she could it would take 20 weight lifters to carry me up a ladder LOL!  My special friend paid for me to see a specialist who might be able to help me (and he did thank God).  She paid the whole cost for me to go out-of-state and the cost of the doctor as my insurance didn’t cover an out of network doctor.  Now that is a cutting through the roof kind of friend.

Being a Christian and living with a chronic illness has been especially difficult because as Christians we believe in healing and many people’s thoughts about you when you’re sick for so long is that there must be a problem in your life.  These types of thoughts and comments from others have been for me at times just as hurtful as the condition I suffer with.  After all these years of dealing with this…I’ve learned that I must keep my eyes on the Lord, forgive people right away when they say such things and I pray for myself that God will strengthen me and help me stay positive.  My hope is in Jesus Christ for grace, mercy and healing so I trust Him and that’s it.  When people say that stuff to me it doesn’t bother me because I know they are in a certain mindset and they don’t know how to gently and compassionately minister to someone who is sick.

These are the kind of things I’ve had said to me by friends:

  1. Well you look good.
  2. You need to take some vitamins
  3. I think you’re just stressed
  4. Go shopping… take a walk.
  5. You need to lose some weight.
  6. It’s all in your head.
  7. Things could be worse.

These are things that have been said to me by some Church friends and even people I didn’t really know:

  1. You don’t have enough faith!
  2. You haven’t prayed right or enough.
  3.  You must have some sin in your life.
  4. You have a generational curse.
  5. You’re not having an abundant life.
  6. You don’t know the word.
  7. You spoke this illness on yourself.
  8. You need to come to this healing service.
  9. You need to listen to my healing scripture CD.
  10. You need to press your way out to church.
  11. Demons are making you sick and causing your pain, rebuke them.

These are only a few of the things that have been said to me over the past 20 years and I tell you not one of these things said has ever helped me or made me feel better in fact it has been hurtful.  It  Feels to me like…..um…..spiritual bullying.  And I say this because of what it feels like after they make these remarks.

There are two very simple things that others can do when confronting a person who is sick and it’s this:  Be encouraging and pray for them!!!    Also it would be nice if you do any of these this things, give a cards, flowers, a checkup phone call, a homemade meal, take them out for some fresh air or doctor’s appointments… anything kind sweet and caring.  All the other comments and things are not needed at all.  God is full of mercy and grace and is helping that person so all they need is…..your encouragement and prayers.

If the person is not a Christian then be a careful, loving and gentle witness to them.  Invite them to church, leave them a tract and see if there is something you can do to help them.  Be wise, discerning and sensitive about their situation.

We who are chronically ill are very sensitive because we are usually in pain, on a lot medication and have been through a lot.  One day a close friend of mine came over my house and I was going through a lot of pain and discomfort and she sat with me and I cried in her arms.  She just held me and prayed for me.  I didn’t want her to wash dishes or anything….I just needed a friend and comfort at that moment and it helped me so much.  I have never forgotten her act of compassion.

So you can see why the story of the paralyzed man really touches me.  All his friends needed to do was to have compassion on Him and Jesus healed him.  Be encouraging and pray is all that is truly needed.

Message for today: I feel some people (Not everyone…just some) would have more compassion for a wounded animal than a chronically ill Christian….I know…I’ve been through this…”Woof! Woof!”

Mathew 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

JOHN 3:16 Tim Tebow = Tebowing

Tebowing

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Students Tebowing

Tim Tebow is the 24-year-old quarterback for the Denver Bronco’s football team and He’s a Christian who has been very public about His faith in Jesus Christ.  He takes a knee and prays at times during a game.  This act of prayer is now called”Tebowing.” It’s a nationally known gesture and is also known worldwide now.  Many people famous and regular folks have criticized Tim for this act but many more people have cheered him on and some young people are copying his act of taking a knee in prayer.  (With young people copying so many negative things people are doing…copying praying is a very positive thing to do.)

Bethany Hamilton

Does God need Tim Tebow to do this?  No.  Is God using Tim Tebow’s act of prayer?  I believe positively yes.  Tim Tebow is not the only person or situation to be used by God like this.  In 2003 a young girl named Bethany Hamilton had her arm bitten off by a shark attack at the age of 13 years old.  She too wis a Christian and has given God the glory for seeing her through her terrible ordeal.  There is a book and even a movie about her story.  There are many more of these types of events that have been publicized by the media pertaining to Christian faith these days.

I believe God is doing His own thing in this 21st century.  He is revealing Himself through certain situations and turning them to good.  He has always done this but in the last decade it’s been very public thanks to new technology  like TV, the internet, Youtube, etc.  He’s not causing these tragic events just to show off.…these are things that were just going to happen.  The people who it happened to saw how God bought them through their distress and decided to share their story  of God’s grace and mercy and God is getting the glory from their testimonies.

Daniel in the lion den

There are many bible stories where God used a negative situation to bring the positive…like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace….also Daniel in the lion’s den….and Joseph and His mean brothers in that pit situation.  God has gotten the glory for these events for many years….about 1,500 years before Christ to be exact.

John 3:16 has been googled so much in the past few days because of Tim Tebow.  I can’t see how this can be a bad thing.  The word of God has power….Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

What should we do about this Tim Tebow thing?

  1. We should be praying for Him because you know He is going to be under attack.  The enemy hates Tim and He and his family need our prayers.
  2. We should be praying for those that are seeking Jesus because of what they have seen in Tim Tebows life.  Souls will be saved! This is so exciting!
  3. We should pray that the word of God will go forth…Not just John 3:16, but that people will want to read bibles like they never did before.
  4. We should pray bible sales will go up and that bibles fly off the shelves and will be read!
  5. Prayer is needed for others to take a stand and give God glory for what God has done in their lives.
  6. We all need to get back to basics and study up on John 3:16 in case someone ask us to explain the hope that is within us.
  7. Pray for our nation and this world that the name of Jesus will not only be on people’s tongues but in their hearts…..saved!

Message for today: While Tim Tebow is out there sharing His faith…what am I doing?  I’m Tebowing right now…..somebody come and help me up!  All kidding aside…folks let’s…….TAKE A KNEE!

Message from God’s heart to mine…Trust Him

There are those of you who have tremendous things going on in your life right now.  It seems as if the trials are coming at you from every direction.  Sometimes it seems as if you can barely catch your breath….trials on top of trials.

It seems the more you try to fix it… the worse it gets.  You work on that thing even pray about it and work on it some more and still a mess.  You’ve tried confronting that thing or things head on.  You speak up about it and you are getting nowhere.

Today…  I feel the Lord saying…don’t be anxious….quiet your spirit….be calm….step back….take a deep breath…..take your hands off the reins….let go….take off that yoke….cast off your burdens….get off your horse…put the phone down….stop talking about it on facebook and twitter….shut off the computer…stop calling your mother, neighbor and friends….stop yelling at folks…leave your pastor alone…hold your tongue…be silent and be still!

The Lord says to you today that He is out there fighting for you!  He is there for you!  His promises from His word are true.    This was the title of one of my blog friends… Jeanne E Webster’s blog yesterday…”Does God Lie? NO!  He is not a man that He should lie.  He said in His word that He will never leave us or forsake us.  He said He will be there to fight our battles.  So what do we do?  Pray…ask Him for help and wisdom and leave it to Him when there is a battle to be fought in our lives.  Step back from it and be silent, quiet and still and see your Father God take over and bring a seemingly out of control situation under His power and authority.

Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”( NIV)

The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. (KJV)

The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” (ESV)

THIS IS WHAT GOD DOES…HE TAKES CARE OF HIS CHILDREN…HE’S A VERY VERY GOOD FATHER.  OUR ABBA FATHER LOVES US…TRUST HIM.

Is God into Sci-Fi?

John 17: 20-26 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

I don’t know if God is into Science fiction….but I surely am!!!!  My broad sci-fi imagination has help me in my walk with the Lord.  I told God long ago when I first became a committed Christian to take me where no man has gone before(that’s a quote from Star Trek).  I opened myself up to Him in my prayer closet, closed my eyes and opened my heart and mind to anything He wanted to tell me and show me…and He did and He does.  I try to go as far with God as humanly possible.

Okay….if you’re thinking that I’m a little strange…you’re going think I’m really crazy now comparing God with Sci-fi. I love Sci-Fi’s because it opens my mind up to see beyond human limits.  When I read in the bible some of the descriptions of God’s throne room and the beings and creatures in there… it makes me think of Sci-Fi because it’s so incredible . Read the book of Ezekiel and hold on to your seat.

I’m a big Star Trek fan and for those who have never heard of Star Trek…it’s a science fiction TV show from 1966-69. They also made many movies and the first one was called… Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This movie had a big impact on me. Throughout the whole movie an artificial life form was looking for its creator and at the end of the movie it turned out that the United States space program was the creator 300 years before. This life form was going to destroy earth unless it joined with the creator… so one of the crew members of the Star Trek Enterprise volunteered his life to join with this life form and sparks were flying as the two became one and evolved into a new life form. Whew…I know…a little out there but…think about us….humans.  We too want to be united with the creator and we are.

Please try to watch this clip from that part in the movie…the special effect were awesome:

This is our (Christians) true story:

There is a being who always was and He created the whole universe as we know it and formed a planet called earth. He made human beings who were separated from Him because of sin, and then He came down to earth in the form of man named Jesus who sacrificed Himself so we can be put right with the creator who is God and have eternal life. If we accept His Son Jesus sacrifice and believe in Him we will be able to have a unique relationship with God who is in Jesus who is in us and we are in union with them.

I speak the truth..read the above scripture verse again….Jesus said to His Father… “just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us.”  This is why we say our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit. God is in us!! What an awesome fact. I am in union with my God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Jesus said…”may they also be in US”! He repeats this concept to make sure we understand this privilege and blessing.

God is out of this world...But He is in our world...He's in us!!! Thank you Jesus!

Being in union with God means after you are born again you will be joined and united with God. When a man and woman marry they are joined emotionally and physically. If you join an organization (like the Army for example) you become a member and are involved with them and become a part of them. Joining anything brings two or more things or people together. That’s how we are with our God and there is a responsibility with that. With God living in me I need to….live right! My speech, actions and my walk in the Lord should be one that represents Christ. The Second part of the above scripture says… “so that the world may believe that you have sent me”. We all have a purpose…and that is to let others see Jesus through our lives.

We have the fullness of Christ right now.  We have everything in us to have an abundant complete life in Jesus Christ. But like the life form in the Star Trek movie….I think about the day when I will be joined with the creator in my glorified body that will be compatible with His nature and I will get to experience this union in an unspeakable, indescribable unbelievable way. I will experience all the love, joy and happiness from the power of the eternal light of His glory. I will truly be one with the creator. Oh what a day that will be!!!!

For right now…God has given us a taste of  Himself and this is experienced because of our union with God which is made possible because of Jesus Christ. This unity with God in this way is very precious to us because we can experience the Skekinah Glory of God, we can talk to Him and He can talk to us. This experience can enable others to see God in us and believe in Him also. Unity in God is who I represent in my life. I carry Jesus around in me and God is in Jesus so….I am in them and they are in me.

Message for today: I may not have turned you into a Sci-Fi fan… but I hope I’ve helped to remind you of our Union with the Lord.  We are in union with God…we are connected with Him…how awesome is that?

Is it okay to question God?

Now you know God dosen't look like this ...right? 🙂

Exodus 5:22-23 Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Why, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me? 23 Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on this people, and you have not rescued your people at all.”

Job 7:20-21 If I have sinned, what have I done to you, O watcher of men? Why have you made me your target? Have I become a burden to you? 21 Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more.”

At one point in my Christian walk I remember being told never to question God. I was really afraid to. I thought that what I heard during a violent thunderstorm would happen and the thunderous voice of God would say…”YOU BETTA NOT QUESTION ME TANYA”!!!!! I have since found out that God does NOT do this…In fact He loves that you are talking to Him and seeking His wise counsel for answers. Who else should you go to when you are faced with a difficult situation?

Why?... Can come out of deep anguish of the heart!

In the examples of biblical people questioning God that I have mentioned in the above scriptures…there was something about them that gives us the key to not ticking God off when questioning Him. The key is having an ongoing relationship with God. Asking Him why…when it comes from the cry of your heart means something to Him and He doesn’t take our anguish lightly.

Even if you are not a Christian and you ask God why He will answer you if your motive is that you truly want know why things are happening to you and you’re ready to surrender to His power and authority in your life.

Now if you ask God why and curse Him….then you can expect negative things will surely be in your life.
[Here is a little life gem….don’t tick God off!! Have respect for Him and fear Him. Honor Him for who He is. Always have this in your mind and heart. It will serve you well.]

Getting back to asking God why… I take all the examples about how to live my life from Jesus. He too asked His Father God why.
Mathew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)

If God answered Jesus back…we don’t know because the bible doesn’t state that. Jesus did call out for God and He asked Him why was He forsaking Him.   So from His example I believe its okay to question God. Jesus was in deep anguish when He asked God why but that didn’t mean Jesus was acting disrespectfully towards His Father. Why in this instance is the…cry of the heart and that’s what brings humans to the point of crying out. Our heart is in so much pain.

Sometimes we need to know why God is allowing certain things to happen in our lives. Everything that happens to us always has a purpose…but God doesn’t always reveal His purposes to us. So why ask God if He’s not going to always tell you why? I believe it’s to keeps us in touch with God…seeking His face….abiding in Him and it helps us to keep our eyes focused on Him for our support and help.
When we ask God why… He sometimes will answer your questions right away…but I can tell you from my personal experience that He will reveal the answers in days, weeks and even years later. That’s why we must always wait on the Lord. He will answer you in His time. One of my sayings is.…”when I get to heaven I’m gonna buy God a new watch because His is obviously broken!” There are times when you will never get an answer to the question until you get to heaven. 1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

So go ahead…ask God your question but always in an attitude of respect for His power and authority in your life and never ask like you are trying to be slick and trip Him up…like… He’s lied to you about something. God don’t play…as I always say. I love Him and respect Him and even in my deepest distress…I would never disrespect Him in my heart. My mind might go a little crazy and have a little doubt..But my heart is ever trusting in His ability to take care of me. That’s why I know God will never destroy me for questioning Him. Nothing will ever separate me from His love and care.

Never curse God!!!!!!

No matter how upset and questioning I get… this will never be enough for God to let go of me. I have often thought of Job’s wife telling her husband to curse God and die. All that Job went through…Had to make him very upset…but He had enough love and trust for God to know that God had His reasons and purpose. I love what Job said to her….He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” Job 2:10. Job said it’s foolish. One would have to be a fool to do that because the consequences are not good when you curse God.

Message for today: You can ask God your questions and not have to put your hands over your head in fear that God is going to knock your head off if you question Him. Be patient as you wait for an answer and trust God….trust that He knows what He’s doing in your life.

There are many answers to why God allows suffering. If you are going through difficult suffering right now...ask God why. He will either tell you or help you without saying anything...but I know He will be there to meet your need. It could be a sudden answer or He may just give you mercy, peace, comfort, grace or all of the above. I can promise you that you will get something. You may not always get the why answer the way you want but it will be what you need from God's perspective. Seek Him ask Him and trust Him!

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense–Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

When I think about my past…I want to fall out and cry because I was sinner….I was out there….I was lost…The devil was my father (John 8:44). Oh the thought of that makes me get the chills!! I was so unprotected…I was condemned! I had no one to help me. I was left to my own evil devices. I was in danger…sitting out here precariously on the edge of a cliff ready to fall into the abyss of eternal damnation. Then……..

Someone came into my life 2000 years before I was born and fixed this problem. Halleluiah!!! He went back to heaven after He gave His very own life for me and sat down by the Fathers side and interceded on my behalf. I’m not condemned. I had an advocate who had my best interest at heart. I was surely guilty but there was someone who would be able to not only provide a way out… but completely remove the obstacle that was keeping me from wholeness and separated from the one who created me. One day He will present me faultless to the creator. He is the only one in the entire universe who could approach the Almighty and ask Him to forgive me.  ( What Jesus did for me required that I repent of my sins , believe in Jesus christ and ask Him to be my Lord and Savior)

If you haven’t guessed by now…this person is… Jesus Jesus Jesus. I have to say His name three times because He means that much to me and so much more. Sin is nasty, ugly, stinking, vile, and disgusting…there aren’t enough human word to express the complete awfulness of what is contained in that word sin. Jesus took every human that will ever be born in this world’s… sin upon Himself and made it possible to remove it . He had to endure having His Father turn His back on Him the minute He did this because He couldn’t look upon that sin. Jesus was our advocate our intercessor.

As I took communion in church Sunday…I took the time to really remember why I had that wafer in my mouth and the wine. What Jesus did for us and His ongoing work as an intercessor should NEVER be forgotten and should constantly be on our minds. When we say…”Thank you Jesus”…it should be said with His sacrifice on our hearts and minds.

And if His His sacrifice and intercession wasn’t enough….it was arranged by God that His name alone is endued with power. Jesus name is beneficial for one’s life. I thank Jesus for His propitiationary sacrifice for us (Hebrews 2:17)

When I think of that name Jesus….I just want to jump up and down and shout and cry out His name. When I think on that name Jesus…I want to bow down low…in fact I want to lay down and put my face on the floor and worship Him. When I think about the name of Jesus…I want to hold a pillow and rock back and forth, cry, laugh and sing His name. When I think of the name of Jesus….I want to pray and moan in the Holy Spirit because I know He can express to Jesus better than I can just how much I thank Him for what He did for me and tell Him how much I love Him.

When I woke up this morning…I had Jesus on my mind…like many mornings but this morning I’m feeling so much anointing on that name!! So I’m sharing what I feel God has given me to share with you. I’m feeling… the power of that name right now. Come on… close your eyes right now and Just think of that name…JESUS_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Do you feel that power too? We need this power today!…this week…this year! I need that name…I need Jesus! Oh Jesus….Jesus …Jesus!

Father God,

Touch each and every person who reads this blog today. Oh Lord…you know what each of your children need in their lives. Oh Jesus…there is so much power in your name. Help us to rely on you alone. Help us to look to you in our weakness. Let us look to you in our joy also. Oh Lord…let us taste and see that you are so good for us. Lord..Please give us your peace…we need it! We want to be anchored in you…help us to remember that we am. Today as we feel the weight of this New Year and all the things that can happen in this year, let us keep this thought before us…. that because your Son lived we can face all our tomorrows. Help us to have courage and please give us wisdom. Father we thank you in advance for all the victories that will come our way in 2012. I know they will because you said you will never leave us or forsake us and you said you would provide what we need. Thank you for your protection, concern and care. We love you!

I ask all these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Message for today: Call on the name of Jesus for help and to worship. It’s not just any name. Jesus is the Son of God and His name is worthy to be praised!
