I stated in my blog on New Year’s Day that this year is going to be a powerful one. I want to tell you what God put on my heart to share with you today.

There are two terms that I want to share with you and then elaborate on in this blog. I feel this is very important because this is the dawning of a New Year and it’s best to have a good plan going into the New Year and refer to it throughout the year so you can… sail through 2012. Note I didn’t say your going to fail in 2012…or the devil will beat your tail in 2012…but I’m telling you God’s love for you will prevail (def. is: Prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious) in 2012!

I’m telling you now…Your’re gonna make it! I have my hands on your shoulders and I’m looking you in the eye and saying…” YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT…VICTORIOULLY!!!”

The two terms I want to give you are:

1. Jesus is your portion
2. “But God”

Lamentations 3:24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

Let’s delve into the word portion….portion is a part, slice, percentage, or section of something.

Psalm 16:5-6 (NLT) Puts it this way…..

LORD, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
6 The land you have given me is a pleasant land.
What a wonderful inheritance!

The Lord is our heritage…He is our life! He’s everything to us. All our hope, future, and blessings are in Him. He is our portion! We have a part of Him.. a portion which is all we need. We will have all of Him when we are in heaven… 100% God and all His wonderful glory. Right now we have His fullness (we are full of Him) and we have everything we need to sustain us in this life. So when you think about you and all of 2012 and you think about…ponder on the fact that the Lord is your portion…you can take a sigh of relief and say to yourself….

I am a child of God…the Lord is my Shepherd…and He will be there for me. I don’t have to want for anything, my needs will be met. I don’t have to stress myself out or be anxious….I need to know my word, pray, commit all my ways to Him and…I will say…I will trust you Lord because you Lord are my portion.

Whenever you go through stuff this year…print out this blog and keep it handy and reread it. Meditate on the scripture verses…sing His eye is on the sparrow to yourself and keep moving forward….endure….and stand when you’ve done all you can do…stand!

Let’s examine…”But God”.

Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

There are many scripture verses with but God in the bible and there is a good reason why God said that to us that. You can apply but God to any and all situations in your life. I did a blog on “but God” that you can read:

This year the 23rd Psalm will be very dear to us. Meditate on this. In fact.. really get into God’s word. His Holy bible is LIVING! It’s God speaking to us. The paper itself is not the power. Our enemies on earth burn our bibles. It’s the words and the power of the book that brings this book to life in our lives. They can take our bibles but they can’t remove the words from our hearts. If these 2 scripture verses can have a power effect on you today… just from reading my blog… think what knowing what the whole bible says…the effect that can have on your life.

As I have said…this year is going to be a powerful year….but we serve a very very powerful God!!!!!!!!!!

You can sail through any storm with Jesus in your boat! Stick close to Him and He’ll stick close to you! Call on Jesus…He is never far away from you. In fact…He’s with you right now. Now don’t you feel good knowing that?

Happy and New Year!

Message for today: Let’s put all….I’m saying….all our trust in God…He is truly our portion…our heritage. Praise be the name of our God…Jehovah Jireh our Provider!

Peace be with you
