Jesus is lord 1

Many people believe in Jesus Christ but have not made Him Lord of their lives. Lord means someone having power over you. Making this person your master. It means you submit to their authority. You are totally committed to this person. You consider them first in all decisions in your life. They rule over you as you submit to them. Another word for having Lordship over someone is Adonai. Adonai meaning master, owner, father.

Roman 10:9 If you declare with your mouth,Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.           “JESUS IS MASTER!”

When we believed in Jesus we declared Him as being the supreme authority in the entire universe!! Our hearts and minds acknowledge His  lordship and eventually the entire creation will bow before Him one day and acknowledge His supremacy.

I accepted Jesus Christ in my life at the age of 12 watching Billy Graham on TV, but I didn’t become a committed Christian until 34 years old. This was when I gave up self and let God be first in my life and be in charge of my life. I stopped doing what I wanted for my life and started doing what He wanted for my life. I gave up my control over me. I wanted Jesus to be my master.Jesus is lord

My whole focus and purpose in life was to do His will and to serve Him!!! I surrendered my whole self and put myself under Gods authority. My house whole was governed by His principals for living found in His word. My actions reflected Jesus Christ. I wanted to please my master all the time.

2 Corinthians 4 :5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. Jesus is Lord and master and we are here to serve Him as His servants.

Do I get this right all the time? Absolutely not!!! It’s so easy to fall back into old patterns like doing what I want to do and making my own decisions. Like controlling my own life and not putting God first. But the Holy Spirit reminds me of God’s word and I repent and get back on the right track with God. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26

My point today… Is Jesus Christ your Lord…your master? When you call someone master…it’s a very humbling experience. It makes you want to bow down just saying those words and give yourself to someone to have ownership and control over you. On earth this word has not been a pleasant one for most people throughout history. It’s a very powerful word. But spiritually this word is the difference between having a close relationship to God or a lukewarm relationship with Him.

Will you ponder the word Lord today? Is Jesus your Lord and Master or just a friendly chap you say you have in your life to chat with once in a while when you’re in trouble or feeling a little down? ( No disrespect here just making a point.)

We are living in very very very dangerous, perilous, uncertain, and evil times. We all need to be in a good place with God. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me (Psalms 23:4) j

For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones…(Psalms 37:28)

If you give Jesus Lordship over your life and do what Jesus says do which is to: Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. (Psalms 37:3-5)  You will be so blessed! The master will care for you. He will help you! You will be able to get through anything!!

Dear Father God…I have been trying to handle my own life for so long but now I’m ready to give everything over to you. Thank you for watching over me even when I wanted to do things my way. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who gently leads me to focus on you. Thank you Jesus for going out of your way to put me right with the Father. I want to be right with you by becoming a committed Christian and making you Lord and master over my life! Forgive me. In Jesus name…Amen.

In His presence daily live.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
